Every staff member that I came in contact with today, management and roach coaches included, had thee worse attitude, work ethic is non existent. Walmart hired me when I was 15 and a resident alien. We pushed carts out in the hot & humid parking lot, wore little flimsy vests and pushed like mad. Tonight I wanted to get a new dog bed which I'd purchased at a Walmart in the inland empire a while back, but it all turned out differently. At this Compton Walmart the selection of dog beds was paltry (pardon me french), so I got groceries instead. Hummus, kombucha, boxed wine, goat milk, cheese, hot dogs, potato salad, macaroni salad, Roma tomatoes, cabbage, strawberries, coffee, chicken thighs, even a sandwich to heat up later. On the way in, a kid was using a robot to help him push the carts alone. I know he's not interested, but we used to do it in pairs, one to push and one to steer the column. We'd compete (of course) to see who could push the most. Danny would win. He looked like he was already in his twenties. I'd be a close second. We had fun. Anyways, this Walmart is good for groceries, but I don't know about all that other stuff. Will you really need it? Will you really use it? Make it make sense for me. I ordered formula online so I can come pick up at the store. They took my order and told me it would be available for pickup. When I went to go pick it up they told me my order was no longer available. So, one of two things are the case, either you didn't have the inventory and allow me to order anyway or you gave my order items away to someone else. Ordered my son's cake for his bday, I was never told and it's not disclosed no where in the bakery area that it must be 48 hours prior to. The point is my cake was schedule for 3 pm, I got there at 3:30 and it was not ready. They told me to wait an additional 30 min, which was basically an hour late. As it is, I had to modify the cake because they were limited on flour flavor. I was told they were short staff and my options were to get refunded and purchase a pre-made cake from them! I asked for half price and I was told it was either refund or 10%. Another employee offered additional cupcakes to compensate their error. Worst customer service, I wouldn't recommend it. This store officially sucks. All associates never know anything and do not care even a bit to help you find something. Small store compared to Walmart in Gardena. None of the associates know anything. They repeatedly ask within themselves every question they have. Sometimes they are fully stocked on an item and sometimes they are completely out. Do not rely on this location for a "pick up today" because most likely they won't have it in stock. Rude employees everywhere but I guess it's what you get when most of the time it's busy. This store has to be the worst. Today is the Third time I come early to buy formula for my son and AGAIN they can't find the keys to the shelf it's on. Like WTF? There needs to be a better system for his because it gets frustrating having to wait 15 min just so they can come and tell me they lost the key and another 15, 20 to find the key. It's ridiculous. PICK UP SERVICE IS HORRIBLE . I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS METHOD TO ANYONE. Just go to target they are much better and less complicated. This is now the second day I have come to get my order and yesterday they closed at 8pm . Which wasn't stated when I called and spoken with guest services and they actually transferred me over to a department that at time was closed. When I arrived at 8:29 the store closes at 10pm . What I just witnessed at this store is a disgrace to the Walmart brand. Employees having a back and forth with a team lead and a worker. The worker going back and forth telling the team lead he been there longer. If it wasn't because I needed the item I came to get I would've threw the item down and walked out. Just very unprofessional. I know that certain locations expect that behavior from citizens because it's that area but to see the employees acting out with something that could've been discussed in the back office and others just walked by. I stopped and urged the group of 2 female Hispanic and 1 male Hispanic and 1 African American male in the middle of the store going back and forth. I'm just taken back. This is a huge store. I guess so, it is a supermarkert. It's were the old compton swapmeet use to be years ago. They have tons baskets, I never seen so many. This store has nice grocery market area and the meats and fruits look fresh. They also have a full deli department which opens up at 10:00am. Of course it has other things which we know what walmarts usually have. They still have good prices too. The store is well stocked and the people who work at this walmart are very nice. The reason a 5 star was not given is because the lady who works at the cash mart are name Tati had a slight attitude but she then adjusted herself and became the beautiful representative that she told walmart she was going to be. I will be shopping here due to 1 stop shop. read more

First time shopping here. Avoid at all cost! Picked up an online order here based on store inventory. I asked two employees where I could pick up my online order, they both were annoyed by me asking. There was one employee who I have to single out, her name is Forever. That's what her name tag read. She helped me with my online order and apologized for her colleagues. Saw a first one star but I loved my shopping experience and I'm a big shopping critic. It's new so the store is shiny & bright, well stocked, clean shopping area, friendly staff, clean restroom, plenty of carts and parking. There's the small push carts & regular for your specific shopping needs. This is a super Walmart so get all your shopping done in one trip. Not sure but it doesn't look as big like the one in Downey but who cares it's serving the South L.A., Lynwood, Compton areas. Happy Walmart built this one for they closed the Chinatown (closer to me), Baldwin Hills locations. Such a bummer. Hope Compton location doesn't change much over time with all I experienced.
