Horrible! Trying to get a refund is a challenge here. They will either revert the balance on to your card or provide a gift card. Having the balance reverted to your card can take up to two weeks. And having the balance placed on a gift card comes with ridiculous conditions. To begin with, the gift card is not easily read by the cash register. Forcing the cashier to try numerous tasks, until finally they have to call in a manager to get the funds release. Spending as much as 20 minutes trying to get the card to cover the balance. Leaving the customer and those waiting in line extremely frustrated and at times not using the gift card and paying with cash. On other occasions, having others customers so frustrated they offer to pay the balance for you. This happened to me 4 times. The next time I came in, I had customers service confirmed the balance on each card and that they were in working order. And still the card was not functioning at the register and delay the transaction until a manager came over to help! Another problem using a gift card is that once funds are placed on the gift card, they won't transfer the balance back to you original payment. Even if you have your receipt. When I shared these challenges with the customer service representative, she insisted that the cards work and disregard my experience and concerns. When I ask to speak with the store manager in order to get the matter resolved, the customer service clerk wanted to push me aside to wait for a manager whom she didn't even know if the manager was in the store!!! Really?!? Walmarts refunds policies and the procedure with try to use a gift card are NOT ACCEPTABLE! Their corporate office needs to rectify this problem! I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with the state. This procedure is robbing customers of these funds . I will reframe from showing at this Walmart and advise you to do the same! Terrible service! read more

I called to cancel my photo order but the guy said he could cancel but the Fuji pending charge would not refund the fee. Peggy, the front end manager , based on the direction of the store manager (Mike), refused to give a discount on a damaged item. The item, a set of cake decoration tips, had a tip missing (obviously was stolen) from the set. I really only wanted a 30-50 cent discount. The store could have sold the item to me despite the missing tip if they would have offered a minimaI discount. I imagine the item will be put back on the shelf hoping to sell it to someone else who may not notice. They declined to see if they had others in the back despite my willingness to purchase a full set at the regular price. This store does not exhibit the customer service I expect as a consumer. This Walmart is the closest to me, but it's not always the best. I've had a few bad experiences here. First off, it just seems to have less of everything here. Inventory seems to run low compared to other stores. Next, their photo department is so slow and backed up. I ordered pictures to be printed & got an email confirmation that they were done. I arrived, and they were ready yet. In fact I had to wait over an hour more, for my 30+ pictures. Another time, my sister and I were at the self checkout area & a worker accused us of stealing or not scanning items. Well, we didn't do such thing. She crossed checked the bag and items, and realized she was wrong. However, she didn't even apologize to us. It was embarrassing for us that she accused us. I love going to Walmart in the States. (Don't laugh until you've been to the pathetic Canadian ones) I took a 25 minutes walk to my local Walmart to look around and buy some home essentials. I cannot find their price checkers, and sometimes there is no prices on the item or on it's isle. So I end up taking them to the cashier for the moment of truth. The staff working there is extremely nice, almost makes me felt like I am in the southern States. I love their Xmas clothing's and weird slippers section. It is so hard to resist those temptation and not to buy it. They have the best pets section! Hands down! They even have the custom pets collar thing. They have the silver tag with pink bling bling option! I also love the glossy rainbow finishes one! Their hangers options are huge. Sometimes if you don't see it, ask a store representative. I was able to secure a case of hangers with their help. I wished they have more kitchen stuff like glass bottles or canning jars that allow you buy one and not a case. I took a look at their food isle and was able to find some peanut energy bars with nutritional value beating that of Traders Joe's. Too bad they only have one, and that item price is unclear. I've only wish they have more organic or health food options, or even a dedicated isle. I will return. read more

Ordered yard sign for my daughters high school graduation. This is how it finally showed up after not coming on the date promised. Blurry picture, not how it was supposed to look, says your text here and isn't even lined up on the board. Not to mention I had to wait a long time while they had a scavenger hunt to find where they put it. Even tho they called me that it FINALLY arrived. Will never ever order anything photo from this Walmart again. Not enough time to reorder and get in time for her graduation. Not excited about the Walmart because we already have two Walmart in Elk Grove. I don't see a point as to why we need 3 Walmart but the slogan says, everyday low prices. Because of this store, the value of my house will go down. People don't want to live close to Walmart. It attracts weird people to the areas. They have everything locked up including underwear, allergy medicine. Not only do you need staff to help you get the item; they have to take it to register AND ring it up for you. Whole process relies on cranky under paid workers who seem annoyed that they have to help you. But I only started to use it this week ( I have a work phone). I had COLTON look at it and he said I didn't need a more pricey phone but just buy more memory. Your average suburban Walmart. This one is a bit more hidden in than I've seen from other Walmarts being tucked inside a neighborhood, but it has the standard amenities. It also has a lot of the same issues. Parking lot is a mess and got really have to be vigilant of other drivers. There is also a lack of cashiers but they do have a self check out section. I used to visit this Walmart over the Elk Grove Blvd as it is generally less busy, quite a bit cleaner and customer service is generally better. read more

I know better than to try to buy batteries and postage stamps at WalMart, but I was hoping for a different outcome today. No such luck. Apparently WalMart doesn't want to sell any batteries, because they are behind a counter and I would have had to wait in line just to get a package handed to me so that I could finish my shopping. If this is an item that is frequently shoplifted, surely there is a better procedure to protect the product than inconveniencing the honest customers. I always use the express checkout because of the level of incompetence of the cashiers. But they won't stock postage stamps, and when you ask for a book of stamps, they wander off on a tour of the store and if you're lucky they only take 10 or 15 minutes to come back. This is an $11 item. Why can't the policy be to stock a book or two in the drawer? So after the clerk finished doing several things before going to the back of the store to retrieve the stamps, I walked out. Maybe if she has to walk them back without a sale she will have learned something about driving away the customers. I try to avoid any interaction with the employees because of these types of miserable outcomes. And I find myself shopping at different stores to avoid the hassles. Whenever I can't make it to Target, Walmart is always right there! There's a lot of parking spaces and it's located right in the same plaza as McDonald's and Arco!So if you ever need to kill two birds in one stone, you know where to go. Employees do a good job keeping it clean. However I do find employees being rude to customers every time I come in. They always seem to have attitude when a customer asks where something is. Took something that was still new in it's box back to the store to return because it was an option offered to be online and the employees said they cannot accept it because I did not have packaging. I said that it was shipped wrapped it plastic and the employee asked well do you have that? I have never been told that by a retailer when returning something to their own store that I am responsible for shipping packaging also. Never again Walmart. Awful experience here with a nasty and crabby cashier named Cecelia. She actually told me to "go to hell" who does that? Telling me I had a bad attitude and wouldn't help me. I told her that a gentleman had left razors here for me in register 16. She got up looked and said they weren't here. She didn't even look around. I told her again and she got up looked around without really looking and again said not here. I told her she's not even looking and I told her they are Billie razors. Another associate (Shannon and super sweet too) heard us looked around was able to find them by the crabby cashiers area. Crabby started to throw my stuff and said she still was not going to help me. I asked for a manger and all that came was a lead cashier who did nothing. Never addressed what this crabby said to me. Unbelievable. Then as this other lead cashier helped me Crabby was sitting there smirking at me. I waved hi and then she came over to me and tried to step to me. I told her if she touches me I'm calling EGPD. The lead cashier had to step between us and said "no Cecelia" I walked out of there with my stuff but I will never return here to this crazy town store. OK this is Walmart unfortunately within a mile of my residence. I have to admit it is convenient for a quick run and as far as Walmart goes it is clean, limited hours and less riff raff than your normal Walmart. Yet you can put lipstick on a pig - it is still a pig . Tonight was a perfect example. Saw a lady walking around the store with a small dog loose in a grocery cart. I was annoyed but seems like a common occurrence now days. Just saw it at Winco the previous day and in the Nordstrom shoe department about 6 months ago. Now I was in the check out line and the lady with dog comes up behind me,dog is in the area that your normally place a small child in . Next thing I know she screams out that her dog peed on her Coach purse which is on the lower level of the cart and of course the dog urine is now all over the floor. She is upset and tells the young male cashier and he calmly calls for a clean up. He acted like this happens every other day I wasn't mad at him cause he is probably a 18 year old making minimum wage and what else can he do besides call for clean up? I am annoyed with the manager who when I reported this said nothing he can do as people are allowed service dogs. I pointed out that was clearly no service dog. Service dogs are clearly marked, perfectly trained and well behaved and I doubt urinate at will in public He just stared at the dog and had no response so I left the store shaking my head. I am also annoyed with people in our society who think they are so entitled to bring their common house pets into stores where we buy our food and clothing. Now every time I use a grocery cart I have to wonder if a dog has been laying up in it and possibly pissed all over it!! The ghetto-ness and ratchet-ness comes out at night. We got employees hollaring at each other from different isles. Restocking and tossing products to other employees. Singing out loud like they're trying out for American Idol. Flirting with customers, checking them out and making them feel uncomfortable. I Pressed the help button 2 times only and the lady employee came in right away to my rescue. Lol!! I was just so shocked and appreciate her so much. This was not the first time she helped me get stuff inside the locked up items. She was also patient with us ,when we were buying a scooter and looking for the Razor Jetts. She even help us reading what the specifications are to buy the right item. She goes above and beyond!! She sounded like a filipino accent, but looks like a different Asian. At first I found it strange that there would be 3 Walmarts located so close to each other, but this location, by far, is the best one. It is clean and well organized, even during the holiday craziness. It also does not get as busy as the other two. The aisles are not as narrow and it's easier to maneuver and get around. I will go out of my way to go to this location. My only issue is that the fresh produce is limited. Most of the items are only available in bulk and their selection is not as good. If you're going to do your grocery shopping, you're better off at the Walmart Neighborhood Grocery instead. read more

The Walmart in south Elk Grove is new and shiny with a nice facade blending into the neighborhood. However, their location on Bruceville Road suffers even more from the horrible present of Walmart. This is not a supercenter with a smaller grocery section than other stores. Long gone are the greeters and decent items at good prices. The aisles are cramped with surly employees stocking shelves without paying attention to shoppers. Even the prices are no longer a draw with Target, Grocery Outlet, and others providing similar prices and a much better store. What really irked me was the receipt checker at this store. I don't want to be that guy on Yelp, but most stores in Sacramento don't have someone presuming you're a shoplifter and asking to see a receipt. So tacky and unnecessary. I usually end up shopping at Walmarts because they often carry merchandise at the cheapest prices in comparison with other stores. However, mustering up a desire to go to a Walmart, means, one has to deal with crowds of inconsiderate and sometimes rude people who shop there. What is it about saving money and weirdos that seem to go hand in hand? That being said, I urged Joe K. to take me to this particular Walmart and bypass 3 other more conveniently accessible Walmarts. I had never been to this one before and wanted to check it out to get a better handle on whether it would be any different than the others I had been to previously. It is pretty average as Walmarts go, offering a little bit of everything at mostly low prices. And of course, Walmarts seem to have a knack of being conveniently located in just about every neighborhood. When it comes to saving money, shopping here is a necessity because many of us have few choices when you are on a tight budget. This store turned out to be a breath of fresh air and a pleasant surprise from it's spacious parking lot to the clean, organized and well stocked interior. I was looking for the IlluMask light therapy anti-aging mask because the CVS Pharmacy near my house decided to discontinue selling them. It's very frustrating when I get into a habit of using a product that I like, and then it no longer becomes available. I did some research and found out Walmart was selling them. As I walked up and down the beauty aisles of the store and didn't see it, I found a very helpful and friendly employee who went into the back stock room and came back with the an armful of masks. To my surprise, the product was ~$9.00 cheaper than when I was buying it at CVS! I didn't catch the store clerk's name, but I was not only impressed with her customer service with me, but she continued helping other customers nearby who also had product questions. This Walmart is super huge. It took me about 5-7 minutes just to get to each department. There were a lot of staff employees working, but didn't bother to ask if I needed help/assistance with anything. The whole place is a mess literally. The clearance section was unorganized and items were tossed everywhere. This location has a bathroom in the very back and a bathroom in the front. Employees seemed very lazy. I asked an employee for help & he said he doesn't want to use the forklift to bring down the pallet with the items I was looking for. He kept coming back in & out not know what to say or tell me. Biked to this Walmart and left without a bike. After shopping, I came back to a fake Walmart employee who claimed my bike was his bike. I asked him to cooperate with me however he refused to and said he would knock me out if you try to leave with "his" bike. He brought his 6'7 friend to help him so we went to the manager to check the cameras but they took approximately 40 minutes just to review some footage. I went back to check if my bike was there and boom... it was gone. They broke the lock and stole the bike, and the Walmart manager couldn't do anything about it. Ok so I've had to visit this store yesterday back to back twice with a 9 month old baby. It wasn't a fun experience having to drive back and forth but the employees at this Wal-Mart made it so much better. I was checking at the register with all my groceries and personal items only to realize that I had forgotten my wallet at home. So I left embarrassed and in a hurry and forgot about my favorite grocery tote bag there. I came back an hour later and all my stuff was neatly put by customer service and my cold stuff was back in the refrigerator section. Upon arrival I was able to find all my stuff and a nice gentleman who works there even went back and got all my cold items from the fridge. Horrible service. An asianmanger helped me with my moneygram yesterday. Told us if there were any issues we could come back. Today when I arrived, another indian manager says she cant help me with the situation. I was told to wait til 11:00am , fine 15 more minutes to fix the issue. I came here with my gf and friend to buy stuff just to be greeted by a Walmart employee saying we weren't allowed in. We waited outside as others passed us by entering the shop, we were allowed in shortly after. After entering the store we were shopping until I realized an employee was tailing us. So this is the newest walmart in EG...it feels empty compared to the location on Elk Grove Blvd. What I mean by empty is that there are less people and the store isn't crammed with product. The parking is always easy...and their lines aren't ever ridiculously long. I went here on the evening of Black Friday...no issues whatsoever. Just a notice for Seniors...this Wal-Mart does not open early for Seniors any longer. Very disappointed, this was my favorite store.

I would leave negative stars if I could. Yesterday my nieces, ages 8 and 4, were in the toy section of Walmart and a group of teens thought it'd be a funny prank to play porn above them, sounds and all. When confronted, they said they could do what they want. My sister and her husband tried to speak to the staff and the staff said these teens have been an issue but they have their first amendment rights to do such a thing. This is blatantly false, as it is a federal offense and considered sexual abuse to show pornographic material to minors. My sister/brother in law called the police and they agreed it was a criminal act, but they cannot do anything if Walmart won't release the evidence. Well, Walmart is not willing to cooperate. When corporate was called and my sister was about to be transferred to the ethics department, the call conveniently disconnected I hate leaving negative reviews for attention, but we've done what we could so this is a last resort. It is highly unethical to be perpetuating sexual abuse and criminal acts to minors! The way Walmart is handling this and saying this gross act is protected by law is unethical and is honestly so baffling. read more
