I had a really disappointing experience at Belair today. I grabbed some whole milk for my one-year-old, and while checking out at self-checkout, I noticed that the container was leaking milk. I pointed it out to Norm, the cashier overseeing the self-checkout area, and he told me it was "condensation." It was clearly milk. When I asked if I could please get a replacement, he responded, "If you want a new one, you can get it yourself." I found his response extremely rude and unprofessional. I was simply trying to replace a leaking product, and I don't think I should have been treated that way for asking for basic assistance. I hope management addresses this kind of customer service because customers deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect. read more

I had to change my review again, because they did not keep their word: Bel-Air took my review seriously, and assured me that the issue will be dealt with, and not happen again. I was told the money I was out for the Chinese food is being credited to my something extra account, and I would have a $35 credit on my next purchase. On Easter I purchased flowers, and the only credit on my account was $10. Of course it did not cover the cost of the $15+ bunch of roses. I don't quite get why bel-Air and Raleys would promise me one thing and then give me less than a third of what they promised. (For the record, I did not ask for anything. They reached out to me after seeing my honest review. )This means I paid a little over $31 for something I mostly fed to my dog. That's the most expensive dog food he's ever had. We stopped in to get a water jug to share, it was hot and we were dying of thirst! We also purchased the last 3pk of Tippy Toes Drooler Bibs on sale! Definitely much needed for our toddler who went through the one we brought from home! Love the soft cotton, absorbent too! She got hungry, so we got her some Honey Nut Cheerios, too, and my husband, Celsius Live Fit Tropical Vibe x2 for the drive home! Headline: Dated but reliable. Elk Grove is home to three Bel-Airs and I have shopped at all three. Out of all three this place is probably the oldest looking. However, It still have the same service I have seen from all 3. Location: Located off the intersection of Calvine and Elk Grove-Florin, the location is not as nice as the other 3 but honestly have never had any issues here. I have shopped her late at night and its not as sketchy as the Safeway just on the otherside. Also it has a tendency to be quite less busy than the Safeway. Parking is surprisingly good in the area. Food: I have not really tried the hot food here and it looks alright. The dated location doesnt make it look the most appetizing. However, the produce aisle and desert/bakery area looks really clean and havent had any issues with my veggies at this location. Good selection of items and I have not had any issues getting the standard items I need for shopping. If you are use to Bel Air, this place won't disappoint. read more

I love this Bel Air! The staff is always friendly and helpful! I especially love that they give out free fruit for children. My one year old always has to get her banana while we shop. There is a great selection of baby food and baby/ toddler snacks. The hot bar is great and super convenient. I came here for roasted duck. There was only one guy helping customers, and I was surprised by how long the line was for Chinese food. When I got to the front, I discovered why. Can't shop for everything here. It's always out. Not the first time I've had to go elsewhere to find everything or something. Too many times they are out and it's becoming a problem no matter what time of the day you shop. I did an online order. Of the items ordered: they were out of stock for 8 items and those were sale items. And those 8 were to be part of different meals so now I can't complete any. Received cans with dents in them and everything was bagged oddly. Frozen with regular things and cold items with regular things. Do we teach anyone how to bag properly anymore? Shouldn't have to worry about frozen items in a bag that I was going to leave on the counter. I didn't receive a receipt with my order so who knows how much I was charged until I have to go investigating myself. It would be helpful returning dented cans with a receipt but now I feel like I just need to bin them and take the loss. Driving back and being hassled is not worth it. They are $2 more than their rival Safeway, however, Safeway wants more than 24 hours notice while Raley's/BelAir only require 24 hours notice. Turns out, even though I ordered ahead, I received the message that the cook went on break before making my chicken and that would delay my chosen time by one hour. What can I do but accept it. The people on the counter/ registers have good customer service and store is well maintained. However, there is major issue with their Deli department which is never around when you go to there to get sandwiches or hot food. you stand there is ring the bell and no one comes out. It clearly states on the big sign they have it sitting there that deli is open till 9pm but every time in last 6 months I go around 7pm for the 24hr fitness that is located beside it the deli is close. They always say their fryers is broken on something. They just don't care and close when they want and leave. read more

I was in the store one evening it was Sunday around 8:00. The store only had one checker no baggers and the self checkout was full with people waiting. The young lady who was checking out my groceries was very nice but I could see she was stressed without anyone else to help her. This is a bel Air market and no manager to be seen? A person in the self checkout line was asking her questions so I told her to go ahead and I would bag my own groceries which I did. I asked her what the problem was and she said there was a scheduling problem a mixup, but I still couldn't understand why the manager or somebody else wasn't there to help her. One of my favorite places to grab Chinese food. The food is the best when ordered during 11AM when it is hot and fresh. My go to is the salt and pepper chicken. Their kung pao chicken is also great. My mother creates the weekly list and is very brand specific. This can sometimes be a little stressful when I can't find everything on her list. My boyfriend and I find ourselves shopping at multiple grocery stores just to find everything needed. But on this day, we decided to try this store which happened to be in a convenient location for us to deliver said groceries in a timely manner. I had never shopped here before, but I am a fan of Raleys and Bel Air stores in general, so I felt more than comfortable in giving them a try. Plus, they are following the Covid-19 protocols which is very important to me and my family's health concern! The store interior was very clean, fully stocked and well organized. The bakery displayed amazing and eye catching baked goods that made my mouth water and tempted me to impulse buy. But I had to force myself back to reality and focus on my parent's shopping. In the produce department, the fruits and vegetables were arranged in healthy looking colors of freshness. I had little problem in locating what products I needed as we browsed each aisle. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised to find every item on our shopping list in stock, right down to the correct brands! This made our day! One list, one store! Customers beware of this store over charging for their wine, champagne, and other alcohol. Make sure you look around before buying here. I bought Veuve Clicquot 750ml champagne from here for $100, while all others stores offer 49.99, 58.99 prices. They do not have return policy on their alcohol, once you buy you own it, no refund or exchange which I learned the hard way. I was very disappointed with their customer service, especially from their store director. I even called their HQ customer service, and they didn't care much and willing to offer any store credit. This is our go-to neighborhood grocery. Raley's -or- Bel Air is what I like to think of as a, "cut above" other grocery stores. The produce seems taken care of a bit more. Still needs to be visually inspected, but what I've found is that they usually have labels for the origins of where everything has been grown (CA, Mexico, etc). Then, they tend to keep everything in the same aisle region. There's nothing worse while shopping than getting used to the layout and then the store is changed around and you have to hunt for the same products. When I buy the Beyond burgers, per example, I would expect to find them in the grocery section, but at this location they are actually in a freezer by the designated meat. I've also found the Raley's app to be beneficial for checking weekly sales, or having a virtual copy of the newspaper "ad" on the phone. You can gather rewards by registering your phone number and just using that during check out. I have yet to try the grocery delivery option, but friends have and they've mentioned that it was a nice feature available. Also, I can't say this for every store visited, but here at this Bel Air, I always feel for the most part "safe" while entering/exiting the parking lot. It's well lit, maintained, plenty of spaces, and just gives a good vibe. read more

I love this grocery store. Fresh produce, fresh smiles, and friendly staff! I've never reviewed a grocery stores before but felt this location deserved it. I've been shopping around as I am new to this city, between to grocery outlet which is coincidentally located across the street to me but scares me just to walk in there, rather make the drive to wind-up when I feel the need for an adventure, looking lines, and a fair share of what you would normally are at a Walmart, which is a store I street clear of. I wish I could remember the guys name that works in the bakery, he was my first great experience at this location. He happen to be in the prepped folks area which he mentioned he was unfamiliar with but didn't let that stop him from being friendly and making great suggestions on what I should try. That same day I went to check out and was greeted by a friendly female cashier. She asked if I had like a rewards card and I was unaware of what this was, so she took the time to explain it and told me every dollar counts as a point and you get money back for every 100 points, if you sign up your first purchase you get 200 few points. Instead of holding up the line she placed my order on hold and took me to a manager to help sign me up. I believe his name was Sean. Very friendly, explained the program, after explaining that I was blown away by his staff and how happy it made me to shop somewhere like this and have never had an experience like this before at any stores. He smiled and seemed proud and thanked me. Not only that, he noticed I was purchasing rib eye steaks and mentioned that today was the last day for new York steaks for $7.99/lb. I come here mostly for the service center and occasionally Redbox. But they do sell groceries too, so sometimes if I need a last minute food item or cake, I'll stop here. The good: You can mail stuff at the service center via the US Postal Service. The desk carries stamps and mailing items (including the free flat rate envelopes/boxes). The hours here are a LOT better than the post office locations: Monday through Saturday 8am-7pm, and Sundays 10-5. Postal pickup is 2pm and 5pm during the work week, and 2pm on Saturday. The cakes are also pretty good...I know someone whose favorite cake is the Italian Rum here. The good to know: Prices might be higher than a "value" grocery store, but they do have their rewards program for frequent grocery shoppers. Would I recommend? Yes, especially around the holidays. You can avoid the long postal lines, and pick up a holiday cake or baked goods at the same time. read more
