Corydon Edgecomb, OD - 11/8/2018: Picking up my contact lenses + final fitting for snorkel+ski masks.

10/18/2018: I must admit I was taken aback when the VA Mather Hospital enrolled my optometry…read moreappointments into "Tri-West Healthcare!" I received a notice via snail mail then, I received an unannounced, follow-up call from "Tri-West" to immediately contact Dr. Edgecomb's office for my next optometry appointment. WOT???? Uh~WOT???? WHOA~I had no clue I was being transferred nor did I receive a warning from VA Mather Hospital I was being transferred as Dr. Edgecomb's optometry patient! NICE notification, eh? Anyway, I scheduled my first appointment around the second week of September 2018: To my utter dismay, Tri-West only submitted my name and also, I'm a Military Veteran receiving medical care at VA Mather Hospital . . . Dr. Edgecomb's Medical Staff never received my optometry medical records from VA Mather Hospital equating utter Peter Principle incompetency at Tri-West's finest daftness, i.e., Dr. Edgecomb's and his Medical Staff had to start from scratch not knowing ANYTHING about my medical, optometry history! Dr. Edgecomb was fervently lost when I first visited his office; he had no medical records whatsoever regarding anything about the reasons being transferred as his new eye patient! Dr. Edgecomb: "So~What brings you here today?" He's fumbling looking at two pages of just my name and I'm a Military Veteran looking at his expression on his face appearing forlornly lost . . . DOH! Me: "Uh . . . I need renewing my eyeglasses' and contacts' prescription." Dr. Edgecomb: "Well~I guess I have to start a new examination for you, since I don't have your VA Medical Records." Yeah, Tri-West: How DARE you insert Dr. Edgecomb in the most unsettling feeling of fettered incompetency when Tri-West FAILED submitting my optometry medical records to his office BEFORE MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT? BEST proactive plan: Go to VA Mather Hospital requesting TEN YEARS worth of my optometry medical records for Dr. Edgecomb's office! Since obtaining my VA medical records, Dr. Edgecomb and his Medical Staff have the ability understanding my optical issues succinctly-finally! It took awhile for Dr. Edgecomb finalizing my eyeglass and contacts examinations receiving my updated, eyeglasses' distance, reading, and coming soon, my contact lenses' prescriptions but currently, I was able recently submitting both my distance and reading eyeglasses' prescriptions to VA Mather Hospital; however, Dr. Edgecomb's formulary, medical prescription cannot be filled at the VA Pharmacy due to the pharmacy only carries generic, prescription formulas. Conundrum: Problems, problems with Tri-West, VA Mather, and VA Pharmacy's incompetency is absolutely mind-boggling which Dr. Edgecomb just patiently, "{sighs}!" Regardless, Dr. Edgecomb is now configuring fitting both my scuba and ski mask with eyeglass inserts you may remove should you need replacing either masks-spectacularly ingenious! Thank you so very much, Dr. Corydon Edgecomb accepting me as a VA Medical Patient and especially, for ALL the failures the VA Tri-West subjected you egregiously suffering!

Dr Edgecomb's office staff are very friendly and offered to help. Dr Edgecomb came out himself to make the adjustment, even removing the lens to not risk breaking it. We even chatted about skiing and our great experience I highly recommend Dr. Edgecomb's office.

Friendly staff and a great experience. We called were able to get a same day appointment. They…read moredidn't push unnecessary times on us like the dr. office at Costco in Ranch Cordova. Dr. Stacy was kind and took his time. Check them out!

My husband and I (and our 2 darling children) were treated like 2nd class citizens here. We will happily be spending our large frame allowances elsewhere. The front desk person (the Dr.'s wife?) was extremely rude and uncomfortable with us being in the store. My husband had been there earlier that week to try on frames and wanted to show me the 4 frames he was considering for purchase. I was excited that he found that many styles he liked! Immediately upon walking in we were glared at (children perhaps?) "I can't help you right now" said the front desk person . "That's ok. I just want to show my wife the frames I liked." said my husband. "Sigh...." said front desk person while trudging over to show us the frames. 2 well-behaved k ids proceeded to sit and be silent. Front desk person gets very nervous and says: "This is REALLY not a good time. I just let a girl go home." (And that should be our problem becauuuusssse...) "We don't really need your help...just looking." says my husband. Front desk REALLY looks nervous, puts her hands out defensively and says: "No...I can't help you." I offer up: "Let's go. It's obviously NOT a good time." I won't even go into what happened when my husband decided to go back in and talk to Dr. Stacy about the poor customer service. Wouldn't YOU want to know if one of your employees treated people in the manner I've described? Apparently not, because the police were called. Yup. In this day of people having MANY options for where to spend their eye care $$$, I can't imagine spending my $$$ here. Take our advice (and it appears the advice of several other Yelpers) and head to LensCrafters just down the way. They know the meaning of customer service. That is all.

Even now that I live in La Quinta, I still order from them. That alone should tell you how solid they are. The office is clean, organized, and runs efficiently. You're not sitting around waiting, everything moves the way it should. What stands out most is how thorough they are. They take their time, explain things clearly, and make sure you understand what's going on. It never feels rushed. The staff is welcoming and easy to deal with, and you can tell they actually care about doing things right. They also have a great selection of frames and focus on quality. Overall, just an amazing place. Reliable, professional, and worth sticking with even if you're no longer local.

Their lack of proper training, unprofessional behavior, and apparent carelessness significantly impacted the quality of service provided. This level of disregard for patient experience is unacceptable and warrants immediate attention and corrective action.
