I like going to northgate for their fruits and veggies. But I also love their corn tamales and seafood. But it's always a hit and miss when you buy their seafood prepared. Sometimes they put love and at times it's like they are in a rush. Today was one of those days. I had big chunks of onions on my imitation crab and shrimp item I ordered. I went to the store yesterday morning and i got the WORST customer service ever!!! You have a young lady in the grocery department just talking to another coworker about i don't know what and not even paying attention to me when i was seeking for help!!! Then i went to the meat department and it took more the 20 mins to get called for I was already annoyed mind you I was there at 9am and didn't leave the store until 11am !!!!!!!! The cashiers look like they don't like to be there! The managers in front kept going to the room to i don't know TALK, don't ever shop here! from the start the workers are all rude!!!! Every Saturday my boyfriend gets me buffalo wings and they are delicious but I have noticed what they don't sell on that day they put it under the heat lamp and leave it there all day and sell it on Sunday and it continues like that until it either goes bad or they sell well my boyfriend got me buffalo wings today because he didn't get me buffalo wings Saturday and today they must be from Saturday because this is what they looked like today and they get worse a couple of times he has gotten some food for me from here and it is so hard the dog wouldn't even eat it now that is bad if your dog don't even want it read more

Today we purchased a roasted chicken from this location we have always purchased because they are well roasted just the flavor on it we couldn't eat it. I don't know if its the seasoning that is used or the fire is to close to the chickens while roasting that causes them to have that weird flavor and like gas smell it looked so good but impossible to eat with that uncomfortable flavor read more

Workers are mean! i tried asking a worker where the mayo is and he walked away and ignored me.

I shop at the Norwalk location. Everything is expensive in their stores. The quality of their tamales has been declining day by day. I have been their customer for the longest. Brought the issue of the poor quality to the general manager, he called the supervisor of the kitchen. I offered to pay for 6 tamales to open them and see for themselves. Their tamales hardly have any meat or cheese! Why? They own a large meat department. Each tamale is $2.29 USD. Not cheap! Charge more! Please put more meat and cheese. read more

I went here today, and the cashier I believe her name was maribel, she was in register 5 around 1 and she asked me if I wanted bags I said yes 2 please then she got mad and grabbed my stuff and scanned then threw them all on the counter, some grapes even fell! That was rude. She shouldn't be throwing the stuff after scanning it!!!! I am paying for it so why throw it??? Today my mother went in for her groceries and had a horrible experience with a cashier named IRMA SALGADO with a green name tag She treated my mom extremely rude . The cashier asked my mom how many rabanos my mother had in her bag my mom responded and the cashier Rudely took them out of the bag and touched them with her money touching hands and layed them across where they scan the items ( dirty) counting the exact amount that she was told. She made my mom feel like a lier and she also yelled at my mom because she requested one bag and grabbed another my mom was planning on paying it but made her feel as if she was trying to grab it shame on you maybe try to disimular a little bit that you don't look forward to working here for years. It's usually the older employees that feel they have the right to be rude like if they own the place. I've been attended by the new employees and it's another experience. Looks like they need to go over of how to treat an employee all over again she needs to learn how to value a customer. also noticed that the cashier that helped me out was a whole other cashier being rude working as another name. I was driving by and saw this store have kitchen. went visit, the service was amazing the five stars goes to that. some Manager (male) was supervising the crew. there was some one on training who help me , she was kind of quiet. I asked also for a burrito and Chelo Helped me. that was the best part of the service that Made my day. she went above and behind to made my order accurate. I went back after almost a month of not going and the place is still the same or worse! Its so annoying how they supposedly were gonna make some changes but everything is the same. I don't know what management thinks. I guess they don't really care as long as people keep buying at their store. I took some video of the meat department and you can see puddles of water(the water that drips from the lights) on the meats. I hate how these type of markets always try to take advantage of people. They try to make it seem like they care when all they want is your money. I have no idea how the health department let's them be in business with all the infractions they have. I was contacted by someone from this store to "apologize" in person which I think it's just so they know who I am and I have no intentions of meeting them. They don't care for the customer as they say all they want is $$. If they really cared they would fix everything that is wrong with the store. read more

i got a chocolate cake from bakery it tasted like alcohol on the normal i would be okay with this lol but for reals tasted like if it was going bad like if they used expired ingredients in it...it was for my sons cake smashing pictures for him to eat he tasted it and you can see he was not having it and he usually likes cake i tasted it and immediately thru the cake out my poor baby... but will try another cake from somewhere else... long story short i won't be buying anymore cakes from here again read more

As much as I love Northgate Market I really dislike them Uncomfortable moments when the cashier changes from a positive attitude to being Cynical with the next person. This happened to me with; Cashier Jessica S. C3679 #4923 @ 13:34:27 5JUN2018 S00032 R004 Gave me a Cold Shoulder Attitude and Starred at mean Nasty and then ignored me. I took her attitude like she was being Racist with me as she was speaking Spanish to the person in front of me and then when I spoke to her in English she took it Offensive. Here in the U.S.A. I just moved into the area and my first visit to Compton NorthGate was disappointing. I went in for some cold sandwich meat, to my surprise a lot of their meats were expired. I brought it to an employee attention who paged another employee and after going thru a total of 4 employees , the expired meats were removed.I was fortunate to noticed them because I´m able to read but other people may not be so lucky and purchase food that has been expired. Customer service is poor, store is semi clean, parking lot is filthy, and most employees don´t speak English. I am a sad and concerned customer that would not be returning or recommend shopping at this location. read more

So this store is like selling raspados and fresh waters which are so refreshing BUT i walked in the store today to purchase a raspado and a the manager asked one of the workers (young lady) to prepare me the raspado..... I noticed that the worker did not want to make the raspado..... She instead asked are you sure you don't want a water..... So i felt like she did not offer a good customer service ..... Was lazy because the manager offered to do the raspado and have her work the cashier and she didn't want to do even that.... Like does the store pay employees just to walk around .... So mad. I preordered a cake the day before for my moms birthday and I paid an extra $5 to have an extra filling in it. I went the next day to pick up my cake it had already been paid and they could not find my cake. They spent 15 minutes doodling around searching for it and it turned out the box was sitting on the counter and it had been there for 5 hours. The cake was not cold. I arrive home and stick it into the fridge so that it would cool down and after 2 hours we were ready to cut it and eat it. Everything seemed fine but we cut the cake open and what do you know that extra filling I paid for WAS NOT IN THE CAKE!!!!!! Jeez way to follow instructions on my request!! Not to mention that the people at the bakery were being so rude ignoring me when I tried to speak to them. And they even doubted me and accused me of not having put the order in. I go about 2-3 times a week since its across the street from my house. I had seen nasty stuff at the meat department so I just dont buy my meat there anymore. Today I picked up a couple of stuff including a bag of potato. When I got home my husband and kids notice a strange fishy smell (I have a cold so couldnt really smell). When I opened the bag, I saw that they where no good (just nasty rotten). I took them back of course and told the "manager" and he did was give me my money back, no explanation or apology! If I can give - stars I would. I ordered a Mickey Mouse cake 3 weeks before the date I needed it for. My pickup was at 1 pm I get there at 3 and my cake was not ready. Well not only was it not ready they said they couldn't find my ticket and I lost my receipt (that was my mistake) BUT they do keep a copy as well. Anywho I was so upset this woman who took my order acted as if she never seen me as if I was making shit up I'm sorry I was so upset I would of cussed all of them off BUT I kept my cool. Long story short THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE MY DECORATION FOR MY CAKE THIS WOMAN COMES AND OFFERS ME SESAME STREET.....MARIO??? Really?? If I wanted either or I would of order either or. I couldn't believe how little did they cared for their mistake.
