He took the time to carefully test and assess her knee, explain the areas where she still has deficits nearly seven months post-op, and demonstrate additional strength exercises that will help her continue making progress. From the very beginning, the care I've received has been thoughtful, attentive, and encouraging. Erin, my physical therapist, has been instrumental in my recovery. She focuses on strengthening my core and legs while carefully observing and listening during each session. Thanks to her attention to detail, I've learned that my knee positioning and the way I've been favoring it contributed to stiffness and limited rotation in my hip. She consistently provides targeted exercises to correct these issues and build strength, and I truly feel the progress. I can actually stand straight now. Furthermore, he is comfortable with going into greater details about how the procedure/ procedures will improve the medical conditions. I was so surprised that after decades of my mother having spinal surgeries and epidurals by traditional orthopedic surgeons, she was left is severe debilitating pain. Her only recourse was pain medication, which left her tired, sleepy, and hopeless every day. She had a L5/S1 fusion and c4/c5 herniated disk surgery, and recently was diagnosed with spondyliothis/ degenerative spine condition. To make matters worse, the L5/S1 fusion has compacted the above vertebrae and worn down the cushion in L4 to the point of bone on bone. We had been searching for a remedy for years, and we're only offered cortisone, epidurals, and ultimately fusion surgery (again), by doctor after doctor. Until.... We met Dr. Wu. In 15 minutes he explained an outpatient procedure that we had never heard of, that for the first time - actually made sense! So we gave it a try. In 15 minutes, Dr. Wu completed his recommended procedure on my mother. In 2 days, she was walking without a walking stick/ cane, not needing wheelchair assistance, not debilitated by severe pain, nor completely dependent on medications like nerve modulators, or opioid pain killers, or muscle relaxants to maintain her daily activities. We got a next day early Saturday a.m. appointment and within 20-30 minutes he had x-ray and a diagnosis for surgery. Service was swift and staff was friendly and promised to call first thing Monday with details on surgery. Like clockwork we got the call and thus began the orchestration of pre-op labs and exam....stat as surgery was in a day and a half. We pulled it off, surgery went well and now the healing begins. This is my 2nd gig as a recovery coach, the 1st with my maman after her back surgery and this time with my guy's ankle. Can't say my bedside manner is stellar, but my cooking is terrific so no one goes hungry and my meals absolutely beat hospital food hands down. Ha! Turns out our next door neighbor knows Coastal Ortho well...she was treated by the team there and has only great things to report. My guy is in good hands and it's refreshing to know he'll be up and at 'em because of the fantastic care by the team there. Loads of parking. Easy to drive into and out of. I got referred to See the trainer for an ankle brace by my doctor . They had a lot of products but…read morenot in my exact size. So we spent a lot of time looking at different brands. She saw that I was wearing sandals without socks. The gal helping me kept asking if I had a sock. I said, no. Do you have a ped or socks I could buy from you? She was snarky and said, no. Kept telling me that these are all new products and all sales are final. She also mentioned twice that she did not want her braces to stink after I tried them on. WTH! That in itself is really insulting to say to customers. I am wearing new sandals and I just took a shower before I got there. I needed the brace to I just purchased the one that fit. The store does bill insurance for products and services but, she told me flat out that I would have to pay for the brace and bill my insurance if I wanted to be reimbursed. BY THE WAY, THE BRACE IS NOT REFUNDABLE AFTER YOU LEAVE THE STORE. Like I didn't hear it enough during our interactions. I won't be returning when I need to change to another brace in 6 weeks.

See The Trainer was the vendor that provided the brace (not my knowing). I only received one brace but See The Trainer insisted I got two and hired a collection agency to retrieve the money. I didn't even use the one brace I received and actually returned it to the store. But they insisted I got two and sent letters to my home and the collection agency continued to send letters, so I sent them money, and now, they have my brace (which I never used) and have my money (for the brace I never received). I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as I think they may be involved in some insurance scam or something. I hope you all have a better experience dealing with these guys.
