BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I purchased two vests with matching bow ties for a wedding and was told at the time of purchase that this store would gladly tailor the vests to fit. I was a bit skeptical about ordering and paying for clothing without trying it on first, but was reassured by Jean that they could tailor the garments for us. When the shipment arrived in store two weeks later, we drove over from Lake Placid to try the vests on. Unfortunately, the vests did not fit properly, At All. At this time I was told by Jean that even if they were to tailor the vests, they still would probably not fit correctly. I asked for a refund or exchange and was told there were no refunds or exchanges on pre-ordered apparel. Of course, she neglected to tell us this when ordering and taking our money. Nowhere was this policy written and when I pointed out the return policy behind the register, I was told that "this situation did not apply". I then asked to speak to the manager or the owner and was told that he had just died and there was no one I could talk to regarding the issue. I should also note that the dress shirts we purchased with the vests were very cheaply made. The black tags bled all over the white shirts when they were washed. One was washed at home and the other was taken to the cleaners. This happened in both instances.
This small clothing store is barely a store front and I would imagine that 90% of what they sell has to be ordered. They are severely limited in sizes, colors, and designs. Hence, the order I had to place and was required to pay for, prior to ordering and receiving the clothing made three trips to Sarasota Square Mall's Wall Street for Men Store and am out almost 500.00. How unfortunate it is in this day and age that this retail clothing store is so desperate to stay afloat that they would take advantage of a patron in such a manner. I was lied to and cheated out of my time and money.

I am very disappointed with this store as it was my intention to go to a "specialty store" to avoid this type of thing from happening. I ended up ordering two very nice vests online for a 4th of the price. They fit perfectly and were delivered right to my door. So much for specialty stores - I have been treated better by Walmart. Unfortunately, the mall has been in decline for years and I suppose most of these stores are dying with it.
A Foot Note: I did receive a call from Jean saying she would be able to tailor the vests a few weeks after the wedding, but I had already donated the clothing to the Goodwill. read more
