This is A JOKE of a tow company. 2 1/2 hrs waiting for them to show. 4 calls to AAA EACH with GUARANTEES that Burnet Towing will 'call within 20 minutes'...NADA. NYET. Nuthin. Apparently helping people stranded on the side of the road is NOT a priority for this company. I understand prior calls for service or higher priority calls will bump 'just a tow' down the hill of importance. But I'm pretty DANG sure just ONE phone call from them would have eliminated this hopefully QUITE embarrassing review. Oh, and now it's 3 hours with no phone call. The good news is that the staff was very nice, friendly and easy to work with; there's a comfortable waiting area, and the work was completed when promised. My wife has used them for periodic oil changes with no problem, and I've used them for other work in the past, usually satisfied. The less good) news is that there was a bit of upsell pressure for optional $200+ fuel injector service (not a terrible thing; we're capitalists after all), and their overall prices were significantly higher than my alternative well-established repair shop 15 minutes away in Marble Falls. (I didn't know that at the time, and went to Grease Monkey for convenience.) The cost was still far less than what a Toyota dealer would have charged, and they upsell too! A couple of examples: The charge for changing the transmission fluid, including the fluid itself, was $512 (including tax). In Marble Falls the total would have been in the high $300s, including their most expensive fluid. Grease Monkey told me that my tires were badly worn and cupping, with a fairly fresh cut in one that exposed the steel belt. See photo they sent.) I don't recall hitting anything that would have cut a premium tire that badly, but it was an important safety inspection find. They strongly recommended (and I agree) replacing the front two for just under $440 per tire (same premium tire, installed, including tax), and recommended a road hazard guarantee for an additional 17%, which would have brought the total to about $500 per tire. (Every tire I've ever bought comes with a road hazard guarantee included, but theirs might have been a little more comprehensive.) I declined. The cost of exactly the same tire from the Marble Falls shop (installed, including tax) is just under $331 per tire (without the road hazard upsell). Interesting side note: There was a very cool unfinished 1941Chevy pickup hot rod in the storage yard, and I think I saw classic Chrysler Imperial tailfins sticking out farther down the row.

When you need a towing company it can be annoying to outright dangerous if you can't get a rapid response. Advantage was there when I needed them. Kirk at Advantage was prompt, courteous and professional. I strongly recommend them for towing service in Burnet and the surrounding area!

Do yourself a favor: Do not even THINK about calling this person for help…read more This person has all the decency, communication skills, and social skills of a Neanderthal. (Not an actual homo neanderthalensis which scientists now know were smarter than homo sapiens, but the Neanderthal of lore who spoke in grunts and carried a club.) Despite English apparently being his native language, this guy can barely communicate in English. When I got stuck in the sand at Shaffer Bend, I called him at 1:00 pm. I communicated my situation to him and he said he would come but not right away and he only had his Bronco with winch. His flatbeds were unavailable. He said it would be about 20 minutes before he could leave. The conversation was difficult and clumsy but we agreed that he would come at that time. And we left it like that. Exactly an hour later, I called him back just to check. He hadn't left yet, and had no intention of leaving to help me. In his own words, "Well, you hung up on me so I figured you didn't want me to come out." I was stunned. I hadn't hung up on him and our conversation, although the conversation had been difficult because of his extremely low communication skills (native English-speaker, barely literate). At the end of our second conversation, we left it the same way as the first: He would come as soon as he could; he would leave in about 20 minutes. After exactly ANOTHER hour of waiting, I called him again just to check. I told him who I was and as soon as he heard he just said, "I can't come out there. I don't have any trucks available." and hung up on me abruptly. That's 2 hours I had been waiting for him and he had no intention of showing up. About 1.5 hrs later, after I had been sitting in the hot sand for 4 hours calling umpteen other towing companies, and had arranged for my wife to come pick me up ... this knucklehead shows up with his Bronco. Instead of coming over to me and explaining anything, he just parks his truck at the edge of the sand field about 1000' away from me and takes he sweet ass time meandering around smoking a cigarette -- no indication to me that he is Markham Towing. He's dressed like a tow truck driver but just has an SUV and is meandering around like he's curious about the fishing -- wasting BOTH of our effing time. Finally after about 5 - 10 minutes of meandering around the sand he comes over toward my truck -- about 50' away and just stands there. So I get out and ask him if he's Markham Towing. He confirms. Then he launches into a rather bitter cautionary disclaimer that he's not sure he can get me out and if HE get's stuck with his Bronco it's gonna cost him about $1000.00 to get towed out and that was gonna come out of MY pocket + about $250 for his towing services. I think I was perfectly within my rights to tell him right there: No, thank you. I won't be purchasing your services today. I'll wait for Carlos Wall tomorrow. "Oh really? He's my next door neighbor," and he immediately gets on the phone to try calling Mr. Wall. Why? I have no idea. But i had to worry about it all night if he was going to tell Mr. Wall not to come help me or to jack the price to include HIS time. Thankfully my wife showed up and I didn't have to interact with him for more than about 15 minutes. I was SO angry at this jack-wagon.

They take appointments which really helps with the congestion of vehicles in the parking lot. By doing this they are able to get to your car when you drop it off instead of letting it sit there.
