You will not find a better dog walking "duo". Nicole is amazing and really cares for your pet, and her partner in crime, Abby, is a sweetheart. She is an amazingly neutral, well-behaved dog that is a great partner for walking with your pet as well. She goes above and beyond for my pup, Oliver, and he is actually obsessed with her and Abby. We get daily pictures of their adventures & walks, and I know it is his favorite part of the day (even more so than my return from work). We look forward to many more years with Nicole and Abby as our Kirkland dog walker.

Nicole is the best - don't hesitate to use her services. Nicole comes and walks our dog kau several times a week - sometimes it's a neighborhood walk, a park visit or a dog park visit. We never worry when Nicole is caring for him - she is always on time and extremely reliable. She sends both my husband and myself texts and photos indicating what they are doing including if he has done his business!! Kau loves her!! It is extremely hard to find someone who cares for your dog as much as you do but Nicole does. She is a true animal lover! Thank you Nicole!

Einat, the owner, is very responsive and clearly cares about both her customers and her employees--and it shows in the quality of their service. Charlie typically had the same walkers at the same time each week. They were all professional, caring, attentive, and TRUE dog lovers! I loved Strut the Pup's daily walk reports and photos, which gave me peace of mind knowing he was being well taken care of while I was at work. On a few occasions when I was working from home, I watched as his regular walker arrived--Charlie would be waiting at the window and greeted them with full-body wags every time. When Charlie's hips started bothering him as he got older, the team helped me adjust his walks so he could continue enjoying his outdoor adventures. Sadly, Charlie has since passed, but I've saved many of the walk-report photos his walkers took (like this one), and they remain some of my favorite pictures of him. Thank you, Einat and team, for taking such wonderful care of Charlie.

I love picking them up and seeing them too busy playing to take notice, doing their spin moves and play bows. It's great! I love that she uses positive methods to motivate and reward dogs. That's the environment our dogs are accustomed to at home, so it's comforting to know that's how they're treated at BD. And something that I didn't think about myself... She uses good quality treats, not the cheap stuff. If you've done any amount of research regarding dog food, you'll be happy knowing that Tina has done her homework too! Now for the service... Tina is a very sweet and positive lady. You can sense that when you talk to her and watch her work. She's also very accommodating, working with us when running late (or early) and adjusting when we're called out of town unexpectedly. Her location makes it ultra-convenient as well, being just a couple of blocks off the freeway. We can zip in or out when commuting to Seattle (or running late to the airport). To sum it up, Tina and BARKe Diem give peace of mind when we need someone to care for dogs. Absolutely top-notch dog care!

In the last 12 months, Le Pouf has sent 10 different dog walkers instead of having one consistent walker as in prior years. Here are the top things that have changed in the last year: 1. My dog was attacked by another dog Le Pouf was walking, I received a text saying that my dog was "sneezing blood but everything looked ok". I left several VM, emails, and text messages but Le Pouf didn't respond to my messages to explain what happened. It also cost me $1200 in vet fees because the other dog shattered my Shi Tzu's teeth. 2. I stopped by my home during the day to pick up something and the dog walker was sitting on my couch watching TV with her dirty feet on my leather couch. 3. The last month Le Pouf would often text me late morning saying "my schedule is full and I can't walk your dog today" I struggled to make alternative arrangements when they cancelled 2 hours before the scheduled walk. After the 7th cancellation withing a 2 week period I decided to make alternative arrangements for my dog. Too bad about Le Pouf because I was really fond of the prior owner Alisa, she always went the extra mile to ensure your pet was safe, happy and well-cared for.

Julie Forbes, the Sensitive Dog trainer saved us! Our 11 month old adopted puppy, Haggis was…read moreadorable, but soon became known in the neighborhood as Haggis the Horrible. He devolved into a frenzy of barking when any person, dog, bike, car, or even a garbage can was in his field of view. My vet recommended Ahimsa, which was absolutely no help. Haggis failed their Growley Class and thus was barred from any further classes. I did one on one training with them that was a complete waste of time and left poor little Haggis catatonic with fear. I never returned. The wonderful people at Portland Dachshund Rescue, where we adopted Haggis from, encouraged me to find a trainer who had worked with Dachshunds before, and or really understood how to help sensitive dogs. My hunt for a new trainer took over a year! But it was well worth the time and energy. When I contacted Julie I was hopeless and a bit frantic myself. We had to cancel vacations because poor Haggis couldn't tolerate anyone in the house except me and my husband. Julie was terrific! She talked me down off the imaginary cliff I was on and we signed up for the initial lessons. I warned her Haggis would bark at her the entire time, which he pretty much did. But Julie ignored him and kept talking to us over his barking. Haggis finally wore himself out and curled up at my feet throwing a stink-eye at Julie occasionally to reminder her he was watching her. Then a remarkable thing happened. Julie taught us a calming game for Haggis. She had us lead him through the basics while she continued to ignore his chuffs. After a few trials of learning the game, Haggis completely forgot about Julie. He was absorbed in the sniff game, which utilized all dachshunds's super skill: their nose! Haggis ran through the game eager to do it again and again. He approached Julie without barking and looked up at her wanting to play *with* her, instead. At the end of the lesson he jumped up on her couch and sat next to her, content with his new friend. Each class with Julie provided a similar breakthrough for Haggis. At the second class Haggis, bound out of the car, ran up to Julies classroom and barked to be let in. Haggis's affection never wavered for Julie, an neither did ours. WE learned valuable tools and correct training techniques to help Haggis overcome his fear aggression. Within months, Haggis stopped barking at people and let them approach to say hi. Dogs were still something he preferred to keep across the street from him, but soon he stopped barking like a frenzied Doberman ready to attack (I had two Dobermans and they were the sweetest boys!). I am grateful and astonished to say that with Julie's training and guidance, Haggis has no problem letting dogs pass him on the sidewalk and has made a few walking buddies in our neighborhood. Haggis, once the Horrible, has turned into Haggis the Adorable! And Julie Forbes deserves 100% of the credit. We are indebted to her forever!!!!

You name it I tried it. I knew in my heart Pirate was trainable. My husband said "no more, we will just keep him away from people", :0 I decided maybe we needed a dog Psychologist or behaviorist. So I started looking online. Most of the reviews were about putting dogs on drugs. Well I had done that before and Pirate bit our neighbor. As it turns out he was more aggressive on them. Then I saw an ad for "Sensitive Dog". One particular review was so heartfelt and it sounded like all my issues with Pirate, plus all the reviews were great. My husband was willing to do one last try. Julie at Sensitive dog was everything Pirate and I needed.!!!! The first appointment was so positive. It was 2 1/2 hours observing Pirate, talking to me at length about all our issues with him. She was a nice mix of reward based training as well as consequential training. It's such a great mix and you can tell that she really cares about you and your dog. It may seem like a lot of money, but it's really not, because you will get so many valuable lessons and solutions. The one that stands out most in my mind, is that dogs need mental stimulation. Julie gave me lots of ways to help him get his mind working. When I got home, for a week, I tried some of her suggestions for mental games. It was amazing, he got calmer and less reactive. That's just one example of our success. The most important one was that he became much better with our grand kids! We have lots of ways now to get him to be safe with them. If you're reading this and can relate, go ahead and make the appointment you'll be so glad you did! Julie is a natural and Pirate adores her!
