Overpriced and a waste of time!…read more Waited two days while my vehicle sat in their parking lot waiting for them to inspect an engine light. When I dropped off my vehicle the morning of the first day the associate at the front desk told me it would only be a few hours. After that time passed and I hadn't gotten any update I decided to call to see what the issue was. I was met with a rude response by Doug that this wait time was normal, that I shouldn't bother them if they haven't text/called, and that I should call back before closing if my vehicle still has not been seen. Doug gave me no time frame to how long it would take. So eventually it got close to closing when I called again and decided to leave my vehicle overnight to get it seen quicker. It wasn't. They finally inspected it late in the afternoon on the second day where they found a faulty catalytic converter. Doug quoted me $3000 with the OEM part and $2500 for the "cheaper" aftermarket part. It was outrageously high and not worth the service wait time. I quickly talked with another mechanic I trusted who quoted me a little under $1000 for the repair while being very helpful and nice. I am going to take my business elsewhere after this experience. While some staff are very helpful and nice the experience with Doug was one of the worst I have had. Even the diagnostic fee of $107 wasn't discounted for an extremely long inconvenience. Don't go to this auto shop unless you enjoy wasting days/weeks for service that amounts to expensive price gouging for your wallet.

I decided to drop into my trusty reliable Discount Tire for a quote to action on in a few days. Turned out they could get me in and out within 45 minutes, so I just decided to go ahead and have the installation done. As usual, the customer service here was excellent. Tread depth on my current Yokohama tires was taken and confirmed, it was time for new tires. This time, because who knows how expensive tires will be in the next few years with all the nonsense, I decided to go with the most durable tires they had, so I got my first ever set of Michelin Defenders. The tech explained to me the difference between mileage rating, and actual real world miles that customers are getting. They even have their own data showing a range of what people have seen, and further break that down into a dollar cost per estimated miles rating. I love data, so this further helped sell me on the premium Michelin tires, which were expensive, but not THAT much more expensive than my usual Yokohama choices. Within 10 minutes my car was in the garage, and then 20-30 minutes later, I was on my way with that fresh tire smell. All installations are also balanced out, and the tech informed me they didn't see any kind of unusual wear on the other tires that would indicate my car is out of alignment, so he advised I could skip the alignment for now (not performed on site). I have purchased from Discount Tires my entire adult life, and see no reason to change that. Their price still beats pretty much anyone, and the service and warranty really does work here. Always highly recommend.

Great communication, fair prices, and honest about issues. I've taken my car here twice and both…read moretimes they've done a great job. The first story doesn't make me look great, but I'll tell it like it happened. Story one: The first time I took my car there, my car was having chronic issues with the battery dying (in spite of AAA giving me a perfect battery check multiple times). A pseudo-mechanic friend messed around with it on the weekend, but concluded that my vehicle needed professional help. I dropped off my car on a busy weekday morning without an appointment. They were absolutely packed, but were willing to take my vehicle and try to diagnose the issue. They ran diagnostics and tested it in different ways over the course of a couple days, but weren't able to find any issues. My leading hypothesis is that my friend must have knocked something loose back into place. In any event, when I picked up the car, all they charged me for was the oil change. They could have EASILY charged me a ton for all the trouble my non-broken car gave them, but took the honest and transparent route. My car worked just find after I got it. Story two: During my first trip to Beroth, they identified that I had brake issues. My brakes should have still been under warranty under NTB and I told them I was going to try to see if the warranty would pay for it. I took my vehicle to NTB and they tried to charge me an exorbitant sum to replace damage due to a "failed part" (that I they installed.. that was under warranty...). In any event, I took my car into Beroth and they took care of my problem. They were able to charge me half of what NTB wanted to charge me, and did slightly less work (since some of what NTB recommended wasn't necessary). My brakes have been much better since the work they did. Overall, I'd recommend Beroth based on the two times they serviced my car. They had every opportunity to price gouge me, and they didn't. They were personable and took good care of my vehicle.
