the absolute worst pharmacy experience I have ever had in my entire life. Prescriptions are constantly late leaving you without necessary medication for days and even weeks. The pharmacists are rude and are often short with customers who are understandably frustrated by their piss poor service. If you need medication, never go to this walgreens. You won't be getting your medication in a timely manner. Everyone at this establishment needs to take a big step back and review their life. I find this to be one of the weirder Walgreen locations. They technically have things inside but they're usually hard to find, shoved into the too small shelves or hiding in a location you'd never guess. I went in because my local Walgreens was out of some press on nail sets for the little one's stocking- nothing says 'Santa loves you and thinks you're such a big girl' as tacky press on nails apparently... They didn't have them, and when I asked the cosmetic counter lady - who had pleasantly told me she'd be happy to help if I had questions- where I might find lip gloss sets for little girls, she basically pointed and said 'down there.' Uh, thanks I think. There was one Hello Kitty set, but no Bonnie Bell- WHA? Where's the candy cane shaped tube of soda pop flavored lip gloss that we all know and love? The woman at the front counter was awesome, however, and helped me figure out the price on something that was incorrectly marked on the shelf, and even tried a coupon in their flyer to see if I'd save any money. Wow, I had to take a way to write about my experience here today. Cause I was flat out blown away! First the store had all the typical things you would want. Toiletries, medical needs, household items, groceries, even a souvenir area. I dropped in to grab some aviators cause it's so bright out today. It was really easy to find what I needed and the staff offered to help every time I walked by a new person. And it was very casual, not pushy at all. I was free to wander and browse but knew I could ask if needed. But I really gotta give it up to ALEX at the check out counter. Wow!! They are the bomb and should be rewarded with something for sure. They told me about the new points program, guided through checkout, and just provided above and beyond customer service all around. I will definitely be making it a point to shop here next time I need something of this nature. This isn't my regular, neighborhood Walgreens but I was in the Capitol Hill area and needed a Rx filled. While my dog and I were waiting for my Rx, I had pleasant interactions with several staff throughout the store. All of the staff and the new manager were happy, pleasant and helpful! Specifically, Alex and Junika were incredibly helpful with doing an exchange/return so that I could get 5,000 rewards points. They also took extra time to come pet my pup and discuss my pregnancy with me. Great experience! read more

The pharmacy said that they could not fill a prescription because the prescription did not say if it was 1 or 2 drops eyedrops. I explained that I had used the eye drops before and knew the dosage. A day later they had still had not filled the prescription because they did not call the doctor's office. Ended up picking up the prescription and going to another pharmacy. read more

They are ok and generally I've gotten what I've needed over the years. I've noticed when I would visit I often find people arguing with them about some prescription issues. I thought it was the other people until my last experience. The pharmacist communicated they could fill one part of my prescription but couldn't do the other because they didn't have the right information. I checked my paperwork and googled the prescription the dr's office gave me. It came up with lots of results and seemed straight forward. Called the dr's office and they were surprised Walgreens didn't reach out when they had the issue understanding the prescription (I am as well). The pharmacy staff appears to have a bad rep on this page, and for good reason. 95% of the staff are plain rude or uninterested. This is a pharmacy, not a hip coffee shop; I am picking up MEDICATIONS, not a soy lavender latte. Cut the sass. There is one person, in particular, who is incredibly difficult. I've dealt with her on a couple of occasions (a short, Indian American appearing woman), and I cannot stand her and her incompetence. She always argues with me over my prescriptions when it is unnecessary. For instance, instead of telling me my psychiatrist has not approved my prescription via fax (even though this same rep told me it would be done days beforehand and I should wait around for it to be filled/I got text alerts over the weekend to the contrary), she asks me, "Did you bring in two hard prescriptions?" in a demeaning tone as if I'm stupid. She was the cashier I had dropped off my prescriptions with Friday. The one prescription they did fill, they gave me double the dosage of. I'm not sure if they were trying to give me two month's supply or not. They don't tell me what I should know, and instead argue with me over what I already know. The next time I go in, if I deal with this same pharmacy cashier and she gives me attitude, I am going to ask to speak to the store manager or ask if they can arrange for me to switch to a different pharmacy. Picking up/dropping off medications should be a simple errand. read more

Some people may not value, or understand the worth of customer service and hospitality, but as a person who has a lot of experience working in retail and service I am NOT one of them. I am writing to commend a pharmacist named Emily at the Wallgreens at 15th Ave E and E Republican. She called me today to discuss a prescription I needed that had been back ordered and, unexpectedly, was unfillable. She apologized and explained the problem, called my MD to do the same, and pulled several OTC medications I may want to use until a new prescription was ready for me. Wow! First time using this pharmacy since moving nearby. The first thing the pharmacist tell me is if I want to switch to name brand (on the advice of my doctor) it will be "QUITE EXPENSIVE." I say, "ok, last time it was around --$. Has the price gone up?". To which she responds, "no but I think that's quite expensive. It will take me about 20 minutes to make this change." The only reason I subtracted a star is because, well... it's the neighborhood Drugstore. Other than that, the staff make this place the 4 star beauty that it is! With my 34th birthday right around the corner, I decided to take the plunge and buy some "official" facial lotion. I have fairly sensitive skin and didn't want to use anything with crazy chemicals. Having never been wrong with suggestions in the past, I went to find the trusty cosmetics gals and explain my case. Sadly, neither were working that day. I picked out a brand that some of my gal pal's recommended, not to name names but starts with an "A" ends with an "O" and promotes their use of natural oatmeal and soy in their product. For those that don't know (yep, that was me), "soy" is not a great choice for sensitive skin, rather more like acetone on your skin. Having remembered the cosmetics gal's telling me in the past, "you can return it if you don't like it," (I should add I remember thinking, who on earth would return mascara?) I decided for the first time to exchange a cosmetic. Not only did my trusty cosmetic gal seem genuinely happy to see me, but she proceeded to explain the whole soy/sensitive skin relationship to me and recommended a great (and cheaper!) alternative and topped it off with a $2 coupon! This Walgreens is fine - I mean, how exciting can a Walgreens be? It's small, so there is limited inventory and good luck finding someone to help you with anything. I pick my prescription up from here and sometimes it takes 10 seconds and sometimes it takes 20 minutes. Their pharmacy seems to be short staffed and the people picking up medication seem to always have problems or questions. I hate how long I often have to wait. This place has also filled it incorrectly. The pharmacists here are nice and they try, but there's some kind of organizational problem on the backend. If you live near this Walgreens and it's most convenient for you to pick up your prescriptions from here, you'll be fine. It accommodates your basic needs, it might just be kind of annoying. If you're in an emergency situation and need a bathroom, you'd have better luck stopping into one of the coffee shops along 15th. This Walgreens does have its own parking lot though so major props there. read more

Honestly, I believe with all my might that the pharmacy manager here has some of the best knowledge that one could have in her field. However, she has ZERO customer relation skills. Interacting with her is like trying to communicate with a pitbull. I originally took one of my medications to a competitor because they have been out of it for a couple months and I've decided that I shouldn't be rewarding them with the rest of my business because of their negative demeanor. Since this Walgreens is only 4 blocks away from me, it's been my go-to drugstore and pharmacy. I've been in a few times in the past week to get things for an upcoming trip to Asia. Here's why it gets one star: 1. The stock. In the past couple weeks I have had to go back multiple times because they are out of things. Last week I went in for sunscreen and hand sanitizer. They were out of the store brand hand sanitizer, and out of most of the sunscreen! It's summer, for god's sake, can you please keep sunscreen in stock? Today I went looking for contact solution, but half the slots on the shelf are empty. They really need to do a better job stocking the shelves. 2. The hours. The pharmacy is not open very convenient hours. It doesn't open until 10am on weekends, and it seems to close early on weekdays. It's a pharmacy - people get sick all the time. Some people have noted that the staff is great. I've found them to be acceptable. When you can find someone they will usually show you to the right shelf. But they also annoy me with the "did you notice we have a special on these things. want to buy some?" crap when I check out. I know that's probably company policy, but it's annoying. Just let me pay and leave. read more

It does indeed feel like a dollar store and stocks plenty of dollar store items like $1 lipstick made of who knows what toxic chemicals, neon nail polish, etc. That also makes it more amusing to browse, though... no end of things to laugh at here. However, I've found the pharmacy convenient. You can refill prescriptions online, their automated service will call and remind you to pick them up, and their prices are good. read more

This is my local Walgreens and so I pop in here when I need a few items that are hard to get from the grocery store. The store isn't very big and there's all kinds of odd stuff to find, so it's kinda fun to just poke around if you have some time to kill.
