Walmart has gone down hill. No real customer service. They make you lock up your bags in the locker, scan your own stuff, you walk to the door and they check your receipts like you're a criminal. We usually go early morning, and seems the workers get bothered by you asking a question. We came in this morning at 5 am to do an exchange and the door lady say 6 am. Wtf no one is trained to do a exchange or return? Makes no sense!! Isn't Wal-Mart supposed to be a convenience store, more like inconvenient! read more

I like to come here for things that Sam's Club don't carry such as the ramen favors that they don't carry. Being that this is the sister store of the store upstairs they carry much of the same things but at a higher price. But if you shop carefully you'll find a few gems here such as their pastries and some of the canned goods. What I find is that if there is a sale on certain cans of soda you have to be there fast as they do run out of inventory fast. Generally, the prices here are much better than many local grocery stores. Only, Long's has better prices and sometimes Target on certain things. But what sets this store apart from others is the sheer size and many departments. What I like especially about Walmart is that they have been at the forefront of making medications more affordable through their programs. I commend them for their effort in this area. read more

You probably shouldn't keep things "off shelf" if your workers are going to be useless. I went here today looking for a Cricut explorer and it said to ask an associate at the craft area. I did so and she 1) had no idea what I was talking about even though I was showing her the exact item on the app and 2) didn't want to bother helping me check the stock of other locations when their store didn't have it in stock. Stopped in as I am visiting and wanted to pick up some found in Hawaii items. They have a whole section, a lot of different options of macadamia nuts, chocolates, coffee, souvenirs, etc. They even have lotions, woodwork, keychains. I went into the electronics section wanting a Bluetooth aux for my car. When I had found what I wanted, I proceeded to look for a worker to help me get the item out of the caged section. I came across BECKY, Can I just say when I walked up to her she had the sourest face. She was so rude. She needs to learn how to smile, how can someone be in customer service and act the way she had. She needs to adjust her attitude and be more nicer to customers, no exception. Not a good experience. She was also working the cashier and the whole 20 minutes I was waiting in line, not one smile appeared on her face as customers greeted and exited her lane at the cash register. The Restroom is dirty. Looking for cough medicine and pretty much all out of stocks! Hard to find what I need everyone are busy re-stocking with huge boxes. This review is based upon service received in the electronics aisle. We were helped by a very rude lady of older age. They didn't have the new AirPods pro on the sales floor but the website showed them in stock, and after walking near the counter they had them hidden in a cage. I mentioned to the associate that I wanted to buy the one in the cage and she goes and grabs the older generation and says "theyre all the same AirPods" please have your electronics associates know what they're talking about before making statements. Clearly one says "pro" LOL btw management she threw a handful of the older AirPods, might want to check for damaged products! That's 100s of dollars of products aunty just threw! read more

WORST STORE EVER!!! I searched an item on the Walmart app and it said it was "Unknown" if it was In Stock at this location. So I called to ask if the item was available at this location. I called 4 times and was placed on hold for over 20 minutes before someone told me that "they didn't think so". They also carry a large selection of pellon. Their sewing supply section is good too. I needed a new pair of scissors and couldn't believe how many scissors you can choose from. OKAY OKAY! I'm a BIG fan of Walmart lol and this has got to be my favorite Walmart location in the whole wide world!!!! They have so many items here that they don't sell at other Walmarts in the U.S. First off~ Souvenirs GALORE! No need to fall into tourist traps that will sell you $5-10 keychains or mugs! Get your souvenirs here at Walmart everyday low prices! They even sell hula dresses!! OMG WHAT A STEAL WHAT A DEAL ( For people from out of state, no need to order from Aloha Supply online). Lots and lots of fan gear for University of Hawaii! HECK I didn't even attend U.H.Manoa and I still bought their gear ha ha I wish I went there!!! Macadamia needs, hurricane popcorn etc. TIP FOR TOURISTS: Buy a styrofoam cooler here, it's less than $5. My cousins and I did this while we were on vacation. Buy loads of drinks water bottles, soda, juice etc. and when you go back to you hotel get the free ice from the machine and you can use your styrofoam cooler instead of minibar drinks, you can also bring the cooler to the beach which we did. The drinks will stay nice and cold even though it's a heatwave outside!! WIN!!!!! I also hate that they have bar soaps at hotels. I mean come on, once another person dirties up the bar after using the toilet then everyone else has to use the soap. Buy a cheap liquid soap here for $1 it will last you your whole trip. Also, buy the cheap $2-$3 shampoo and conditioner it will be wayyyy better then the teeny tiny bottles at the hotel. Normally I have no complaints about this Walmart; I appreciate the fact that it's a convenient location for me. The cashiers need a refresher course on customer service; there are some good workers, but today I encountered one that annoyed me. She didn't ask if I wanted to bag my liter bottles of soda; she just took the first one I had placed on the counter and multiplied it by the number I had in my wagon. I then placed the two cartons of ice tea, scanned them, and totaled what I owed. I did tell her I had my reusable bags with me, but she chose to ignore me. It wasn't worth my time to argue with her. I paid and bagged my things myself. If I had known she was going to do that, I could have gone to the self-serve area. I still go to Walmart, especially if I go to Sam's upstairs. Customer service is still hit or miss with this Walmart. I'm wondering if the fact that their self-service area has expanded plays a part in the way their workers interact with the customers. Today the person who rang up my purchases had no personality whatsoever; he acted like he was doing me a favor. My mom is a huge fan of Wal-Mart. Any city or region she visits, she has to stop at the nearby Wal-Mart. Me? I'm not a huge fan. When my wife saw some people walking on the street with Wal-Mart bags, wanted me to check if there was one nearby. I wasn't too crazy looking for one, but I searched using my GPS, and lo and behold, there was one less than half a mile away. Wonderful. My wife and Mom were all excited, and said we may as well check this place out because it's nearby. Wonderful. It was indeed easy to find, on Keeamoku, close to Ala Moana Center. This Wal-Mart shares the same parking structure as Sam's Club, so parking was pretty easy. As soon as we entered the store, we all split up: my Mom and Dad went one direction, my wife was on her own, and I had the kids (the kids and I took turns pushing each other with a shopping cart). As Michelle C. said in her review, it's not the biggest Wal-Mart. Lots of tourists, both US and international, were in here stocking up on Hawaiian souvenirs and gifts. Gotta say, prices were pretty cheap. Yes, Costco may be cheaper, but you'd have to buy a large quantity of one kind. At least here, they have a good variety without buying a triple shrink-wrapped pack. We did pick up some different varieties of chocolate macadamia candies for gifts back home, as well as some more snacks to bring back to our hotel room. They have a refrigerator/freezer food section, but we ended up buying our food from one of the Safeways. My Mom was really glad we stopped here, so ended up coming back a few days later. read more

Well, if you are a tourist without a car in Waikiki, you can hit all the local ABC Stores for convenience items. But if you are a local or a tourist with a car and you want to get a lot bigger selection at low, low prices, there is a Wal-Mart here in Honolulu. It's on Keeamoku halfway between Kapiolani and King Street. It has its own parking lot, which is free. It's not really walking distance from a Waikiki hotel unless your up for a decent hike. It has most of the usual choices you would find in most Wal-Marts, with cheap prices. If you are a local, you need to come here to save money on basics, which you need to do with the cost of living here in Honolulu. If you are a tourist, this is a great place to load up on items you either forgot to pack, or ran out of room to pack. Like sundries, sun block, snacks and drinks, etc. We got 2 water proof watches, sunglasses, two types of vitamins, Japanese rice crackers, and drinks for about $50. read more

WALMART I HATE YOU PATRONS OF WALMART: I HATE YOU MORE But.... You're SO CHEAP and... CHEAP.......... other than that, I cry every time I need to step foot into this place. Warning: You will enter a danger zone once driving in. A zone full of zombies that move like slugs, demons that you must battle for parking, and once inside, a myriad of brainless people who are consumed in their own little bubble and won't move out of your way or care about anyone more than a foot away from them. Sometimes, I will even bump into one of these creatures and they don't notice or care. Be prepared with an emergency bag of patience and ropes to keep your hands constrained in case the urge to harm someone arises. (Unfortunately laws do exist in this world of Walmart). Your quality is sad. Your company ethics are horrible. You're cleanliness is poor. Your workers are very unhelpful and constantly miserable (which I can't blame really...), your parking SUCKS, your stock is 50% of the time not stocked, you smell, and you're just overall a place I hate to support and enter. But... - you're 24/7, so I can get my last minute school supplies, car necessities, food, etc. - The prices are lower than other places on name brand make-up and other products - And you carry a wide assortment of products which would be way more convenient if they were only stocked all the time. Tips: If you must come here, avoid peak hours of noon - 10pm. ( I advise coming at midnight) ^Half joking, half not...^ Oh and just skip parking at the lower level. I would consider this place to be a bigger version of K-Mart where customer service just mirrors each other. Whats even worse is when I asked a worker for directions where they kept their mason jars, she had the asininity to talk to me with her back turned with her arms pointing in backwards to direct me to where I wanted to go. Omfg I had to bite my tongue. I asked her again could she give me an isle number and she continued to talk to me with her back turned and I couldn't understand what she was saying. I ended up asking a warehouse worker pulling a pallet jack for directions which he did and only to find out the item I wanted was sold out. Whatever they had on the shelf is all they had. Walmart.....Hmmmmm....I think all Walmarts have a reputation for, well, being Walmart. If you don't what I mean by that then.... Expect parking to be a bit of a hassle. Everyone tries to park as close to the entrance as possible while there are so many stalls available in the middle and back of the parking garage. Chances are you'll be a few cars behind the one that's waiting for that car to back out that's near the entrance. If you want to save yourself time, park where you see the first cluster of empty stalls. It's ok. A little walking isn't going to hurt ;). By the time you get inside, the other people in front of you will probably just be barely finding a parking spot. This place gets crowded so be cautious of your surroundings, especially if you want to avoid body-bumping. Also, don't leave any of your valuables in the cart! A few years ago, my mom had placed her bag down and before she knew it, it was gone =/. Lines can get pretty long too. If you don't have that many items, try checking out the lines on the right. Those are the "10 items or less" line and tend to have a lot shorter lines! You could also try the ones on the left which is self-check out. Walmart always has pretty low prices so it's hard to beat that. Also, it's nice that they're open 24/7. Another thing they're doing right is that they're closed on Christmas Day. First off - there's no denying that they have the lowest prices. It's true. You won't find another store that matches it - really, the best deals. But as for their customer service - let's just say that it would be filed under "shitty deals." I'm in the market for a booster seat and according to all the reviews I've read on the interwebz, Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Booster Seat is the way to go. So we start going from store to store to find this infamous booster seat, and of course, Walmart has the best deal - $139! Target - $163.99;l Babies R Us - $179. I found one seat at the Pearl City Walmart - last one available, so we scooped it up. And like a lot of families, we need one more, and so began our search. I went to the Keeaumoku store first because we live in Kaimuki and it's the closest one. It wasn't on the floor. I asked the first associate I saw if they could assist me with checking if they had the item in the back. The associate said that whatever was on the floor was the only items they had in stock. So, I went to the customer service desk to ask if an associate could call the other stores for the booster seat. The associate was unable to assist me because "she could not get an outside line." She suggested I call myself when I got home. OK - slight detour - WTF?!?! What?? Can't dial "9" to get on outside line?! What chain store can't contact another store IN THEIR OWN DAMN CHAIN?!?! Does this make any sense to anyone??? ...end scene. I went home and according to their website, two other stores - Mililani and Waipahu (I think that's supposed to be Kunia) had the item in stock. This is where it get dumb - yeah, that's right. More dumb than "I can't get an outside line." The Walmart website instructs customers to give the UPC code to the sales associate when asking for assistance. I called the first store, Mililani - and the associate would not take the UPC code. They only took down the name of the product and after 2 minutes insisted that Mililani Walmart does not carry high back booster seats. So I'm thinking, hey, I'm calling on a Sunday evening, probably not too much staffing available, I'll go easy. I'll call tomorrow morning and maybe they'll have more staff available. When I called the next day, the associate took the UPC code, but she said there was nothing in stock. I was like okay, maybe I'll just buy it online and ship it in. So I went online and even though I chose "Ship to Store" because you know, it's free, I had to change that near the checkout because they won't do that shit for Hawaii. Sidebar - WHY THE FUCK NOT?!?! So we're not part of the contiguous 48 states. Uh, last time I checked, we were part of the United fucken States!! Hawaii is not some freakin' territory anymore!! And NEWSFLASH - don't they SHIP the store's merchandise from the mainland to the store?!?! So why can't you just throw in my booster seat and I'll come and pick it up?!?! I'm paying for it before it gets shipped - it's a freaking guaranteed sale!!! WTF!!!!! ...rant over. Anyhoos, the hubs called today, and the associate verified that the item is available (just like the website said it was), but it was not on the floor and was in a storage area. So, the hubs, my 5-year old son, and I drove 25 miles in traffic to purchase this infamous booster seat. When we get to the Mililani store, the associate tells us she needs to go to the back to get the item and that it may take a while, so we should just do our shopping. We look around, but really, we're there for just the seat. We kill time at the in-store McDs. After one hour, she comes back to tell us that the item was in a storage area that would not be accessible to her since all stock employees were gone for the day. We just drove 25 fucking miles for nothing. I appreciate the fact that Walmart has the lowest prices, but if lower prices come with poor customer service, then I need to rethink if it's worth anyone's time to continue to shop at your establishment. read more

Here's 3 teenage boys, wearing stockings on their heads, baggy pants, with their cool boxer shorts protruding out the top, gold bling around their necks, walking aimlessly through the aisles, as if they're cruising the boulevard in a low-rider, but they're walking through a frigging Walmart! They are all standing in the middle of the aisle with 3 shopping carts, blocking ingress and egress to/from the milk aisle. "Excuse me." I nicely intone. No response, as they are talking about the merits of the California Hotel as opposed to the Fremont Hotel in downtown Vegas (both very lovely establishments, I'm sure). "Excuse me!" I assertively, forcefully exclaim. They move aside, but in a slow, passive-aggressive manner. I finally get the milk, which is just under $5, and I wonder, is this really worth it, to pay about a dollar less and have to run the gauntlet of people with no social intelligence? One of my friends would be proud of me, since my drivel smacks of elitism, and he is a proud professorial elitist. But it just makes me sad that I should have to shop at a store like this just to get "cheap" milk. Sadder still that I am patronizing a store known for exploitative employment practices. What a hypocrite! And all for a gallon of milk. read more

This is supposedly my favorite walmart in the island due to its selections,varieties and of course the affordable price.Today was not one of the day thanks to one rude and unfriendly cashier name BERNA .It was time for me to pay and earlier I have 3 items put on aside because it was a locked up item so when I ask her she answered me WHAT and I was not done explaining to her that an associate help me and specifically told me that it will be ready there so already she told me NO and did not bother to search around her register.So I look for the associate that help me and walk back with me at the register and it was there. And BERNA said she wasn't aware .well as customer she could have ask or look around her because her counter is not huge.VERY POOR SERVICE. I will still shop here but will make sure that I will not deal with that rude and unfriendly person named BERNA. read more

The one constant thing about Walmart: Parents waddling through the aisles with their screaming brood of five children. One child is riding the store tricycle in circles; another is letting out a blood-curdling cry for candy, for the new Transformers action figure, for attention, for ANYTHING; the other child, noticing that her sibling is having fun riding her tricycle and wants to join in too, takes it upon herself to initiate a game of bike tag in the MIDDLE OF THE STORE, while the other two children have wandered off with relative ease because the parents are too busy having heart-to-heart conversations with the rest of the kids that usually include a line like "'Eh, YOU LIKE SLAPS?" or something to that effect. Walmart gives us something that other stores don't provide - a strong sense of not wanting kids (or at least not to the point where you can't remember all of their names.) For being the best birth control known to man, 4 stars! read more
