We were visiting the area and were looking for a local place to grab a bite and this worked splendidly. The pizza was good and the wings were great. The pizza was perhaps the cheesiest I've ever had. That's a plus for us but maybe not for everyone. The service was timely, friendly and accommodating. The seating was outside via covered picnic tables which worked great since the weather was nice. The take out business was brisk while we were there during a work day evening which we took as a good sign. We wouldn't hesitate to go back if we were in the area again!! read more

Really, really good pizza. What a gem of a business located in charming Caldwell, OH. We ordered the thinner crust, which was crispy and flavorful with a hearty border. The sauce was hearty and rich, with just the right amount of herbs. Toppings were all flavorful but not overdone. Finally, the cheese topping was golden, chewy but not greasy. We also ordered a garden salad with our dinner which was huge, made with iceberg lettuce and lots of veggies (same options as used on the pizza.). It was covered with cheese, which some people might enjoy, but I would have skipped if I had known in advance. We arrived @ 6:00 on. Friday and the place was hopping with carry out orders. The 25-minute estimated wait times turned into 50-minutes which was fine by us as we walked through town to stretch our legs. Total tab was $43 with a generous tip as the staff was kind, upbeat and working very hard. Portions were huge, enough for 4-5 people. My husband and I agree that we would have endorsed Wally's with 5 stars if there had been a basil pesto sauce option (our favorite) and a few more veggie topping choices--e.g. fresh spinach, artichokes, roasted red peppers. The onion, mushroom, bell pepper and banana peppers were good and fairly standard. We also love salads with pizza and would have enjoyed a spring mix lettuce. my pizza was medium rare....Crust was crisp, cheese melted, but the dough and toppings were barely cooked through.

Pizza is crispy, sauce is tangy and cheese is plentiful when you get extra cheese. This pizza is a different style than many other places which is what makes it so unique. I've heard people say it looks terrible but honestly don't knock it until you've tried it as the tastes is what matters. I've been a long time customer of Wallys in Cambridge and I'm happy to say that this place lives up to the Wallys name. The service here was fast, super friendly and spot on. We found this place during a cross country road trip. Staying in Caldwell, we didn't have a lot of options and chose to drive through town to find this spot. The ladies working there were very friendly and incredibly busy. We ate at a table outside and watched many customers come and go. The pizza was fantastic. It was square cut and loaded with toppings. Despite all of the coverage, the crust was incredibly crispy all the way through. I have to say, this is one of the best pizzas that I have had in a long time. It's not flashy or trendy, just a straight forward and traditional. I especially liked how they cooked the pepperoni separately and added that with extra cheese after it was baked. This kept it from being as greasy as a lot of others. I highly recommend stopping here if you're nearby. read more

As a trucker, I was passing through Caldwell and decided to walk from the truck stop (about a mile through gorgeous little town) to try out this pizza place. SO glad I did! Traveling from Hilton Head to Cleveland. Screaming kid demanding pizza. The ONLY pizza place near where we were on I-77 was Wally's. As a pizza snob I was highly skeptical of a pizza place in a small town. I was even more skeptical when I pulled up to the place and had to walk through a muddy parking lot to get our pizza to go. But, darn it, that was some pretty good pizza. It isn't gourmet, it isn't fancy, it isn't Grimaldi's in Brooklyn, it isn't Pequod's in Chicago. Don't come expecting either. It just tastes good, really good. So much so that on our next trip to Hilton Head we will actually PLAN to stop in rural Ohio for Wally's. read more

My wife and I were in Caldwell Ohio for a personal reason and wanted some pizza. We thought, "how good could the pizza be in the middle of Ohio?" We are from Philadelphia so we went in with an open mind. Wally's is awesome and we were both very impressed. The pizza was fresh and hand made, the prices were great and the Specialty Italian Sun was really good. We went and ordered and while we were waiting for the food, the owner stood and talked to me and told me they do everything from scratch. Pizza is good but I noticed the employees wearing gloves and touching EVERYTHING with them on. Including going outside and the man picked up a piece of trash off the ground, threw it away and went back to making food-gloves on the whole time. Won't be back. read more
