She was prescribed muscle relaxant to be filled through the Walgreens however, by the end of Saturday. Walgreens had failed to fill the prescription. Oddly, Sunday morning my wife got an automated voicemail from the Walgreens Corporate office saying that the prescription has been filled and could be picked up after 9 o'clock on Sunday the 26th. I showed up on Sunday the 26th at 10 AM. Went to the back of the store to find the pharmacy section absolutely shut down. I asked an employee and he said" the pharmacist did not come in today and we cannot sell any prescription medication whatsoever." As I walked in utter disbelief towards the front of the store, I found several customers waiting to be waited on and two store employees. I blurted out so that everyone could hear me, Could anybody tell me exactly when does the pharmacy actually plan to have a licensed pharmacist at the store so that the pharmacy could actually sell medications that are prescribed by doctors?!!! and then I stormed out of the store. " On the way home, I got to thinking how many people were going to be we're going to be/were inconvenienced over the weekend simply because Walgreens couldn't or wouldn't sell medication prescribed by doctors; since we didn't get anything Saturday afternoon from Walgreens, it makes me wonder if there was even a pharmacist there on Saturday as well ; we were in limbo because the prescription had been called into the Walgreens pharmacy, which was not in operation. We had to wait until Monday for the prescription to be filled by H-E-B. I simply cannot believe there is not a back up plan to have a substitute pharmacist brought in from another area Belleville, Brian, even Houston!; come on Walgreens you're a national brand you've lost two customers for sure bye-bye ..Aufwiedersehen!

The pharmacist, Colin, needs anger management classes. Yesterday, after receiving a text two days…read moreearlier from my doctor saying my anxiety meds that I was completely out of were ready, I went to pick up my prescription and they said it wasn't there. From his perch, Colin asked which meds and I told him. He said I'm not due for a refill for 2 more weeks. He obviously didn't get the update from my doctor that two weeks earlier I was instructed to double my dosage and now I was out. My doctor also made it clear that it was medically dangerous for me to stop taking those meds cold turkey. I tried to appeal to Colin's humanity and asked if it was possible to borrow a couple doses until we got it figured out, he suddenly became enraged, yelled at me over my weak pleas for understanding, got down from his perch and stormed towards me in a threatening manner, raising his voice all the way, then slammed a copy of my old prescription (instead of the updated one) down on the counter and began to turn to go back to his high horse. He was behaving like a petulant child. I have been patronizing his shop for 12 years, since we moved to Elgin, and it was always pleasant there. I kind of looked forward to visiting his pharmacy. My wife and I prefer to shop locally. But yesterday, Colin seemed crazed suddenly for no good reason. After several calls to my doctor's office, the prescription finally got updated at Elgin Medicine Shop. I called from my job in Austin to see if Colin had received the new 'script and he said he had. Then I merely remarked "you were a tad aggressive today" hoping we could find a way to smooth things over, but he doubled down, raising his voice again, saying I wouldn't listen to him earlier. It is true, I wasn't listening to him say over and over that the prescription he had wasn't the dosage that I was told. But isn't it part of a health care professional's job to listen to the patient/customer? I told him that after I picked up these meds I was going to find a different pharmacy from now on. He exploded "We can end this relationship right now! What pharmacy do you want me to send this to?" I just hung up, shaking. Boy, I guess those meds do work because I felt like I had been set way back in my wellness journey. Colin then called my wife, at her job, asking her which pharmacy did we want him to send the prescription because I had hung up on him, adding that I was going to claim that he yelled at me but he didn't. She said that he did say he was "stern with me". Since when is it remotely acceptable for a pharmacist to get "stern with" a customer trying to get their anxiety meds??? Seriously, Colin should be investigated, for the safety of our community. Steroids, maybe?

Super quick to get my meds and the pharmacist was friendly and very professional. The prices for the over counter medicine is also cheaper than most places such as your normal pharmacies - looking at you Walgreens & CVS. and if you don't find what you're looking for, you can ask the pharmacist to order it for you (that is if you can wait a day or two for it to arrive). If you are waiting for your medicine, you could even drop into the supermarket or one of the food shops next door and get your shopping done as well. Oh yeah flu shots and pneumonia shots are available here so get your shots people.
