David is truly gifted at what he does and does a great job not only teaching you how to support your dog in their training and development, but also building confidence in your ability to lead. I learned so much about myself and my approach to discipline and it was quite eye opening to see how my personal behaviors impact my puppy's development. We went on a walk and got great tips on how to correct my reactive puppy's energy. By the end of the walk my puppy was almost a changed dog. She went from barking at every dog in sight to staying calm with minimal barking. We've noticed that after this walk, her attitude is more inquisitive and receptive. Our Dog (Ella) is a large breed work dog, and since we live in a loft Downtown, she was constantly 'getting into trouble' and misbehaving - from an apparent lack of exercise. Pretty Much absolutely amazing. I was very hesitant hiring a dog walker, because i am "slightly" over -protective of my first puppy...never owned a dog before. but i was forced because of mine and my boyfriends schedule to hire a dogwalker. We have known David and the Walk Fido team for nearly a decade. We have NEVER had an issue over the many years we have been a customer. In fact, they bring observations in subtle changes in our two pups behavior to our attention. Just earlier this week we got a report about something observed in our big dog's elimination. We took him to our vet the next morning and, sure enough, there was a serious issue that we were able to quickly address because of a report from the Walk Fido walker. I wish I did not have to admit there have been times when we've turned to them for emergency access to our spare loft key because one of us has locked ourselves out while the other has been too far away to immediately help. Reliable isn't a strong enough word. David's team has become part of our pack and they are the only folks we trust with care of our two fur babies. Walk Fido is amazing. My two dogs have been going on daily walks since September 2011, so I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to write a review. One of my dogs has dog aggression issues, and I used to get nervous every time I walked her. Someone from Walk Fido saw me struggling one day, and stopped to give me a few tips. I was so grateful, and it was clear they knew what they were talking about. I decided to scheduled an In-Home Consultation right away. David is so kind and patient and also extremely knowledgeable. He really took the time to go through a home routine, and even took me out on a walk with my dogs to help teach me how to handle Moxy's issues. It really gave me the confidence that I needed and have made our walks much more enjoyable for both me and my dogs. After that I knew I wanted them to go on group walks everyday. It gives me peace of mind knowing that Moxy and Zeb get to go on adventures with a whole pack of dogs and aren't stuck inside the whole time I'm at work. I've also had Walk Fido take care of my dogs while I was on vacation, and it makes being away so much less stressful knowing they're in capable hands. We have been using David's team at Walk Fido for almost a year now. They came to our rescue when we had a baby last year and we have used them ever since. David goes above and beyond to provide as much comfort to our pup as he can - by communicating clearly with the dog walkers about the needs of our pup and pick-up details. While on maternity leave I met several of the dog walkers. Each were kind and considerate, and knew the pick-up routine details that we may have told David or another walker (sticky door, knock not doorbell, where the collar is, etc.). I've never noticed any inconsistencies with the group he employs. His walkers provide a calm, assertive energy that allows our pup to feel like one of the pack on the walks, making the walks beneficial both physically and mentally. We have used them for out of town service and he has allowed our pup to stay with them overnight rather than coming back to the house, when his schedule and the business schedule allows. They frequent DTLA neighborhoods, so while you might pay a same day/next day charge you know you have options for a dog walker in an emergency. I work long shifts that are too long for my pup be to be alone. I used to take her to a daycare place in Dtla but she smelled like urine after. She got kennel cough at another place. The staff gets bored a comment by David (read original review)....putting the dogs 2nd and the staff 1st. 2. 3-4+ people in a clients house when they are not around giving people access to house, personal belongings, etc. 3. 3-4+ dog walkers all need to be versed in the lay-out of someone's house, so when are all those walkers trained? 4. Who is teaching these walkers & replacement dog walkers your dogs names, quirks, habits, where their food is kept, where the meds are kept. Callie M from Walk Fido wrote: "to ensure that every dog gets the right amount of exercise and healthy socialization with other dogs every time they are out on a walk" 5. Socialization on dog walks with other dogs? Hmm, I rarely encounter very many other dogs when I walk my own dogs in my neighborhood, so your comment makes me think that my dogs will get picked up in a van with 20 other dogs and get shuttled to a dog park? Or walked with several other dogs? How would know if I wasn't around? 6. I understand you need back-up walkers if people are out of town or get sick. I get that, but 3-4+, and no telling in total how many in 30 days does tell me a lack of consistency in service at a time when dogs are stressed out already from owners leaving town. When owners go out of town dogs become stressed out, that is a time when they need consistency and bonding with a walker that will make them feel comfortable. Hands down, the best obedience training that my dogs have EVER received!! I have 2 very anxious & active rescue Aussies that have failed most attempts at training. I had even given up on my one pups terrible walking skills ... He would pull so hard, his tongue would turn purple!! In the first 3 minutes of David meeting my pup Owen, he was able to immediately identify key issues, and in less than 10 minutes, had him walking loose on a leash! I never thought I would see the day! David has an incredible presence with the dogs, and a great way of being able to educate myself and my husband. I LOVE these guys. I recently got a job, so I'm away from home for long hours. My young high-energy boxer got kicked out of two doggie daycares for having too much energy and pissing off the other dogs with his bossiness. We used Walk Fido's services for a year while living in downtown LA within their service area. They were professional in every way, requiring a meet and greet with our two dogs before agreeing to start the scheduled walks. They do require a 24 hour notice before cancelling a scheduled walk, which is understandable but has been annoying when my wife's work schedule changes abruptly and she's at home for the day with the dogs. read more

They were always able to accommodate our requests, even on short notice. There were a few occasions where there were some difficulties - they couldn't convince our dog to go to the bathroom on her walks, and then she'd go to the bathroom in her crate - but they helped us resolve those and moved on. There were some issues with this dog walking service. I met with David, the owner, who seemed nice and was well versed with dogs and dog walking. However, David never walked my dog the entire two weeks or so that I had hired him. I understand that there are five people who are dog walkers under him. It seems like he manages these walkers but does not actually walk the dogs himself. So I never met with any of the people who were coming in and out of my apartment and walking my dog. Not to mention, it was not the same dog walker each time. That was one issue. I think continuity of care goes a long way especially with dogs. Miscommunication. There was miscommunication between David and I and David and the dogwalkers throughout my whole experience. Initially David made it seem like it would be fine to text or email me after the walks each day. Then after the first day, I received no text or email and he then told me that they would not be doing that. anymore. My dog and I have now lived in two different states in which the dog walkers would text or email me everyday. David told me that they had too many dogs and it was not feasible to do this service. That in itself is telling me that this is not a very personalized service and they seem rushed if they cannot even text a one sentence text. When it comes to my dog, this level of service is not ok with me. In addition, other dog walkers and doggy daycares in LA provide this service. He did say that If I wanted I could have a log book in which the walkers would write down how the walk was. So I said yes to the log book. The dog walker pretty much wrote 2 words : yes or no. (first yes or no question was if my dog pooped. Second was if anything was wrong). Several times, the dog walker would answer that something was wrong with absolutely no explanation or reason. I talked to David about it and apparently the dog walker didn't understand and nothing was actually wrong. It happened again. So pretty much the log book was useless and just a waste of trees. One day I came home and there was dog poop everywhere. I called David and he looked into it and no one had walked my dog that day. If I did not call David, I never would have known that no one came to walk my dog. So there was a lot of miscommunication going on. These little miscommunications are not a big deal until something bad happens. I was not comfortable communicating with David and kind of felt bullied about the whole text/email/log book fiasco and also felt like he gave me a lot of excuses. My dog is like my child so I am not ok with mediocre service or a lot of miscommunication and mistakes. David did always respond to my texts and phone calls. He apologized for the day that my dog did not get walked. He also did not charge me for the last week of service since multiple incidents had occurred that week. I hope they improve in the future. read more

Walk Fido changed my life. I know, it sounds really dramatic right? But it is 100% true. About a year ago, I found myself working all the time, leaving little time to properly exercise my pooch.
