We take 3 of our vehicles to this location. We've been loyal customers here for several years now. However, I'm ready to start looking elsewhere. My husband and daughter both took their cars there on a Sunday. Husband only needed a tune up and my daughter got a whole set of tires on hers. They always want to call not long after you've dropped the vehicle off with some type of upcharge. It's always you need this, that and then some. We get our vehicles serviced on the regular, so they shouldn't need more work done to them. There's a lot of new faces around, and it doesn't seem as if they know what they're doing. I was more confident when a manager name Jason used to be there, him and his crew were solid it seemed like. It's like you can't just drop it off for a regular oil change without them calling saying you need this and that done. Don't get me wrong, I understand certain services are needed, but every single time it's something else. They also don't go over the work that was done to your vehicle. Just hand you the bill and let you swipe your card. I will most definitely be looking elsewhere to have our vehicles serviced. This location has gone down hill from what we're used to. read more

I had a shabby rental car that was given to me while I was on vacation in Winston Salem ,NC The car had a low tire pressure warning light with missing plugs among other issues. I was told by customer service to go to tie place or return to airport. I trust and use Firestone. I went to one at Hanes mall area. They were super busy but squeezed me in by airing up my tires which good of the light. No charge to me and got in done in 5 minutes! That is why I do business with them. Warning ‼On June 7th I had a 10am appointment for a set of 4 new tires and I added on an alignment service at the FireStone Winston Salem NC Hanes Mall location. It took about 5 hours to complete the service. I noticed after a week of driving that I would feel trembling on the front left drivers side when I would get up to 60 mph. My car never did this before the new tires. Because of the long wait the first time I had to make time to take it back. I took it back on the June 20th to have the trembling issue inspected. An inspection was completed and charges were waived. I was told everything checked out, no problems were found. With in an hour of driving off my check engine light came on and the trembling continued. Because the check engine light never came on before the service I thought it would go off, but it didn't. I called and spoke with who I now know is Dylan, the next day. I told him my situation and he told me to bring my car by any time. I came, he lifted my hood in the parking lot and told me there was something that was loose and to drive the car for a couple of days, if the engine light doesn't go off bring it back. It didn't, I took it back. He came to the parking lot this time with a hand held diagnostic, and asked if I could drop my car off the following Monday so he could spend some time with it and he'll charge me half price to run the diagnostic. After paying $900 for new tires I didn't have spare cash to give for unexpected repairs on a car that was running perfectly prior to Firestone doing a tire service. The trembling continued, the check engine light never went off and now MY CAR WILL NOT START. I just can't understand how I came for tires and begin experiencing all these malfunction! Service advisors are rude and unprofessional. I bought a life-time alignment policy and they claimed they did the alignment but refused to provide proof. Told me several lies. Everyone waiting for service were told we needed major repairs, highly questionable, and I declined the "recommended" expensive repairs and that is when the rudeness and lies began. Any recommendations should be verified elsewhere as it appears to be a scam. I elevated my concerns to Firestone store manager, district manager and regional managers and they could care less how customers are treated. My daughter had a nail in her tire. We took it to our usual firestone on Hanes Mall Circle, Winston Salem, NC. Kristie stopped what she was doing and went to the parking lot to access the situation. Giving us options and solid advice, we chose to replace the tire because it was not repairable. Actually replaced both the back tires because it was needed. She quoted a good price and gave us a time frame and it was met! Dillon worked well with her and helped us with check out and answering questions. Ricky worked on the car and did an excellent job! I took my truck in to have my front headlight bulbs replaced and was charged $186 for that and was told that was outrageous by many people. Then they told me I needed all new tires to pass inspection so I reluctantly told them to go ahead then and put them on. They gave me the most expensive tires and charged me $1100 for them on my 93 Chevy 1500. Then they said my battery wasn't strong enough so i agreed to have them put a new one in for $250. I was told by my friend when my truck stopped running a week later on the highway that the battery they put in was too small for what the truck needed. He towed it to his mechanic who said the same and told me I didn't need those expensive tires, and they charged me way too much for the bulbs, and the battery WAS too small for what the truck needed. I do not recommend anyone go there especially if you are like me and do not know much about cars which I'm sure they guessed by my answers to their questions. My AC stopped blowing cold air so I called Firestone on a Sunday and was able to get it in and fixed the same day. We dropped the car off around 10:30am and this place was PACKED! There had to of been like 10 people waiting. Luckily we didn't need the car that day and ended up picking it up around 4. The Freon was almost completely gone so my system needs to be drained and then recharged. Cost me about $150... Not sure if this is what an average cost is for this type of service but considering it's getting hot out, I REALLY wanted my AC working again. Honestly, I never feel 100% comfortable in any automotive repair shop. I always think they are going to try to screw me over in some way and tell me I need something when I don't. Not sure if I will bring my car back for every repair but worked out today. Need to find myself a David Puddy. Had one I trusted 110% in Rochester, haven't found one down here yet. read more

These are the most unreliable mechanics I've ever come across. I arrived at 8:30am for a job that should take at the most 2 hours and I've been waiting for almost 5 hours already. They tell you one time, and then it always ends up being another. Last time I was here it took 3 days! Until I was able to get my car, and they didn't offer a loaner or anything. VERY good experience. Found a screw embedded in my car... on a Sunday afternoon... and, I have to be at the airport in the morning. What to do?? I didn't know anyone was open on Sunday... AND after calling my Roadside Assistance and calling AAA... no mobile tire repair... AND, after buying a can of Fix a Flat knowing that it would only be a bandaid on the problem... I was stressing. So, I took a chance and called... Tasha was able to get me in; Jeff was very helpful and Ron fixed my tire. Just under an hour on a Sunday afternoon (and, they were busy) and only $21. Mic drop. So I came here and serviced two cars. They were super nice, they didn't up sell me on tires and I took advantage of their bogo half off deal! They made my traumatic tire bursting the night before an easy experience to fix and they serviced both my cars in under two hours! Between both cars we had an inspection, two oil changes, two tires, two front light bulbs and air in both of the front tires! That's a lot for an early Sunday morning especially because another shop told me it would take four hours! This took half the amount of time. This is the second time I've been to this Firestone and I'm really impressed with how nice they were. The only reason why I didn't give them five stars is because they messed up my bill one time but they made it good immediately and apologized profusely but now I will be watching my bill more closely. And, there isn't a student discount but hey what are you going to do! My tip is to make sure you go as early as you can. By the time we got out of there, fifteen cars were in the lot waiting to be serviced! We were the only ones for two hours before they were coming in crowds! BTW, Sears Auto does not do state inspections, but Firestone does! :) read more

(TLDR summary: NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE FOR YOUR CAR SERVICES.) I can't speak for all Firestones, but I cannot advise *AGAINST* going to this one strongly enough. Between my two experiences here, I've realized that it is the epitome of a company that preys upon customer ignorance. Again, I don't know if this is some sort of company policy or if it's specific to this location, but it's a BIG PROBLEM. Now, the details. My first service experience involved replacement of my tires and went okay overall, I guess. It took about 2 hours longer than they initially told me, and they managed to up-sell me on a few unnecessary services as well as get me to start a credit line with them through the use of vague language. All in all, I would have given that experience 2 stars instead of 1, though. The true trouble came on my second, most recent visit. I had my tires replaced at Costco, and they noticed abnormal wear on the old ones. They recommended an alignment service, so I went to this nearby Firestone. First of all, their prices are steep for a medium-sized town. $90 for an alignment. But wait! It gets worse! That's just to have the service done. The true manipulation comes 1.5 hours after you leave, when they've started the service, and they tell you that this and that part need to be replaced and that it will cost $160 extra. And then, when you get back there once it's done, and they have added another $80 because they said one of these same parts needed replacing on the other side. On top of this, the attendant got my invoice wrong and, had I not come back 5 minutes later after realizing that they had, for no reason, charged me $90 EXTRA! After my polite convincing him that he'd made a mistake, he took off the charge was rather unapologetic for his error. They also strongly recommended that I get my water pump drive belt replaced, due to cracking, but I smartly declined this service. When all was said and done, they still managed to charge me 4x more than I went in planning to spend on the service. Here's where the real kicker comes in. I was curious about this last item, as well as the alignment work they'd done. I also needed my cabin and engine air filters replaced, so I took it to Mock Tire on Country Club, based on the recommendation of a friend. (This company and location, I can't recommend strongly enough!) Talking through the alignment service they'd done with the extra parts, the attendant looked at my pre- and post-alignment specs and said there was *absolutely no reason* I would have needed these extra parts (shims and a camber plate). I also confirmed this via phone with another friend who has worked on cars for 15+ years. In fact, the Mock employee said that in over 20 years of working, he's maybe replaced *A DOZEN* of these parts on alignment services. This is having worked on thousands of cars, mind you. When Mock started examining my car, they did say that my filters needed replacing but assured me that they could find NO CRACKS on the water pump drive belt and that it should last me at least another 20,000 miles. Wow! In addition to this, they spent 15+ minutes talking me through all of my concerns and questions, something that the folks at this Firestone never did. Sadly, I can't even imagine how many customers like me that this Firestone has screwed over simply due to their lack of knowledge about car mechanics. Hopefully, this review serves to get the word out and advise people to: 1) never go to this location for services, 2) talk to a trusted friend before having any expensive additional services/parts done on your car, and, most importantly, 3) finding an auto service provider that you can TRUST and never looking back! read more

Had an appointment at 1:30 for an oil change. Car was not done by 3:13pm. I was talking to a manager about it. I get very worried at Firestone. At another location they gave me someone else's keys. So when I see my car in the air with no one working on it. I get worried that they get the cars mixed up. While explaining this to Jason who is apparently a tire manager, an employee named Kevin came from the repair area, and said that it was Saturday, and that they were busy. He also stated that they were doing their best. The guy totally interrupted us. I told him that I get that, but I was not talking to him, but to Jason. He really did not have any reason to talk to me. Then he proceeded to ask what I did for a living? At this point it went from a conversation with a manager asking why an oil change would take so long to a not so nice conversation. I was very angry and upset. I started to yell at this guy. I told the guy it was none of his business. Why did it matter? He then proceeded to tell me to sit down. I told him I was not talking to him, but the manager. He then told me he was going to escort me out. I told him do so. He picked up the phone, and said he was calling 911. I said go ahead. He acted like he was going to call them, then hung the phone up. The conversation between the manager and me was going fine until Kevin who is an employee thought he could take control over a conversation and made it worse. Why would he ask what I do for a living? Why is it any of his business? Would it have made a difference in having my car get done faster? Does my job help them with the oil change? Was he trying to see if I was a woman who did not work, and was trying to make comments about that, or a woman that does work, and thought I would sympathize with him? First of all...it is none of his business. He should not be asking personal questions. This had nothing to do with how hard or busy that they were. This is about why an appointment took almost 2 hours? A question that I have a right to ask. This location has no control over their employees. Jason tried to salvage the incident by giving me a free oil change. I told him I would rather pay because this was not about getting a free oil change. I don't like getting something free if they provided the service, but he would not let me pay. read more

I first went to this establishment in 2001 when I first got a job with a company vehicle. It was so I could drop the vehicle off and kill time at the mall. I have brought over a half a dozen vehicles there since then for tires, oil changes, brakes, etc. Well here is what happened this week. I brought my wife's car in to have the $700 or so set of tires that I purchased from there rotated. She and I joked about what scam upsales we figured that they would try to hit us up with. We drop it off and walk over to Chipoltes. At 1:15 my cell phone rings. It was Firestone. They try to tell me my wipers are torn and I need new ones. Also they saw my brakes are so worn that they will not last until the next oil change and my front tires are worn to the point of being unsafe and need to be replaced. I politely refuse the upsales and the guy on the phone tells me they will get right on rotating my tires. The wife and I go to the mall for about the next 45 minutes. We walk back around 2:00 and the car is still not out of the shop. Maybe the technician needed a nap before doing the 10 minutes worth of work. As I am waiting at the counter the car is pulled around so no big deal. The guy at the counter printed out my receipt and shoved it at me. I signed it and he tossed me the keys without saying a word. Maybe he was having a bad day. I can accept that. The receipt read... tire rotation quantity 4 courtesy inspection quantity 1 When I went out to the car the brake dust on my wheels was undisturbed. I looked at my tires and saw they were not rotated. I asked the service guy who pulled it around about that (he was getting the next car). He started into some cock and bull story about it being a liability for them to rotate my tires. See problem "4" for why this is a cock and bull story. Here are my problems 1) When the guy called me at 1:15 to upsale me, he said he would perform the service. 2) The car remained in the service area 45 minutes after we talked so I assumed the work was being done. 3) I was given a receipt saying that the service was in fact completed. 4) AT ABOUT 8:15 AM THAT SAME DAY THIS CAR PASSED THE NC SAFETY INSPECTION!!! THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TIRES OR THE WIPERS!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. IF YOU CHOOSE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE WORK THEY TRY TO SELL YOU REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE AND YOU BETTER MAKE SURE THAT THE WORK THEY CLAIM THEY DID WAS DONE. THEY WILL NEVER GET THE CHANCE TO DO THAT TO ME AGAIN!!! PS. I went back to the place that inspected my vehicle and got my tires rotated. Yes it costed me $12 but it was worth it to not have to deal with these people again. read more

This greasery is close enough to my house to drop my car off and walk home. I did this last week for a simple oil change. "Thirty minutes" was my quote so I went home and had lunch. Three hours later my car was ready. It was an oil change not open heart surgery. I read three days worth of the local paper and every magazine in the lobby while waiting, not to mention Days of our Lives on the tv. On 7/10/17 my truck had an error to appear so I wanted a diagnostic check. The results had my mind blown so I've had my car parked till today 8/11/17 trying to find a reasonable mechanic to fix what they told me was wrong. When I finally get an mechanic to look at my truck the results were NOT what FIRESTONE told me. What's even worse all I needed was some damn anti freeze for my truck because it was DRY. So why couldn't FIRESTONE say this after they took my money on that diagnostic check? It's call *blowing you off* cause they really didn't even look at the truck like I had paid them to. That is my LAST time I come there and I will make sure I leave a review on every outlet I can for this was the WORST thing a company could have done to me as a female. I've always heard that mechanics treat women differently but damn! I'm only giving you the extra star because you rescheduled my appointment for me to find out that I was gonna be treated like side order of old fries. read more

I have been coming to this location for over 10 years and Jason (manager) has been there the whole time. This is a good sign in any business when you have a consistent leader. This is a very busy place and I recommend making an appointment if you can. Of course they will do their best to work you in if they can. Engine was on, so I took my car in Saturday for a diagnostic test. Was told it needed $500.00 worth of work. I said I would come and get the car and have my nephew look at it. My nephew (trained at Nascar tech) looked at the diagnostic review and bought a $44 part at Advance Auto and installed it. The tech at Firestone also left a hose disconnected from the engine, the engine cap off, and had not reconnected a sensor which made even more engine warnings appear!!! He called Firestone yesterday afternoon after making the repairs and finding the additional problems from the tech and OF COURSE they were not interested in listening or helping. Where is integrity in business anymore????? I WON"T be going back there ever again. read more

We cut a tire on road debris today and AAA towed us to this location. These guys were pros. We only interacted with Rick and Jeff and they got us in and out so fast and at such a reasonable cost. We replaced two tires and they tested the alignment, which they said was fine. This is the first time a mechanic has told us we didn't need an alignment - he showed us the results. Overall, everyone at this location was chill, friendly, and helpful, and when you're 300+ miles from home with a tire emergency, that's exactly what you need. Thanks guys. read more
