Love this park. On the day we visited they were busy, someone had a blow up bouncy house for a party and the shelters were all full, so my love and I went across the street to the sunset pier and watched the weather and a whole onslaught of little horseshoe crabs come through. It was a lovely evening.

Weaver Park is Dunedin's youngest park, but probably my absolute favorite. I'm a complete amateur when it comes to photography, but I enjoy taking sunset pics, and for me, this is the premier place to do it. The park is split in two by ALT 19, so if crossing from the parking lot or picnic area, be sure to use the crosswalk. All of the local drivers are aware of the foot traffic and yield to pedestrians, but if your cross anywhere else, do so at your own risk! There is a public restroom located in the SE corner of the park on the east side of ALT 19, right next to the Pinellas Trail. Plenty of parking, lots of pavilions, large playground for screaming kids and some picnic tables.

I found out abou this park when we attended a kids birthday party and I loved it. I have been bringing my kids ever since and they love it! It is so close to pinellas trail and I am thinking to go buy bicycles so we can bike .

Loved this little park. There is a crosswalk to a pier across the street and it backs up to the Pinellas Trail. Bathrooms are clean. Shelters and grills available for picnics and the coolest playground equipment ever! My kids all had a blast. We will definitely come back to let the kids run around after strolling around or grabbing dinner in Downtown Dunedin.

Right off of Pinellas trail past downtown Dunedin and alt 19. Very nice park that has tables. Shade and bathrooms. There is also a great pier. I've fishes there quite a few times but nothing worth talking about. If you just want to catch some tiny junk fish then it is great and never crowded. Also always good people there. I've gone during lunch just to sit at the end of the pier and have seen dolphins and manatees. Please note this is considered a fishing pier and dogs are not supposed to go on. I love dogs but don't understand people that ignore this. Dunedin is so dog friendly you don't need to bring Fido where there are hooks around. Also if you bring a young child don't let them run crazy around the hooks and knives. Also there are barrels we are blessed to have this pier. No reason to or do our part and keep it clean and trash out of the gulf. Finally beautiful sunsets. Walk the pier and sit on the bench at the end or park your car I the pier side (two parking lots) and enjoy in the ac or for those that can't walk so well.

The director came out and told everyone to move because it was a fire hazard which is understandable. She also mentioned that the pool was still open which is a lie because they legally can't be open if there is lightning within a 10 mile radius. Nobody moved so she called the police for assistance... again, understandable. Meanwhile, she had her staff in the pool with Lightning 3 miles away. By law, pools have to close if Lightning is within a 10 mile radius. This would be a form of negligence if anyone was struck and can result in prison time. This happened around 10:30AM on 9/27/25.

The capacity of Kiwanis Sprayground is 90 kids and kids under 3 must wear waterproof diapers to prevent unwanted accidents. The water park has staff that monitors the grounds for kids accidents and the staff is pretty prompt about temporarily closing the whole Waterpark down and cleaning up kids accidents, which is nice. The Water park features a dragon, a gator, flowers, a pirate ship slide, hoops, a mushroom waterfall, and a dolphin with water everywhere! Next we visited Highlander's Aquatic Center Pool with 2 slides that the kids loved. The pool was clean, had a lifeguard, and had friendly staff! The aquatic center has swimming classes and after school kids babysitting programs. Highlander Park's Kids playground is officially designed for kids 5-12, has 4 slides, a fish theme, a rock climbing wall, and swings. The kids playground is not covered from the sun is about medium in size. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here just for the playground but it's a nice addition to complement everything else kids can do at this park. Highlander Park occupies a whopping 70 acres and is Dunedin's second largest park. Highlander Park has a multi-use recreation area featuring the Dunedin Community Center, the Fine Art Center, 3 playgrounds, picnic tables, picnic pavilions, tennis courts, sand volleyball, baseball little league fields. Highlander park hosts many community events here including the annual Dunedin Celtic Festival which I had the pleasure of attending many moons ago. If you're in Westchase, Oldsmar, Dunedin, or Clearwater, I highly recommend making a short drive to Dunedin's Highlander Park to give your kids hours of fun!

The trails are well maintained and easy to walk, making it perfect for a relaxing stroll. Surrounded by native plants and shady trees, it feels like a little escape from the busier spots nearby. There's just enough nature here to make it interesting without being overwhelming, and it's great for spotting birds and enjoying some quiet time. What I really appreciated was how calm and uncrowded it felt. It's not one of those packed parks it's more of a low-key spot where you can clear your head, take a walk, and just enjoy being outside. Everything was clean and well cared for, which always makes a difference. If you're in the Safety Harbor area and looking for a peaceful place to walk or unwind, Foley Nature Preserve is definitely worth checking out.
