I had an unfortunate accident that left my glasses basically unwearable due to the frames being bent so bad that the prescription didn't align to my eyes anymore. I really thought that my glasses would need new frames or total replacement. I placed a call to the office to make an appointment and instead I was told that I could just walk in. When I got there 15 mins later, I was met by two incredibly helpful staff members who quickly assessed my glasses and took them into the backroom. The repair was simply amazing. I don't think I've ever had such a thorough eye exam before. She thoughtfully answered all my questions and walked me through my struggle with progressives. She's extremely knowledgeable, professional, yet personable and caring. Really can't say enough good things about her. Cameron Park Eyecare is my go-to place for anything and everything optometry. I've been a patient with Dr. Lei for just over a year now, and it has always been a positive experience for me. I will be honest, personally I have never enjoyed doctors visits of any kind. I typically think of visits such as eye care and dental care as those "necessary evils" that one needs to grin and bear annually to check off the box that you are taking care of the basics. Things are different with Cameron Park Eyecare and their staff. Every time I have walked into their office, I am always greeted with a "hello" or a "good morning" or a "be right with you" - it's the little things, such as being acknowledged, that make a world of difference! I also appreciate how neat and orderly their office always is. You can tell they take great care with cleanliness and making a positive impression for their patients. They certainly keep in mind taking those extra sanitary precautions due to COVID - taking the time to sanitize their machines before and after each use - which I can absolutely appreciate. Their staff is always polite, friendly, and orofessional. Also, Dr. Lei is a hoot!! Each visit I have had with her results in laughter at one point or another during the visit while chatting about family and funny situations we encounter in our daily lives. Dr. Lei is very thorough with her exams, walking you through what she is doing and being patient with her customers. My visits thus far have always been pleasant and I never feel rushed. I have purchased prescription sunglasses, contacts, and glasses from their office, and each time has been a success! The staff is always helpful and make great suggestions and recommendations when I have tried their office samples, and anytime I have had a concern (i.e., I get dry eyes easily, so when I purchased contacts, they provided me with information and reviews and recommendations of specific brands that help combat dry eye, as well as the best eye drops to use) they are able to assist me and address them right then and there. Their office, in my personal opinion, also has a wonderful selection of frames for glasses and sunglasses, as well as contact lens brands. And they have great options for every budget. There are many different shapes, colors, and sizes for anyone's wants and needs! And their vendor is wonderful - I have never had to wait longer than 2 weeks for an item to arrive at their office once I picked out my eye correction option, and so far, each prescription eye item I have ordered has been EXACTLY what I both wanted and needed. I recently got an eye exam and contact lenses. Not really happy with the extra lens fitting fee I was charge without telling me before but ok. But now my new lenses give me terrible near-sightedness so I called to ask my options. I was told that I would need to spend $150 for another exam to fix it, and that I can't return the lenses I bought because the box is open. I was also told that I have the same prescription I had before so any change is just natural eye aging. Except that it was night and day when I changed to the new lenses, not a gradual change. Not the help I was looking for. In fact no help. They're very nice even when telling me I'm screwed so I gave 2 stars. read more

This is one of two optometry offices in Cameron park covered by my insurance. When I walked in for my appointment, the office was shabby and very run-down looking. Hmmm. Not a deal breaker, but it didn't inspire much confidence. The staff was friendly, but more interested in talking to each other, which suited me fine. I had a raft of paperwork to fill out. The doctor seemed competent, though she spoke to me like I was a child (I'm 43), which was a major irritant. The exam was cursory, with none of the questions I've been asked by other eye doctors. But the real red flag was when I was charged a $70 copay for my contact lens exam. Wow. I paid it, because what choice did I have? There was also a LOT of pressure to buy a full year supply of my lenses from the office. My usual practice is to buy as many as my insurance will cover and then purchase the rest at Costco. They didn't like that at all and made me feel as if I was being careless with my eyes. I won't be returning. A few months later, My daughter visited Dr. Inouye on Palmer Lane and had a much better experience, without the exorbitant copay and high pressure sales pitch. Much better experience! read more

Staff is very friendly and professional, especially the Dr. I was asked if I wanted some additional test, and how would I know if I needed them, but they were quick to inform me that there was additional cost. I did all the test and received an excellent explanation from the Dr on details, so I understood them. Was called back twice to let me know that the original cost of $246 for all services was now and additional $75, then an additional $85, so what started out to be a good price, no longer was, so in summary, I feel they are too expensive, so in the future I will just get the exam, then purchase the glasses online for considerable savings. Update, staff was able to actually reduce the cost by researching my insurance, so I am not very please for the extra efforts read more

I was more than a little disappointed when I realized the eye drops that were used to dilate my son's eyes in August 2014 had an expiration date of 2/2012. I brought it to the Dr.'s attention and she seemed to be surprised and said they'd have to throw that one out. How does this happen? I really liked the younger female assistant. She was probably the reason I stayed with them for a year prior to this last visit. I am now looking for a new optometrist. read more
