I dropped off my disposables 2 weeks ago to be developed and they told me it would take up to 10 days. I checked back after 10 days and they still were not ready, no problem I don't mind waiting. So i checked back again at the two week mark. There was nobody at the photo desk to assist me which is fine so I checked with the cashier to see if she could help me as there was no line to check out at the moment. She was incredibly rude when I repeated multiple times I needed assistance with picking up photos acting like she did not know what I was talking about. Eventually, she walked over to the counter to help me out and scolded me for not hitting the "assist" button, I promptly apologized as I had not seen the button and typically the cashier has no problem helping me otherwise. Nonetheless, I apologized and gave her my name to check to see if the photos were ready. With an attitude she told me they were not read yet. Again, I had no problem waiting a little longer but I really did not appreciate her making me feel like I was not allowed to check. She treated me like I was an inconvenience asking for help and told me it takes 3 weeks. In this case I corrected her and told her they told me 10 days, normally I wouldn't mind waiting if someone was actually assisting me and being friendly. She then cut me off and told me if I need additional help I would need to hit the button. For who to help me? There was nobody else in the store as I already walked around looking for someone before asking her for help. She then rudely walked away. Long story short, I have no problem waiting for my photos to be developed although it would be nice for them to let you know in the beginning it takes 3 weeks instead of 10 days. But I really did not appreciate her being rude and treating me like I should not ask for help. I never write negative reviews anywhere or speak to anyone in a rude matter so this situation was very out of the ordinary for me. read more

Ok. I'm going to update my review. Because they rate higher on my list now after many many many visits with no incident. I've lived in Red Mill for five years now and have used this pharmacy probably 50 times or more just Bc it's the closest to my home so it's easy. They're not perfect - but they're usually pretty good. It can get really busy but if you save a card for payment, call in prescriptions, create the online account so you can be emailed or texted when your prescription is ready, all of that can really save you time and headache. I use the drive-through later at night when I can and the wait is minimal and payment is fast and easy with my saved card on file. Staff inside at the counter (not pharmacy) are usually friendly and the inside of the store is well kept and clean. I'm usually grumpy when stopping in so it's tough to grade a pharmacy that's busy as hell when you wait in lines but over all those 50 trips they've managed to do pretty well and the new systems in place to streamline and minimize waits have really helped. I've also gotten flu shots here a few times and they're really fast, efficient and friendly staff make it easy to do as a walk-in. They accept my major insurance company or paperwork for annual flu shots and are really fast during the day when I stop in to get it (I've never waited more than 10 minutes). That's really easy and a nice thing to have done instead of having to book with my local doctor's office which can take a very long time. read more

Showed up today to pick up a couple of supplements saw that there were buy one get one went to the register and ended up being charged double what I expected when I went back to the register cashier stated it's only for people in our Customer Service program upon hearing that wasn't offered a free registration at at the register as is customary was offered to return I don't understand this. Why would somebody want to pay double for something if all they need is a free membership should be easy enough for the cashier to catch and fix at point of sale. Absolutely poor staff orientation to job title and customer service Spent $80 on $40 had to go before I said something sarcastic! read more

Adding to the list of annoyances experienced at this pharmacy, it's New Years Day, my patient's husband has a terrible tooth infection and needs antibiotics, but I'll be sitting in the parking lot for the next 45 minutes because they can't be bothered to change the pharmacy holiday hours on the phone recording. When I brought this up to the worker inside, he stated that they're posted on the door... Why yes, they are posted on the door. I had to drive all the way out from Pungo to see that they were in fact, not open. The last time I came to get meds for this patient, they were a full day late getting them ready--for a med they don't allow you to refill until the day you run out. This med is one for a severely disabled person who's been on them 20 years. The excuse was that there's an antibiotic shortage keeping them busy. Okay, the med isn't an antibiotic, maybe you should hire more staff. It's always something with this place. Partially filling prescriptions, changing policies, not being able to figure out my patient's insurance. I truly wish the people I work for would just switch pharmacies cause I never have these problems at any other pharmacy. read more

Horrible pharmacy professionalism. They recently took over for the Rite Aid that closed on Upton so I get they have an influx of patients, so therefore they need to update their calling system to warn patients of excessive wait times!! First I called and was on hold for 30 mins only to be hung up on by a staff member. Called back after waiting 46 min, I asked the man who answered the phone what was going on, he said I was lucky I didn't wait an hour and a half! On top of it they never told me they had wrong insurance info after I had waited all weekend for them to get a rx ready. No one called to tell me there was a hold, and the only reason for the hold was bc my correct info didn't transfer. The man was so rude on the phone, wouldn't let me get a word in and said he wouldn't apologize for long hold times. I get that, fine. But then I asked him about my medication and told him I called my insurance and there shouldnt be a hold. He told me my insurance was wrong and lectured me on how I was wrong about the medication. I gave him my correct insurance info , he ran it, and his only response was it will be ready in 30 mins. I said thank you and he hung up on me. I go In to pick up my rx , the line is so long, when I finally get to the front the girl cannot even find my medication bc they have so many rx overflowing from the boxes. They bit off wayyy more than they can chew here and need to be more respectful with their patients. I will never return, what an absolute nightmare. read more

I actually pass another drug store to go to this one. They abide to all current rules. Thinking of everyone's health and safety. This is a nice clean store and I don't even have to ask for help. The staff walk right up and ask you if you need help. I get great service most of the time. I was in for a very specific item. The staff looked in a few places because they were rearranging some shelves. But she did not give up until she found exactly what I needed. Walgreens would have to be my most frequented of pharmacies - not even particularly for prescriptions (thank God, and knock on wood,) but for over-the-counter goods, drugstore make-up, gifts, Hallmark Cards, snacks, what have you. This location is in Red Mill Commons, on the corner of Upton Drive and Nimmo Parkway. It has a good amount of parking. They have a great selection of items, toiletries, sometimes have great sales... everyone loves a good BOGO, or buy-one-get-one-fifty-percent-off deal! The Walgreens Balance Rewards program (card/app) is a must though, especially if you will frequent the place. Points add up quickly and before you know it, when the cashier rings you up, he/she will ask, did you want to use your $2 off reward? Ummm, yes!!! Every little bit helps, especially these days!! Customer service at this location is hit-or-miss, some visits I receive excellent CS, some days, not really. Shut the whole place down. Every single person in the pharmacy is trash. From the d bag man who answers the phone to Sarah plain and tall in the drive thru. This is the absolute worst Walgreens ever. I submitted a prescription a long time ago and was repeatedly told it was not in stock. I go into the store yesterday and there are cars around the building and 20 people in line. Of course I can't wait in a 2 hour line to ask when something will be available. I call they have over an hour and a half wait on the call and still nothing I waited on hold for an hour and a half. Keep trying the store and finally get there when there are THREE total cars in the drive thru, and 2 customers inside. Ask the lady at the drive thru what's going on and she is snotty AF plain Jane girl in her 20s was a complete bitch about it. We tried to show her the app isn't updated. We asked about if the phone system is working and she started getting angry complaining about Rite Aids being closed and how they aren't staffed properly like as if it's my question was outrageous. Really you can't answer the phone with 2 people in line? Really when I ask what's going on she acts like I'm the problem? This Walgreens is pathetic. It's the worst of the worst. The girl in the drive through needs some meds of her own. Snotty AF with a dumb look on her face as if it's unreasonable to ask what's wrong with the phone system. So she complains about management like that's my problem either. NOBODY at ANY job could be a complete b!tch like that and keep her job. Whatever school she graduated from taught her nothing about customer service and Walgreens definitely doesn't train them on it. Yes, they are Very busy after absorbing all the Rite Aid refugees. There is Always a wait, but the pharmacy staff work really hard, and I have always gotten good service here. The shot givers are great, and the pharmacy staff is very patient helping me get the best deal on my meds. I have been tempted to switch to someplace less crowded, but I have stayed for the quality of service. read more

Not the best of pharmacies. But is the choice for tricare. Could use a refresh as it is old. Parking is easy right off Nimmo PKWY Never had a problem getting a space close to the door. Typical pharmacy with all the stuff that you would expect. It can get bogged down in the drive through though so be prepped for a long wait. Never had a problem with the service. The pharmacists are all nice and are helpful. My main problem is that CVS up the street used to be the tricare place. Modern, nice, easy in and out helpful staff and better stuff inside. Walgreens is not bad but is up against tough competition up the street. If not tied to here by insurance would recommend CVS. read more

Went to this location to get my Covid booster. The clerks were busy, but no acknowledgement at all from anyone. That was kinda bothersome to me. But I waited, finally a women asked "what can I do for you" I told her what I wanted she informed me it would be a little bit of a wait. I was ok with that, as I looked around nobody was there. We waited about 45 minutes for a pharmacist to administer the shot. Nobody was pleasant at all. Only the pharmacist who came out of nowhere. He was the greatest. read more

I have been getting my prescriptions filled here for at least 15 years. Finally had enough and switched everything to another pharmacy. The most recurring issue is being told different things about medication being ready. The online system tells me one day and time, the staff tells me something different and to come back, I come back and once again someone else tells me yet another day and time. Keep in mind I am driving back and forth each time thinking it's time to pick up but leaving empty-handed. This can be extremely stressful when you are literally on your last bit of medicine and need it. I don't know why this happens regularly at this particular location but time to try somewhere new for my medication. I work in health care so I do try to be understanding about the stresses on the system and the staff but this is just basic organization and communication issues. The rest of the store is fine and I will continue to shop there. read more

I visited the Walgreens pharmacy at 1101 Nimmo Pkwy, Virginia Beach, VA 23456 with a serious issue. My 5 year old son was prescribed a prescription for an antibiotic, but was unable to swallow the medicine due to it's horrible taste. The prescription was filled by a local CVS, but we prefer to shop at Walgreens based on product selection. When I arrived, I was greeted nicely by a pharmacy staff member, who seemed eager to help in providing 'some sweetener'. But asked to speak with the pharmacist first... I didn't hear her question, but I absolutely overheard the extremely rude response from the pharmacist; "if it was filled at CVS, why is this my problem! Tell him to go back there and bother them!" It seemed like he was angry that she would even ask... Newsflash, it's called customer service; but don't worry, I'm happy to take my business elsewhere. read more

Pharmacy is a nightmare I don't think it's the employee's fault there underpaid and understaffed there is only one pharmacist on duty at a time and one assistant and that is just not enough to keep up with the heavy traffic in this location it blows my mind that they will let things run this way and let all these poor reviews flood the internet. Very frustrating when you cancel a prescription, have a family member go to pick up the "new prescription" the dr calls in and the pharmacy gives you the wrong one. When you call the only thing they say is, "oh, sorry about that. You can locate a nearby pharmacy to dispose of the Rx you do not need." What about the money I just wasted? What about the fact it was canceled? What about making sure people get the correct RX? Not happy today and I have been a customer for years and years! read more

Besides the long waits and Even after standing there at the counter and no one at least acknowledging that you're even standing there. Several times after calling in a refill, get there to pick it up and it hasn't been filled. The best thing they ever done was when picking up amoxicillin, there was powder in the bottles and were not mixed with water so when I got home with the sick child I had to go back out and have walgreens mix the medication. Poor customer service for both the pharmacy and the photo service. One of the ladies working in the pharmacy lost my daughter's prescription. Another had an attitude when I went to pick it up and it wasn't there. Had to call the doctor to send another script and wait another 40 minutes. As far as the photo service, workers are never there when you go to pick up photos, even during the holiday season. I've waited 10 minutes and walked out without photos. What a waste of the customer's time. We will be switching to CVS for both photo service and pharmacy. read more

This store isn't bad but the pharmacy is the worst. Photo dept I would offer 5 stars. The pharmacy (negative stars) I gave up on years ago. 2-3 times I have tried it since swearing it off and today was the LAST straw. Returned 30 minutes (after my husband's insistence to use them.....ugh) after dropping prescription AT DRIVEUP and drive thru window was closed TO PICKUP (do you understand you service people who are probably too sick to walk in?) ....so i went in and waited 7 people deep. THEN they informed me that my insurance wasn't paying for prescriptions because February premium wasn't paid. OMG SOOOO (I CANNOT BELIEVE IT IS MARCH) MY FAULT, no sarcasm really. My fault - if you deal with the marketplace insurance, I was waiting on a newly submitted income sheet yada yada it was my fault but sigh. Called insurance, paid and they told me would update in 5-10 minutes. Well, it didn't and the dismissive (ok snotty) pharmacy tech could have cared less as my husband was home in pain wondering what was taking so long. ATTITUDE goes a long long way and one of you ruined it for all. I saw the drive thru was open again so I thought I would drive thru and see if by that time insurance had updated. It hadn't. Retrieved my husband's prescriptions and headed to Harris Teeter pharmacy where I was immediately met with warmth, understanding AND insurance still hadn't updated but they have a program that saved us money and I was done and PAID in 15 minutes. Hmmm 1 1/2 hour debacle with Walgreen's (the latest of many issues with their pharmacy - oh and none of their drive thru components worked, including a tech talking to me by lifting up the tray) or 15-20 minutes in Harris Teeter with a Starbucks and friendly staff? I absolutely hate coming to this Walgreens for filling prescriptions. I never have a positive experience, but it's the only one close to me open 24 hrs. I came in today, and I don't think I'll ever come back. The Pharmacist sees me and I smile back at him. He doesn't even acknowledge me. None of the Pharmacy Techs acknowledges me either. I understand you're busy, so I waited....and waited. I decided to leave after 20 minutes of not being acknowledge. I'll pay more for my prescriptions at Target or CVS. read more

The staff helped me get my prescription transferred with no trouble at all and every interaction I've had with employees on the pharmacy side or store side has been nothing but positive. Rarely do I go there without an unacceptably long wait. Not infrequently the wait is torturous. Why do I go there? Health Care Plan has made only Walgreens and Walmart as "preferred"pharmacies -if I choose to go elsewhere I pay an additional surcharge. Thanks Obamacare! I had to switch pharmacies when Tricare booted CVS out of their network and went back to Walgreens, who I left for the same reason years ago, and this time around they can't get their stuff together. They claim a computer glitch on not being able to charge my secondary insurance, tricare, but even when I tell them when I drop off a script they can't manage. I talked to the manager last time and he was very nice and concerned and told me they were working on the problem. A month later and still no difference so I'm looking for a new pharmacy. They need to hire more competent people, I can half way understand the problem if it's a refill or if I didn't tell them when I dropped off the script but I told the lady when I dropped it off and she confirmed it back to me so she can't say she didn't hear or misunderstood me. What make it worse is when my wife goes to pick it up for me the tell the copay is $4, she tells them to run the other insurance then they say its $8, Obviously she didn't know what she was doing, when my wife got home and told me what happened I called the pharmacy and the lady that answered looked into it and told me to bring my receipt and they'd fix it because there should be no copay. My wife was in a hurry and didn't have time to deal with the lunacy. I recommend you look else where. read more

This pharmacy does not have good customer service nor do they have safety as a priority. My husband went to pick up his medication that he was told via txt by them was ready and when he got there they told him "we have lost one of your Rx's can you come back later"!?!!?! What irresponsible staff! I would highly recommend going elsewhere for your medication needs. Their staff also does not understand how to use Pharmaceutical Company Coupon Cards to assist with the cost of new-to-the-market drugs - I had to explain to them how to use it and then when they had trouble I had to come into the pharmacy and ask that they call the number that was provided for Pharmacist to call for trouble shooting!!! Then when I asked for my written Script back so that I could take it to another Pharmacy who is compentent I watched as they spent 1hr scouring their Pharmacy for the written Scritp!!!! Needless to say I have taken the Rx to CVS where their Pharmacist said the problem has a very simple fix and my Rx should be ready in 1-2 days! read more
