This pharmacy is amazing!!!! I live in Chicago and have been having a horrible experience with the multiple Walgreens around me. So I took a long shot and rolled the dice and picked this location. OMG THE PHARMACY STAFF ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! They were so helpful with getting my prescriptions transferred to them from another Walgreens and they filled them so quickly. I can go on and on. The incompetence of the staff is unbelievable. They can't read. It took them more than an hour to refill one prescription that I just got across the street from the DuPage immediate care and they still have to call to verify when I had the papers of a prescription in their hand. This is the worst pharmacy ever, simply bc they NEVER have enough people working at the pharmacy. Never. There is often 10 people in line, and 1 person behind the counter. Obviously, management is too cheap to pay the proper # of employees. Or maybe, they think people will buy more items if they're stuck in the store for an hour. The 24/7 pharmacy is great in theory, but even at midnight, there can be a line. It's even more ridiculous that there are often multiple employees walking around, but not enough at the pharmacy. My parents moved from out of state where all their prescriptions were covered. When they moved to Villa Park we chose this Walgreens. When I went to refill a prescription for my father they said I would have to pay $450. When I called Osco they said they would fill for $10 with Good Rx coupon. After I called Walgreens back 2-3 times, waiting 45-50 minutes each time asking them to transfer it to Osco, they suddenly said the medicine was covered and I would have to pay $0. I plan to move all my family prescriptions to Osco and am going to ask my friends to do the same who are equally frustrated. Osco answers phone calls with less than 3 minute wait time. I am a pediatrician and many of my Medicaid patients are told they would have to pay exorbitant amounts for their medicines and when they go to other local pharmacies they get them for free. The most understaffed Walgreens with some of THE most rude employees answering the phone. One would expect more out of such a massive corporation but they've really gone down hill. Person who answered my call was so condescending about how others needed their meds before going out of town. No idea what that has to do with the fact I was just released from the hospital due to surgery. How does that not take priority over someone needing pills because they're going outta town?! They are definitely short-handed, so patience is required. We've used the drive-through for many pick-ups. Slow, but they get the job done. Today, I decided to go inside for a pick-up and wanted info about a couple vaccines and ask about a delayed prescription. At the pharmacy, Lydia took great care of me. She was polite, professional, and persistent. She was able to straighten out my account and found the eye drops that are in short supply. Phew! She set me up for two vaccines, even though I didn't have an appointment. I waited about three minutes at the clinic before I got my vaccines. Painless. Quick. I am very disappointed with the level of service provided by pharmacist Edward Snodgrass, as well as the newly hired store manager Sam. The pharmacist appeared more focused on using his phone than on responding to the numerous calls made to the pharmacy. Due to this experience, I will be informing my healthcare providers and any physicians I work with to avoid sending prescriptions to this location. This is one of my favorite Walgreens to shop or to pick up a prescription. It's always cleaned and the shelves are always stocked up neatly. You can easily walk down and find what your looking for in the aisles. The only thing I'm not to fond of is the customer service. It's this one lady who always seems like she has an attitude and she is so loud when she talks. When you ask her a question it's like her replies are so rude. I had to learn how to overlook her. This place completely sucks!! I stopped in to give my new insurance because I had a rx coming thru soon. Guy takes it. I go back days later to pick up and they tell me it was never filled cause my insurance (old one) denied it! No $#!t. And instead of calling me to tell me they weren't filling it I had to find out days later when I went to pick up. Then had to give my insurance a second time and Go back a 3rd time to pick up when it was ready. Today I go to pick up a rx that was sent last night around 9 pm. This place is just ridiculous! I have been to this location multiple times to get passport pictures taken but they have such a hard time sending in the digital copies. You have to contact them several times because the email never comes in. Even then, it may not be resolved and you would have to retake the pictures. Even after that you do not receive the digital copies!! It's so frustrating to go back and forth and they dont take you seriously. The manager is of no help, she does not know how things work over there. She will just tell you they cant do anything about it. But how does your other employee know what to do? This Walgreens 24 hour store on Roosevelt & Summit, Villa Park, IL., is the worse place to try and get answers or have a medication ready when they said it would be ready. No confidence at all for Walgreens, it is a huge muli-million dollar business and was told the other day they do not have my medication in stock and do not know when it will be available. This is America right? Since hydrocodone has been abused by some, I have to suffer in major pain. I have Neuropathy and arthritis for years. there is nothing that can be done. I suffer with major pain if I do not have my medication. I go to the doctor's office every month (40 minutes away from my home) drop it off at the Walgreens only to be told it will not be ready for a few hours to a few days. Severely understaffed and they need to hire ALL Walgreens are the same. It is a crap shoot sometimes I get my medication no problems (I can count on one hand the times that happened). Most times I am told too early to fill medication. I have to wait till the next day or two days and come back again to pick it up that is if they have it in stock. I am a senior citizen, why do I and many others go thru this? many other pharmacies are the same. I tried other pharmacies all are the same. I go to the same Walgreens every month; don't they know that? Don't they know by now I am not a "drug seller" or go overboard and take too many. Clearly I am just a number to Walgreens, there is not one person there I could give a good rating to. I have been going back and forth with Walgreens and so has my doctor for 3 days now. Why do senior citizens have to jump through hoops to get our medications? I have the WORST experiences picking up medicine. And I have to wait for long periods of time whether I go in or through drive thru. Recently I tried to get my medicine delivered per their advertised FREE delivery and they did NOT GET IT DONE. I have tried different times of day etc. always a long wait. Horrible pharmacy. I get a text saying my prescription is ready. I go there and it is out of stock. They ask why I didn't call. The next time I get the text a call and the person on the phone tells me it's ready and come on in. I get there and they don't have my meds i am told to connect two days later. Two days turns into a week. Today I went there cause I forgot to change my son's pharmacy. Same thing was told it was ready now it is out of stock. My son needs these meds and him not taking them could harm him. They don't care and tell me they can't transfer the prescription to another Walgreens store. Bad experience. I rang the customer service bell several times looked for staff to help open the cabinet for razors but no one would/could assist. Then waited in line at the pharmacy (about 12 people long) with one rude pharmacy tech. I had to wait about a half hour in line then when I got there, the tech said I don't have insurance for medication. Ive filled probably 10 other prescriptions this year with my insurance without issues. I asked she re run my insurance and she insisted it didn't work. Who would have thought that Walgreens could blow me away? Yeah. This location kind of did. I swung by here for a quick in-and-out visit to pick up some batteries and happened to pause long enough to notice how bright it was. So bright, clean, and shiny. Recently remodeled? I think, perhaps. Shelves were stocked well with more item options than most Walgreens I've seen. Sections of the store were clearly labeled and divided. Spacious aisles, large windows, nice people --- good Walgreens, indeed. OK, I'm sure this Walgreens is actually perfectly ordinary, but I've been living for the past five months in a rural area without a Walgreens. Rite Aid just isn't the same thing. I was in need of medicine for my very sick daughter. The rep told me to take a seat and said they would be ready soon. I waited 40 mins and went back up to check and she said that I should've been told to leave and come back because it would be another 40 minutes. She wasn't apologetic or nice. They were incredibly rude and i will never be back. For those looking for a 24 hour, just drive down the street to the Glen Ellyn one. Much nicer people. read more

It's true, this Walgreens is better stocked than most (better, not best) but customer service is severely lacking most of the time. There will usually be just one checkout person in the front covering the register and photo, on rare occasion there are two people. The pharmacy is ridiculous. You do literally wait 30 minutes whether it's the drive up or in store. I waited 30 minutes with only 3 people in front of me the other night. I had already paid for my medicine through the app. Just needed to pick it up. The fast lane is there but there isn't an extra body covering it. There is always an issue with almost every person. Sometimes it's their fault but most of the time I can see it's poor communication from the pharmacy and one person helping customers. The first person had not been to Walgreens before so it was a lot of questions and checking. I get that. The next person had insurance issues where they were telling her she had no insurance and the woman was like I just filled a script here 3 days ago with my insurance on file and that all took 15 minutes to sort out. The next guy gets up there and they tell him they don't have his medicine. He tells them I got a message it was ready and he shows them and they tell him, "well we had to order it. It'll be here in 2 days unless you want me to check if another store has it. The guy was polite but he asked why they wouldn't have called him to tell him that after waiting 3 hours and now it's 7pm at night. CVS is just as bad. The best thing we can all do is find a smaller, community pharmacy that actually cares about its customers. They are understaffed and that is corporate Walgreen's issue but the people they do have are pretty lackluster in my experience. Until a lot of us go elsewhere their business model is that we depend on them regardless of how they treat customers and that's why all of these enormous monopolies stay in business. read more

My wife is always nagging me to go to cvs "there people are so nice bla bla bla." Well all my prescriptions are at the Villa Park store and I'm satisfied I answer. After all over the passed years they only gave me someone else's prescription once. Boy did they take that back fast. Oh and the time they had me pick up a medication I no longer used. Cost me $25 and was told to throw it away and "have a good day." This last time they filled a prescription i refused 3 months ago . " Sorry," this was another $25 or possibly $50 I was instructed to trash, minus the "have a good day". What is going on? The employees there are rude, hiding in the backroom always different people, would rather shout information though the sliding drawer then use the intercom. Not Working? My doctor called in a new prescription to this pharmacy around 9 AM this morning. I never heard from them saying it was filled, so at 1 PM I finally just dragged myself in to pick it up. The pharmacist said, "We called your doctor two days ago. They haven't called us back." I said, "That's not even possible. I've never been in this pharmacy location before, and my doc phoned it in this morning." She said, "Isn't XXXX your phone number?" Yes. "And it is Dr. Van Buren?" I told her I'd never heard of a Dr. Van Buren. She said, "Isn't it for ______?" She named one drug, with a name that didn't match the three things my real doc prescribed for bronchitis. I left. Are they serious? Wrong doctor, wrong date, wrong everything? I had been their customer in 2009 in a different city, but even then, there was no Dr Van Buren! I will never use them again for pharmacy services. read more

As far as the store is concerned, they have every thing fully stocked and its super clean. As for the pharmacy, HOT MESS. When ordering my prescriptions the lady was so rude. When I went to pick up I could see why. It took me a whopping 20 minutes to pick my drugs up. The phone was ringing off the hook, and the lady at the front was clearly over whelmed. Another woman was attending the drive through and that seemed to be moving faster. Why are the people in the cars moving faster then the people who actually parked and came in????? Ugh! I was beyond annoyed. My doctor's office needed to call in a prescription and the closest Walgreens didn't have the meds in stock. They called around and discovered that this location did and so I drove here which was absolutely out of my way, but I needed the meds so I was grateful. It's like any other Walgreens with the pharmacy area (and a Healthcare Clinic) at the back of the store. I went back and the prescription wasn't ready. I was asked to wait. No problem. A bit later, they called my name over the loud speaker. Nope. No prescription for me. It's out of stock. Seriously? Didn't my nurse of 20+ years just call and you confirmed that it was in stock so I could immediately come pick it up? Yep. She did. And yep...you did. No offer of getting it in a few days or calling around or anything. Yeah I trudged out the door. Thanks for nothing. Except pointless miles on my car and wasted time from my life. read more

Two pharmacy drive thrus, that's what redeems this place. Believe me, it makes a difference. I once had to wait over 40 minutes at another Walgreen's drive thru and NO I could not get out, there was someone in front of me and in back of me. Plus yea, I feel like I get faster service at a drive thru than when I go onside. Lazy? Maybe. Anyways, I've been going to this Walgreen's since I can remember. They've had some questionable workers and I'll admit, their pharmacy is kinda hectic. I had needed a prescription filled and after a huge fiasco it turned out they got new computers and weren't properly trained on them. So the manager had to come, of course she took her sweet time, cause you now, people have all day to chill at their local Walgreen's. I've been coming here for years for my prescriptions over the years they've gotten steadily worse. The last two times my doctor sent electronic prescriptions they claim to have never received them even though my doctor showed me verification . The last time I went in to pick up insulin after their own app told me my prescription was ready when I got there they tried to give me an insulin bottle and syringe rather than the injectable pen I would always get! They finally gave me the correct product after I screamed and made a scene. Since they can't seem to find electronic prescriptions I brought in a paper one this time went to pick up my prescription and when I got home I found out they only gave me half of what I was supposed to get so now I have to go back again' They just can't seem to do anything right! This Walgreens is a bit of a problem, especially the Pharmacy but I recently had a very positive experience with the cashiers and photo department so I feel it deserves to be noted. I was preparing pictures and posters for a funeral service and quite honestly did not correctly select the proper boxes. I was there 4 days in a row trying to get it right. Each person I encountered at the checkout was patient, and extremely helpful. One of the cashiers, young African American lady/girl, spent 20 minutes on my phone trying to help me with my order. Needless to say I got it done and it was less frustrating because they were all so helpful. read more
