Wow! I don't even know where to be good. We got recommended happy puppy LA by one of our neighbors who said it was by far one of the best sporting experiences she's had in the greater LA area. We are so glad we listened. After our Dog Walker wasn't able to watch our dog over the Thanksgiving holiday, we were desperate to find somewhere that cared and loved our pup as much as we do. Happy puppy LA and their entire staff was an absolute dream to work with. They were accommodating, responsive, and very proactive and handling what became a scheduling nightmare due to an unfortunate last-minute stop at the emergency room for our dog before heading off to boarding. The staff worked tirelessly over the Thanksgiving holiday to make sure that our dog, Rosie, got the care that she needed. The daily Pupdates were always our favorite part of the day, being away from her, and let us see that she was well taken care of. Eric and Emily were phenomenal! I just moved to the area and needed to find a new boarding facility for my dog. They arranged an initial intro call and answered all of my concerns. Eric also spent some time to educate me on other questions I had about my dog's behavior. They then picked my dog up promptly with a shuttle and proceeded to send me daily updates showing my dog playing in the large green spaces and going on her daily walks. Anyone looking for the best, caring, amazing team for their dog, read this. I looked high and low and called so many places to find the best one to send my 7mo puppy for boarding and training (I was pretty nervous about leaving him). I could not have chosen better! From the personal home pickup, where Eric tells you all about their place, training methods and any information you might need, to the daily pictures and videos that we received through their app, to now, about 1month+ after his return, where my little guy is still continuing the training that he learned at Happy Puppy LA...everything was perfect! He was a fearful little rescue who couldn't be picked up, who would run and hide under beds and couches to not get grabbed, had never really been socialized, would bark and shake at other people (when I could actually catch him for a walk)... he learned to trust humans, learned to walk on leash and is way more social than before! I'm really committed to continuing the tricks and training that Eric passed on to me during drop-off and its paying off like I never would've thought. Thank you a million times, Happy Puppy LA. Happy Puppy has been super helpful in helping to train and socialize my anxious chihuahua puppy, Sam. We've done private trainings with Eric, as well as both board + trains, and standard boarding at their facility and my once incredibly fearful and disobedient pup can now follow basic puppy commands and has enough confidence to sniff other dogs and say hi to passersby on our walks - unthinkable a few months ago. We have a daycare place we like, but when we started looking into boarding places for our ~1 year old dog, we were really disappointed. We both had horrible feelings about leaving her in a facility with 20+ other dogs and a real lack of direction or oversight from the staff. The places we looked at were dingy and unimpressive, and didn't feel at all like home to us... until we found Happy Puppy! The Resort is just a converted house, so it felt just like we were leaving her with a friend. The place is well kept and the outdoor space is perfect for puppy play! Eric and the team are amazing, and made us feel totally at ease about leaving our pup for 2 weeks for our wedding and honeymoon. Whenever we leave her with them we get daily video/picture updates and a heads up if they have any concerns about her. I've been meaning to write this for a while, but just now had a few moments to put down my thoughts. On Dec 8, 2021, we (quite unexpectedly) found ourselves to be rescuing an 7 week old Old English Sheepdog/St. Bernard puppy. Not having much experience with puppies (the other dogs I've had were over a year old when I rescued them), we were quickly overwhelmed. We happened upon Happy Puppy LA and were referred to Michael. He has been a godsend. His humor and patience, particularly with new puppy parents (not to mention the puppy) has been exceptionally helpful and reassuring and the positive reinforcement approach he's helped us use has been very effective. Eric was recommended to me by my vet. Initially, I was a little apprehensive because there aren't a lot of yelp reviews. But Eric has been a life-saver. My new pup/teen dog has so much energy and without knowing how to direct it properly he was raising hell in my apartment. He didn't know how to walk on leash and walking him became a chore, he was chewing through everything, was peeing on the carpet all the time. Within one session, Eric made my dog learn how to walk on leash. He taught the dog how to sit and instead of jumping, calmly ask for food. He is very patient, and always answers my text messages or calls. Watching him train my dog is just magic! I am learning so much from him on how to be a good trainer. Highly recommended! read more

Eric and Lauren are angeles! We have been working with them the last three weeks to help our terrier with biting, fear of children and overall training. Immediately after the first session we noticed a significant improvement. Eric provides you and your puppy with great tools to help achieve the results you're looking for. Lauren has been helping us potty train a new one we just adopted and they absolutely love her. She sends tons of pictures and updates on how things are going. She also was went out of our way to help us with an unfortunate boarding experience with a different company. I don't know what I would have done without her! Eric and Lauren are both very kind and professional and have extensive training knowledge. We have had many trainers throughout the years and no one compares to them. No need to look any further. The resort was perfect for my work/vacation weekend getaway to LA, I needed a couple days to board my dog (Austin). Eric was very helpful and I felt like he genuinely cared about my pets Comfort. The resort was affordable, (considering the personalized care and the amenities offered) and extremely nice!!! Eric even sent me video updates of Austin playing with other dogs!!!! Our puppy has severe separation anxiety and we have a really difficult time finding places where she can happily stay. Eric has created a heaven on earth for her, and I'm sure many dogs like her. Because the Resort has a limit on its number of dogs, she is never overwhelmed; it truly is the closest thing to being home with us, especially since it's built similar to a house. There a beautiful backyard where the dogs play; they are super well monitored and are divided by temperament and size when going outside to play to ensure everyone's happy. Also, Eric is extremely communicative and sends daily videos and pictures. The first time we left our dog, we were really nervous, and our anxieties were totally quelled by Eric's regular communication and the videos of Gussie playing, clearly happy and having a great time. We've since been leaving Gussie for day care (you can book by the hour! We can finally see a movie or go to yoga together!) which is an amazing option for us. We can leave Gussie for just a few hours and know she's in the best possible hands. Finally, just so you know, our pup gets so excited when she sees Eric, which is the best review of all. read more

We met Eric, the owner, a few months ago to learn some much needed skills for our pup (and more importantly, us). We appreciated Eric's style so much that we gave The Resort a try a few weeks later. Our Frenchie has now had a few stays at The Resort and has loved each visit. We feel very confident leaving him there for the unfortunate times we have to board him; more importantly, our pup looks forward to the visits. Not only does Eric run a clean facility but it's so well thought out to support a safe play environment that has also allowed him to get more much-needed socialization. My bulldog Winkston has been to see many different trainers and I have not seen much improvement in the past. I must express how grateful I am to have found Happy Puppy. Eric is extremely friendly, very professional, and most importantly knows exactly what he is doing. Eric is by far the most passionate and knowledgeable dog trainer I have come across. His calm, kind, friendly yet confident demeanor is so reassuring. He is really positive and knows exactly what he's doing. Our puppy was nuts and in just a few sessions, Eric really helped to calm her behavior and nerves as she was displaying insecurities that made her bark and pee when she met people and other dogs. My dog Cali is one lucky dog. I used Happy Puppy for Cali's training so I decided to give the resort a shot when I went out of town. Was not disappointed. What I love most is the consistency of the training- I get to reinforce what we already learned in training at the resort. I can't stress enough how unique and wonderful this place is. The home setting, and knowledge of the staff sets it apart from other boarding facilities. I can board my pampered pup guilt free and the best part about it, is he comes home stress free and acts like his normal self. When boarding him at other upscale but traditional kennel facilities or daycare facilities in the past, my dog comes home and has diarrhea, and is comatose for a few days. The resort limits to a dozen or less dogs at a time and I really think this minimizes stress. I feel so lucky to have found this place. read more

We left our darling Yogi for two weeks at Happy Puppy and could not have been happier with their care! Eric and Rashi run a wonderful boarding and daycare center. They deliver a personal experience for every dog. For instance, they sent us daily videos of Yogi to keep us updated. The dogs spend most of their day outdoors with other dogs of similar temperament. When I got Chi she was so high strung, I tried training her on my own and quickly realized I didn't have the time, patience or know-how to get through the initial stages of training. Eric was really great with her, made a lot of progress in a surprisingly short amount of time and taught me some really simple ways to work with her. There are many dog walker, pet training, boarding/sitting businesses out there, but that's just it, they are businesses. Happy Puppy on the other hand feels far more intimate. They have the sincerity I was searching for to make sure my precious Pomerian-Shih Tzu pup wouldn't feel like one of the bunch but rather get individual, specialized care. The treatment of the relationship at Happy Puppy, be it with me or my puppy, is with a genuine personal touch. I have no hesitation leaving my precious boo under their care. As I've relied on them for boarding needs, each time I see my poo, she couldn't be happier. There's always this sparkle in her eye and I can tell she's been well looked after. If you're as protective of your pet, as I am or just as most owners are, you know how hard it is to trust and let go in the care of someone unfamiliar. With Happy Puppy there's no hesitation, in fact often times I get the feeling they know the right things to do and teach my girl better than I do. I have to say that's a great feeling and I'm happy I have found someone I can trust. here's the bottom line- If you're busy and want to cut to the chase- you won't find any better method than positive reinforcement. And you won't find a better trainer to introduce you to this method than Eric. this was my first experience with Positive Reinforcement training. I've worked with other training styles/trainers in the past, but I have honestly never seen such remarkable results. And, more than that, I've never seen such healthy relationships between dogs and their owners. In attending Eric's classes, I've witnessed so many different breeds and stories- from two over-active German Shepherd puppies to tiny chihuahuas with terrible fear and anxiety- and I've seen Eric's training change every case for the better. Of course, it takes patience and commitment, but the rewards are more than ample. the point where it clicked for me was watching Eric and his wife Lauren spend time with a wolf hybrid they were boarding and training together. The trust established between them was truly an inspiring thing. I cannot recommend Happy Puppy enough. If you want a deeper and more rewarding relationship with your canine family member, this is a choice you won't regret. Having briefly experienced Eric in training mode, I can say the RESORT space is perfectly fitting for Happy Puppy. It's progressive and the care matches the positive training methods used from private training and classes. The RESORT is a small home that is modern and clean. There are sleepers in the living room and there is a play area in the back. I love that they only take in a minimal amount of dogs - my puppy gets to socialize but just enough where he doesn't get overwhelmed. I also get fun videos and updates every day. I hate leaving my terrier but I feel much better knowing that he's at the RESORT when I have to be away. It's the closest thing to "home"! read more

My husband and I reached out to Eric / Happy Puppy a few years ago when we relocated to Los Angeles from the Bay Area and had a distressed dog on our hands. Our toy Pomeranian Taos was having a lot of trouble adjusting to our new neighborhood where he was constantly around other dogs. With Eric's help Taos slowly but surely came out of his shell and grew noticeably happier and more comfortable out on walks, around other dogs, and driving in our car. Eric is by far the most talented trainer we have ever worked with - he has an incredible way of relating to dogs and quickly assessing dynamics between dog/owner to help resolve any issues. Taos has now been going to daycare at the RESORT once a week and is always the happiest we ever see him when he comes home from a day of running around in the grass and playing with other dogs at the RESORT - a safe, clean, supervised, friendly environment.
