shout out to Derek Assistant Manager. Yesterday I was at customer service where everything is handled but returns it seemed. No exaggeration there were at least 15 plus folks on line. No ONE cared at all. Except when I saw Derek and asked why is this FIRE HAZARD allowed. blocking the actual doors with folks trying to return items. He was true and sent over a third person. I don't regularly shop Walmart but I felt okay when two people on line said I didn't think you would get anywhere but you did. I won't necessarily go out of my way to go there but they should be more aware of the customers and the area they serve. read more

It's obvious that the delinquents who work here are constantly getting high on their break. This place is like going to a swap meet, the people that come here are just like the employees, ghetto with low IQs. I asked a woman if they had any laptops in stock (because they didn't have any displays) and she looked at me as if I had 12 heads. Everything is always cluttered and disorganized and the staff members always seem unkempt. Let's not begin on how dirty the subways looks. I had no complaints of this particular walmart store but one time i came here for my oil change since i was recommended by a friend that they are the best and my experience was just horrible. I couldnt believe it. When my pil change was done they had told me my battery was shot and i needed a replacement and i fought with then stating it couldnt be, i had just changed my battery on my new yaris less than 2 years ago and i had driven from riverhead and no battery light had turned on. I spoke with the manager of the store and he was an ignorant person he did not care of the horrible service i had recieved he couldnt even look eye to eye for a normal conversation. really i look at two stars are you kidding. I have been going to islandia for three years . I feel like when i go to Commack i have arrived back in the states. The stores is clean and the employees really do know how to smile and help. So if ever want to give less than 4 stars , spend a hour at Islandia Walmart. There's nothing good about this place. I've been here for car stuff multiple times, since that's what my family does upstate. Bad idea. When they're done changing your oil or tires, they don't tell you, even if you're sitting right there waiting for hours. The car area is understaffed. One guy accidentally went home with my keys in his pocket. Once they filled my fluids without asking, and put something in the windshield washer tank that was not windshield washer fluid. Maybe car wash fluid? It was sudsy and left a residue on my windshield for months afterwards. Eventually I had to clean the wiper fluid tank by repeatedly filling it with water and sucking out with a turkey baster. Thanks, guys. I stopped going there, obviously. As for the store, the lines are very long and registers are understaffed, so you can't just go in and out quickly. Once I was taking pictures of model numbers with my phone so I could go home and see if they got good reviews, and some random employee started chewing me out saying "You can't take pictures in here". So I walked out and have never walked back in since. :D Target's right around the corner. read more

Horrible!! The worst customer service ever! It's 5 minutes away from me but would much rather drive 20 minutes to the one in Farmingdale.

I found a parking spot right away. I had to return something no promblem returning the item. I went to the pharmacy no line very friendly I got insulin for my son. Plenty of workers on the floor. Not a long line when I checked out. The store was very neat. much better store then the farmindale store. read more

I ordered an item from Walmart Commack to be delivered to the store. I got an email saying the item was ready for pick-up. I had a question about it and called the store...prompt 3 (pick-up). NO ANSWER. Called again and again and again. AND AGAIN!!! I called the store...prompt 0 (representative). NO ANSWER. Called again and again and again. AND AGAIN!!! Called the 800 # (corporate). Terrible experience trying to buy tires at this location. Arrived at 8:00 am (they open at 7) and was told there was "no one in automotive; the manager was called in and he'll be here later." Came back the next day at 7:15 am, and was told "there's only one person here, we need 2 people to install tires, can you come back after 1:00 pm?" Rather than come back a 3rd time, I found a manager, who went to Automotive with me and determined that there was a second person available, so they could install my tires after all. That 40 minute job (their estimate) took almost 90 minutes. The final indignity was that my checkout was delayed 5 more minutes since "no one brought us a cash register drawer this morning." !!! The tires look good, the price was good, but as a customer experience this was very bad, only redeemed by the manager's prompt intervention. This store never has stock. Empty shelves in entire departments. Last time I went there for dog food -- almost the entire aisle was empty! This is not an isolated incident . These people are so unprofessional. I purchased a wiiU for my daughter. Later that day she received the same system as a gift so I tried to return it. At first I was told I needed the receipt went crazy looking for it finally found it. Now they say it's been past 15 days and their "policy" doesn't allow them to return electronics after 15 days. I will NEVER purchase any electronics from this store in my life again. Not only does the receipt state nothing about 15 days but I didn't even want my money back I wanted to exchange for another system since my daughter received the wiiU as a gift from I wanted to purchase a DS instead. Was @ the Crooked Hill Rd / Commack location today. The store employees are all not bi lingual. My daughter asked 3 employees where the art supplies were and not one of them could answer her in English. Also I wanted to have a picture developed and all picture processor kiosks were out of order ?????? except the ones they wanted customers to use. A bi lingual employee did help me with my request and all went well until the picture could not be printed because machine was out of paper. He was not trained to enter a code and load the paper also he could not get anyone to help him. The person who could do that would not be in until 3pm and I was not going to wait 2 hours. This is a DISGRACE that the corporation would hire untrained non qualified employees. read more

I go to this Walmart all the time since I Live close the last Time I went there it was about 945 and they had a woman guarding the door would not let me through and I all I had to pick up was feminine products and she was saying they need 10 minutes to Count our the registers to me that is very rude and they never did that before she literally would not let me through and I said since when did you guys start this and then as I turned around to walk away she tells the other lady well she should of came earlier that's her problem so I contacted corporate offices they apologized and that was it usually the lines are always the problem I don't get it every single Walmart is always crowded long lines you think they would just end up putting more people on the register that would solve the problems but no they just have people on the floors chitchatting on their phones and youcan never get somebody to help you but there's always people walking around I don't get it it's really not hard more people at the register more people knowledgeable in their department and stay there and it sucks because I love Walmart but unfortunately I still go there but I know expect much trust me. Went for oil change, they were HORRIBLE they did not replace the oil ring to my car oil leaking out my 2013 Venza panel was warning me, I PARKED immediately called my mechanic who realized the ring had not been replaced I have not had any more problems I called Walmart I was putting up at least 5 times when I said I wanted to speak to the manager of the mechanics finally I got a Brian who did not offer me anything in replace of almost ruining my car but said he would get on the person cuz I knew something was wrong when they just charged me $17.79 and said well I probably have to charge you more when you come back it was like he already knew probably my engine with these or if I continue to drive I would see the low pressure and turn around I would not step foot in Walmart are they make an exception ever again because if this what you have to do to get people to buy new store our usual mechanics it's horrible my engine could have CDs and that to me is just taking advantage call someone a woman and man whatever that don't know too much about cars unbelievable stay a way read more

The store closes at 10 but good luck trying to get in at 9:45 to get a gatorade, there was a woman standing at the door who wasn't about to let me in because the store was closing in 15 minutes... Once i told her i just wanted a drink she was SOOO generous in granting me the privilege to enter the circus named walmart. While looking for the gatorade i hear an employee screaming on the top of her lungs " WE CLOSIN, WE CLOSIN, WE CLOSIN. GET YO STUFF TO THE REGISTA". With my gatorade in hand and walking towards the "regista" she continued to yell on the top of her lungs in front of me. Now i go at 9:45 every night just for the entertainment. Went on to Walmart's website to find a toy organizer for my son. I found a Paw Patrol organizer that was listed to be in-stock at this location. I took a ride up their, and searched the toy aisles. While searching I asked and showed the picture of what I was looking for to 5 employees. Each kept pointing me towards a different part of the store. (Notice I said "I asked", probably a dozen employees walked by me, and not one smiled or asked me if I needed help.) After the fifth employee pointed me towards baby area, I walked over and looked. There I ran in to an Assistant Manager, and asked him for help (Saturday August 11th approximately 2pm. He looked annoyed that I spoke to him and asked him for help. He told me to wait right there, and he would get his "device" to look it up. I waited 20 minutes for this gentleman to return, and he did not. I was so annoyed that I decided to leave and drive about 10 miles to the Farmingdale store. Needless to say, I will NOT return to this location. I will post my experience about that store. read more

many carts have broken wobbly wheels. Many products always seem to be out of stock. ex. Danimal yogurt drinks. Too many displays in main aisles cant get around the fatties easily. Good prices but costco is always cheaper if they carry same product. Why are so few self check out registers open. read more

Just because your a giant store dose not mean you should treat your custmers like shit. In my life time I have seen a lot of national mega store go under or become humbled. One of the most important things for any store is customer service when you treat people like shit they don't forget.
