Easy store to get around, it's doing a good job during Covid-19. Also, has better service than the Superstore.

I've been waiting to come here…read more Stopped into this Winners and was really impressed by the selection. This location felt much bigger than what we're used to in Montreal and had a lot of items you don't typically see back home. There were plenty of high-end products at great prices, especially in the skincare section lots of good brands and solid deals. Easy to browse, well stocked, and definitely a great stop if you're looking for value or something different. Would absolutely pop in again if I'm in the area.

Listen, y'all, I love Winners, so all Winners locations get at least 4 stars from me, lol. This one…read moreis the lone Winners in Brockville, ON. I guess in a town with a population of 22,000, the fact that there is even a Winners is awesome, haha. They don't have a Marshalls though :( The thing I love about stores in small towns, and Winners is no exception, is you can find things that are usually sold out in stores in bigger cities. Our last visit to this Winners was during Phase 2 business re-openings of the Covid-19 Pandemic. So nail salons, hair salons and barber shops were just re-opening, but lots of people, including my husband, were hesitant to visit such businesses, given the media coverage of the recent huge outbreak at a nail salon in Kingston, ON, that resulted in over 500 people having to quarantine/self-isolate (not to mention that prices have increased for these services due to additional costs related to following guidelines like masks for all employees, extra cleaning, etc.). All this is to say we have been looking for clippers to cut my husband's hair for a while, and they were hard to come by in Ottawa, but this Winners in Brockville had tons to choose from! We got the basic 22 piece set for only $16.99. (Background info: I have been cutting my own hair (long with layers) for 8 years now, but the hubster was still going to the barber shop, how ironic, I know, but after we got this kit, I cut his hair for him (my first time cutting hair other than my own) and it turned out really well, despite the fact that I am self taught and my technique is to "cut by intuition" lol). I am happy that my husband no longer has a shaggy mop on his head. And he even conceded that this amateur did a better job that some "professionals" he's been to who charged more than the cost of the clippers, lol. The selection of other items in the Winners was also pretty good. I'm usually able to find something that interests me on every visit. This location is in a plaza with a Dollar Tree, a La Vie en Rose, Sally Beauty Supply, and a Michaels (and a few other businesses as well). During non-pandemic times, my husband would usually grab a coffee at the Starbucks in the same plaza and sit there and have the coffee and poke around in his phone while he waits for me to shop. So for partners who hate shopping, there is that choice available, or at least there will be again sometime in the future. Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot.

There are a few new shops in there, like the Rossy store, a no-name grocers, Bulk Barn, Dollarama, Bell, and a Stacked Pancake House. For the record, there used to be a movie theatre here (Galaxy), but that closed, and it's been torn down :-( We only got there once. Movies are different now adays, when we all have big screen tvs and can make our own popcorn. Incidentally, the Shopper's drug store that's here is bigger, and has a better selection than the SDM downtown on King Street. The Rossy's is a Canadian department store (a chain, out of Montreal). We seem to be in there every week! Great service and good prices. I often get yarn there, but you can get clothes, and furniture, among other things. I will definitely be back to this mall.

1000 Islands Mall is the only mall in Brockville. Unfortunately, it is a sad little mall. One of…read morethe anchor stores is Sears (and it is one of the ones that will be closing in the near future). The other anchors are Shoppers Drug Mart and Staples. Other stores included Ardene, Coles, Bentley, some stores I've never heard of before and some cell phone providers. In terms of fashions the stores were Pennington, Alia N Tanjay, and Northern Reflections. So not exactly a fashionista's dream. The food court has 3 options: deli sandwiches, Chinese food, and fish and chips. The end of the mall away from Sears was particularly sad as it had mostly vacant units. No hidden gems here, folks (at least not in my opinion). What you see is what you get, it's just a small-town mall.
