Cheese crisps. Hatch green chilies. Pizza. Cotton candy. Rides for the kids and a few for the adults. Lots of shaded areas to rest and eat both. A concert will happen tonight. And don't forget to vote for your favorite art, quilt or cake.

It feels like a small town where everyone knows everyone. Great food every year by Steve's BBQ, the ladies in the booth with cheese crisps and hatch chile burritos, Pony Espresso drinks and smoothies, and AJ Masamas Fry Bread. Wonderful entertainment over the years by acts like Skip Banks, Greg Frisbee, Godfrey the Magician, The Conjurer, Slim and Curly aka Fables of the West, Matt Baker, and many more. Love that they have some form of entertainment strolling the grounds on a regular basis. One thing I truly miss is the music of George Johnson. He was a staple at this fair for close to 20 years (17 or 18, I believe). There are so many people that still talk about him each year and wish he would return. Many kids in the area grew up dancing in the covered area near his music tent. Hopefully, that tradition can be revived in the future. We have seen several fun bands on the main music stage also. Two favorites are Checker'd Past and Eric Dodge. Fun 80's music and some good ol' country music. The fair makes the most of the space they have and have the rodeo grounds, games , and carnival rides mostly to one side with rides extending along the back of the fair past the main stage. We have seen improvements made over the years, especially to the animal areas. Nice to see a fair reinvest in its own grounds and buildings to improve the overall experience. Weather can be odd from year to year. Last year it was very rainy and cold and other years it has been very hot and dusty. Can be very windy also so you may want to secure that hat on your head or have a tie so it doesn't completely blow away.

There were pull pork, salad, corn bread and butter, mac & cheese, some kind of purple-ish cold slaw, mash potatoes and gravy, and a homemade cinnamon apple cake. Several different bbq sauces. They served some alcohol. You have to buy it, of course. The entertainment was funny and great. Loved all the songs they sang. Dinner started at 7pm. Entry to dinner started at 6:30pm. All the young servers were great. They were busy and helpful. They had animals, birds, mini golf, this 4 table ping pong table, escape room, axe throwing, old photo shoot ($15pp), mini museum, big chess game, connect 4, etc. But we didn't get to enjoy all the games because we accidentally took the long way to get to Blazin' M Ranch. Instead of 30 mins, it took us like 45 mins ish. By the time we arrived, everyone was starting to go in the barn for the dinner and show. We really enjoyed this event. https://blazinm.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=gbp

The best is to grab a strong beverage of choice or two at the saloon beforehand to make it all so much funnier. A few extra fun touches before the dinner show:: a mini rail ride around the property and hanging out with the petting zoo animals. We paid for our old west portraits to get taken and at $40 for a couple to try on the costumes and make it happen was fun. As far as the petting zoo, bring some fresh produce in your pockets for the goats and the absolutely charming mini horse Gucci. He steals the petting zoo show. The dinner: soooo much great BBQ and dessert. We had delicious smoked chicken and pulled pork. Sides of Mac and cheese, homemade slaw, honey glazed corn bread, homemade mashed potatoes and the award winning grandmas apple cinnamon powdered cake. They encourage you to grab seconds. We couldn't even finish our firsts. Ok the show: it was outright hilarious. The owners and hired gun Eric Wildman Williams absolutely put on the next comedy and music infused hour show. You won't want that to ever end. I cannot say this enough: it was well worth the VIP package price we paid. If 10/5 stars were available, that's what they would get.

While making the reservation I made a note that our oldest son is autistic and non-verbal and his only form of communication so that staff was aware we decided to give this place a try. After spending close to $800 on food for our party we decided to exit the restaurant and that is when the problems began. As we were walking out another customer at the bar a patron at the bar decided to squeal at my son but also yell into his face. When who I assumed was her daughter realized we saw what was going on she covered her mouth and told her to stop. Being adults and understanding of others different situations we decided the best method was to approach the management team and explain the situation. I then approached a manger who was wearing a pink colored collared shirt and explained to her what happened and her response was "that hurts my heart, we do not stand for that and we will definitely do something about this." We waited outside for about 15 minutes to see what was going to be done and once we saw nothing was I went back in to speak to the general manager. This was definitely the worst part of the night. Tiana came out to speak to us and I asked her to speak on the side so that other patrons were not affected. Her response to me after explaining the situation was "since we did not see it we cannot do anything." I let her know that was an inappropriate response and that since it was a private business they could remove any patron for any reason but if they did not want to do that then she could just openly tell me that. I then gave her an example and stated "if I stab someone and you do not see it then you would not remove me?" Her response was "we definitely would," to which I stated that goes against what you just openly told me and she that there is damage from a stabbing. I then stated to her that physical damage is the same as emotional and mental damge just in a different form which she seemed to easily dismiss. She then stated that the first manager I spoke to was doing her due diligence to find out what happened and I then pointed out that that manager was actually waiting tables and we watched her do this the entire time so I was not sure when due diligence was being completed. We went around in circles, I asked her to give me the ownership information to which she stated "the owner is too famous for you to know," but eventually gave me the name which I had already searched for in my phone. At this point I openly stated that she could just tell me they were not going to do anything and that transparency would be more appreciated to which her response was "you are not currently dining in my restaurant so you need to leave my property." We did walk away but I hope that this is addressed and not pushed aside. All that to say, I hope this type of discrimination was not because we were Hispanic (the restaurant was filled with 90% Caucasian clients), because we were from out of town (from California) and mostly I hope it is not because the stance of the restaurant is not that people with disabilities matter less. I hope someone reaches out to me to address this concern and I hope no other family has to be a part of what we went through tonight. Tiana seems to be invested in the business and that is great but should also understand her customer concerns. Update to this review: Called this morning (2/17/26) and the hostess said she was not going to help me with any information, that I was a weirdo, to grow up and then hung up the phone on me.

We've been to countless beer/wine/music festivals and this was the worst organized one ever. First of all there was absolutely NO place to park for miles around. We ended up going to our hotel and had to wait 30 min for a taxi that costs $20 each way for a 5 min ride. Once there, we got in a line that wrapped around the block (by this time it was already 12:45pm and it started at noon.) The place was so jam packed you could barely move. This was not a large venue, why did you allow so many people?? The lines for both wine & beer were a good 10-15 min wait. Never did see any so called free food samples. Only food for sale at high prices. There were very few tables/chairs and no place to sit and listen to music. It was such a chaotic zoo. Also needed water stations. It was extremely hot and the sun was relentless. We stayed about 2.5 hrs and the 4 of us all agreed to find a restaurant to cool off at and get some water. It was not enjoyable at all, just stressful. Never again and definitely not worth the $140 for 4 tickets and an extra $40 for cab fare.

Clearly what the original architect had in mind many years ago never came to fruition as it really hasn't changed in years. Is appears to be a small artist community but we didn't see anything going on at the moment so couldn't tell if it id still active or they make everything south in Scottsdale at Cosanti. There is a gift shop where you can watch a brief video on the history and learn about their wind chime creations. Personally I've received many of the wind chimes over the last 20 years for housewarmings or Christmas gifts. Each is unique. The greeter in the gift shop was friendly and stated there is a tour available as well. We didn't have time for the tour but purchased a couple of small gifts. He suggested visiting the Scottsdale location as well which is called Cosanti. I had no idea it was located in Scott's well. Will check it out.
