Had tons of bad experiences here with the pharmacy telling me stuff is ready and then not actually having it ready. I don't live in Ione anymore but it was so bad I used to drive there until the pharmacy changed hands. I started coming back here and it's a little bit better but once again I just waited in line for 15 minutes after their automated system said it was ready and then was told it's not ready and it would take a half hour. So now I have to drive home and come back a second time which this has to be at least the 8th time this has happened. Unfortunately there's not a lot of better options in the amador county read more

This Walgreens is a nightmare and needs to be shut down. My son's medication got sent here after we took him to the ER I called and asked if they could send it to the one in Modesto they said yes. I called Modesto and they said they never got the request from them so I called this Walgreens back and turns out the person I talked to on the phone canceled the prescription instead and told me oh well call the er and get another one. read more

I think people in the area forget we are a very small market. We are lucky to have a Pharmacy choice. This location will not always have in stock the medication you need. However they give you a phone number to check and they ANSWER the phone. How you are treated is always how you treat others so be kind and they will be kind. read more

The rudeness of the staff at this store is appalling. We had a prescription sent here not realizing our insurance did not have an agreement with Walgreens pharmacies. The pharmacist was the most unprofessional person I've encountered in this area. I'm floored that he even has a job with his behavior. When we called in to make a complaint he hung up on us. Seems as if things have changed since all of the negative comments. I wasn't too sure I wanted to make the switch but had to change from Raley's because of insurance. I have been extremely happy with Walgreens Pharmacy. They are courteous, helpful and knowledgeable in dealing with a rash of medications for an illness. One of the pharmacists even called me to see how one of the meds was affecting me. I have no complaints and am happy I made the change. read more

In the 5 years I've lived here and have been going to this Walgreens, the issues have continued to get worse. But these days, it's become downright dangerous. There are several reasons I've stayed with them, but it's not been easy. Corporate won't do anything. When I used to be able to get a hold of someone, they'd only forward my complaint back to the local store manager and my issues wouldn't get resolved. I've been doing my homework - the staffing issues they claim to be due to the pandemic, Walgreens is experiencing it much worse than other pharmacies and industries in general. Several surrounding Walgreens (ie, Placerville, Folsom, Rancho Cordova) has been experiencing similar staffing issues. I couldn't get my prescriptions transferred to another store for this reason, when they were being held up at this location for being closed for 2.5 days straight without notice. Therefore, I felt I was left with no choice but to file a grievance with the CA Pharmacy Board. It's become obvious that Walgreens needs outside intervention, accountability and incentives (ie, fines) in order to fix their issues, which I believe starts at the corporate/executive/managerial level. I believe employees suffer as much or more than Walgreens patients. If you've been receiving unacceptable, dangerous service (ie, delays in receiving vital medications or receiving the wrong amounts), please consider reaching out to the California Pharmacy Board, who has been responsive. The more voices, the better. All I want is for things to be resolved with Walgreens, that whoever or whatever is a cancer on this organization be discovered and held accountable, so that Walgreens patients and employees get better treatment and service moving forward. A pleasant surprise how well stocked this store was right before Christmas. Plenty of everyday items & stocking stuffers purchased. As well as hard to find items due to the pandemic such as vinyl gloves & rubbing alcohol & cold meds. Service in the photo department was excellent, having placed two separate special orders online for later day pick up. Photo art turned out exactly as I was hoping. Long lines for check out, but clerks attending the registers swiftly & friendly without compromising service. read more

This pharmacy has deteriorated very badly over the last six or so months. It literally takes them weeks to fill a prescription, and not just for scarce medications but for ALL medications. It has become abundantly clear that they will not pay adequately to staff the pharmacy, and the result has been sheer madness for those expecting to have their prescriptions filled in a reasonable amount of time. They are frequently closed without warning, and drive 30 minutes to a vaccine appointment only for them to tell me that they don't have the staffing to provide the vaccine. Their willingness to take prescription orders but then not fill them until we'll after folks have run out is literally becoming a dangerous situation for some. read more

I cannot even give this pharmacy anything above 1 star because despite the fact that the staff is quite friendly, my medications are consistently out of stock, late, or just plain over looked. The last time I tried to get my medication they first told me they would have to order it from a different location, to changing their response to it being my fault because it was "too early to get the medication". That was a complete lie and I know it was because I was actually OVERDUE to receive this specific medication. You would think that in an area with a very small population of people that the pharmacists would be more on top of things but unfortunately this seems to be an excuse for them to be lazy and incompetent. If you have an important medication, something that you need in order to literally physically keep your heart beating, I would highly suggest driving to a different pharmacy or finding a way to have them delivered. I know that if either of those options were realistic for me I would 100% be taking advantage of them. I cannot overstate the laziness at this particular pharmacy. When they say a prescription still isn't ready 3 days past when it has arrived I cannot chalk it up to being anything other than the fact that the pharmacists can't be bothered to get your prescription to you in a timely manner. read more

Before we moved up here to Amador County, I loved our local Walgreens. Great service, always had my prescription on time, and always had enough people on hand to help customers. On the other hand, the only Walgreens in Amador County is like a completely different company. We've been coming here for a few months now and every single time there is an issue... I'll call in multiple prescriptions each month. I give them three days to fill because it's a 15 mile drive, each way, to pick them up. I want to make sure they have all the time they need. I'll be told "we have these two but this one isn't available because we don't get our delivery until later today," and I'll have to make that 30 mile round trip again the next day to pick it up. (Couldn't they make sure they had it in the three days I gave them to fill it?) Every single time... I'll give them three days notice and then they won't start to fill the order until I show up at the counter to pick them up. Then I have to wait 30-45 minutes for them to finish. Every single time... There will be 8 people waiting in line, another 6 people waiting for their prescriptions to be filled , 4 cars in the drive thru, and one...maybe two...people will be waiting on customers causing interminable waits. Every single time... When they do finally pull your prescription, they have to walk it over to the pharmacist to sign off on it. They're usually on the phone with a patient and waving off the cashier who can't proceed until they OK the order. Every single time... It has become an ordeal I absolutely dread now... ...every...single...time. I think it's time to transfer to a more customer friendly pharmacy. read more

ZERO acknowledgment of customers waiting at the window. ZERO consistency with their instructions. Will tell you one thing and then argue with you two minutes later that they told you something else even though you JUST had the conversation. I feel like I'm going crazy. What a mess. This could all be solved with proper BASIC communication. They have excessively long wait times at drive through due to this lack of communication and changing instructions from staff. Tried this location for ease of the drive through but very disappointed in the customer service. Would have loved to support a local business but taking meds to an online supplier. read more

Every time I have been here, the staff is helpful, the place is clean, and the shelves have what I was looking for.

They never have inventory of medications when needed, we get a notification that our prescription is ready for pickup only to find out they don't even have it in stock when we drive to town. This happens almost every time. So very frustrating read more

It's almost guaranteed your medication will not be ready, or there will be an insurance issue, or they don't have the medication, the list goes on. Save yourself a lot of time and annoyance and go to Safeway instead, they're always on top of things. read more

DO NOT USE - AVOID - Any other pharmacy is better than this one. The pharmacy has consistently the Worst Customer Service I have ever experienced. The staff is inept, systemically understaffed, and their attitudes are surly (at best) to downright hostile. It has been this way for years at this store. I've been stupid trying to see if they've changed after filing numerous complaints over the years with corporate, regional, and local managers - all to no effect. While staffing has been changed (repeatedly), the end result is always the same... delayed filling of scripts, incorrect or inaccurate information, missing prescriptions, and particularly infuriating are the delays in transferring prescriptions to another pharmacy when they can't or won't fill them. Absolute worst pharmacy. Prescriptions are never ready when you go to pick it up, even after days. The drive thru is a joke, waited an hour and a half with 3 cars in front of me only to of course be told my items weren't ready. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

When I checked-out, I thought one of my items was on sale. It wasn't; needed a card. The clerk was condescending and rude and told me NO, I did not get that price. When I turned to leave, she said "Wait. I can fix it." Why offer to be helpful after being so rude. Why not just be helpful from the start? No second chances for a good first impression. read more

Made Appts for flu shots for two of us a month in advance. Showed up for three appt slots in a.m. Waited 10 minutes in line, then 40 minutes after our appt until we spoke up. They had one counter person taking care of counter, phones & drive-thru and only one pharmacist. Had filled out all materials which they proceeded to have us fill out again upon arrival and the same form AGAIN inside room with pharmacist. Don't bother making an appointment as they do not honor them. I will probably go elsewhere next year for my flu shot. read more

Beware: if your Rx is backordered they won't notify you that they're unable to get it and they'll just say I don't have anything here for you. They sent me a delay notice originally but then my prescription just disappeared. When I called about it, the gal was less than helpful and not at all knowledgeable. THE WORST PHARMACY I HAVE EVER BEEN FORCED TO DEAL WITH!!!!!! I usually use CVS and they are great.. I didn't realize how much I took them for granted. Anyways, CVS no longer has a contract to work with military insurance... Walgreens does. I called them to get my daughters prescription set up there, waited on hold for 10 minutes, then spoke with a woman to register. 3 days later I called to check on it and they kept me on hold for 12 minutes, picked up the phone, then hung up on me. I called the stores main line and was able to get through to a pharmacy employee who told me they didn't have my daughter in the system. They put me on hold again and then asked if I would like to begin registration.... UUUUMMM NO! I told them how lousy they were, I didn't want to do business with them and hung up. I have had the privilege of coming here for years and the staff has always been amazing. Id start with the pharmacy which is yes usually busy, but they are very efficient and fast considering the volume of people per day. As for the people who work the floor of this Walgreens, i have always been helped when needed and i would never go anywhere else for a quick shopping experience. Prices are great and staff is amazing. I notice many people are very impatient in the pharmacy but that is to be expected due to how many customers they serve in the area. When i pick up my meds, they know me by name and it makes me feel very welcome to the store. I recommend this Walgreens and their pharmacy to anyone and everyone. read more

I gave one star only because I had to. Bought two hair colors on sale because it was buy 2 get a discount. When I used product 30 days later the color didn't process. Both box's didn't process so I tried to exchange/ return and they wouldn't return or exchange them even though I purchased with my rewards card. Very unsatisfactory they should granted exchange & returned to vendor. Being loyal customer I will no longer shop there now, I will go to CVS or Walmart and buy from them from now on.
