Joint sole proprietors, retail business and many deductions, biz profits and also losses, that most other CPAs and that instant software would not get for us, saving us hundreds of dollars - maybe thousands. This is a protest of how Wallace Consulting treated their customers in the tax season ending April 15, 2025.I have been with Wallace since 2008. I was shocked when I brought in my taxes on March 17, 2025 to be told that I had to sign a Tax Extension paper. Two ladies at the desk told me that everyone who comes in is required to sign this paper. I didn't want to sign but was given no alternative. I did file the extension and I paid my taxes to Indiana and Federal as soon as I got the tax information from Wallace Consulting. I received my completed tax papers two weeks after April 15, 2025. Teri Wallace informed me that I made the mistake of not turning my taxes in at least 40 days ahead of April 15th. [ I turned them in 29 days ahead of April 15th.] Not having Wallace pay my late fees is legally enforceable but shows that Wallace is more concerned about maintaining their profit motive than about the ethics of requiring customers to sign a Tax Extension form. My conclusion was that Wallace needed to hire more accountants.  Here are email quotes from Teri Wallace:  1.] After taking time to thoroughly review our records and the circumstances surrounding your 2024 tax return, we are unable to reimburse the interest and penalties incurred. 2.] For your reference, I have attached your signed Extension form from last March. This document acknowledges you were aware you were going to owe, you were responsible for your taxes owed, and you agreed to be placed on extension if necessary. 3.]Our records show that the preparation time frame for your returns has been consistent over the years: 44 days in 2025, 29 days in 2024, 40 days in 2023, and 41 days in 2022. For the most recent filing, your tax documents were also dropped off a week later into the tax season than you usually get them to us. While a one-week difference may seem minimal, we serve thousands of clients during tax season- sometimes receiving 100 returns per day- and we strive to process returns in the order they were received. 4.]We have no plans or expectations of growing our tax preparation team at this time. I said that Wallace should post this on their web page:  "WARNING! You must return your filled out tax papers to us by at least 40 days before April 15th or you will have to pay a late fee to Indiana and to the Federal government."   I would have gotten the tax papers to Wallace Consulting earlier if I'd been notified of this fact. read more

Wallace bought out my trusted CPA's business. Buyer beware. I dropped them after being treated like unknown outsider. Nobody from the new management ever attempted to contact me to discuss my 2 business accounts and personal tax needs. They did send a post card inviting us to meet & greet at some public venue. We have the owner, Neal Wallace CPA do our joint sole proprietor business taxes every year and the price is fantastic considering you are getting a CPA! Ours are a little complicated and he always fills them out correctly and gets us all the deductions he can. He really cares about our clients. Been going here for quite a few years. I pulled out my 2015 tax returns to check something when I realized they failed to include my IRA deduction. I had to file an amendment. The difference was over 230.00 dollars. I will not be going back. read more
