This is one of my favorite parks simply because of it's location proximity to Trophy Cupcakes! It's easy to grab a delicious creation and walk over to enjoy the scenery. This is one of the funnest parks for kids too. Not only do they get to indulge in cupcake goodness, but there is great equipment in this park. They have a tire swing, regular swings, a huge variety of slides, toddler play area, little merry-go-round (not the horse kind) and even a wadding pool! Yeah, it's a great way to spend the afternoon.

The large playground equipment at Wallingford park.

This park is a convenient respite with pullup monkeybars and a nice field area. Dogs are not allowed but people bring them anyway.

Nicest park I've been to in a while. Lots of things for each age range and maintained well. Loved the merry go round!

Ask the Community - Wallingford Playfield

Does anyone know if the wading pool is open? Thanks.

Wading pools are not open this summer. The are not permitted until Phase 3, and the city has a hiring freeze that prevents us from hiring the temps needed to staff these pools (even if we were to move into Phase 3 summer).

A couple things to consider as you are planning your trip to Kerry Park: 1) the park is located on a extremely steep hill (you can definitely walk to it, but you'll likely be exhausted walking all the way up to the top from lower Queen Anne), 2) if you are driving it may take some time to find parking as the park is tucked away in a neighborhood, and 3) Mount rainier is viewable from the park on a clear day, you'll want to stop by on a sunny and clear day if possible (the view is still beautiful if the weather is overcast, but it's even better if it's sunny and clear). When you arrive to Kerry Park you'll be greeted with a postcard perfect view of Seattle/the puget sound, and a relaxing atmosphere. It can get busy but spots will naturally open up where you can take photos. I'd recommend going close to sunset if you can time it. Btw, if you are a Grey's anatomy fan some of the house filmed at are tucked away in the Queen Anne neighborhood.
