I went in a month ago to get something to help me pass a kidney stone I knew I had (I've had 5 of them previous to this one), however Dr. Herman wanted me to get a CT scan and didn't even bother to perform an exam on me so it was pretty much pointless for me to go in in the first place. He said his staff would send in an RX for the CT asap and so I waited for them to send it off and then left. Well two days later, just as I expected, I passed the stone in my home without any meds, which was the most painful thing ever. I didn't even bother telling the office because they are useless, but I figured I would still get the CT so I could see if I had any more. Well a month and a week later, I get a call form the hospital saying they JUST received the notice that I needed a CT ASAP, however, there was no script attached to perform it and I would need the doctor to send over the actual script. WHAT IDIOTS?! Please save yourself the head ache and money and find someone, anyone better than this poor excuse of a doctor. Sincerely, a very angry ex patient.

The Shadyside…read moreoffice has recently moved and due to parking limitations, they now offer complimentary valet parking. I pulled up to the building and sat outside the front entrance for 10 minutes and no one came out. I called the office and was told someone would be out in just a minute. (when you call the number listed, you are not calling the office but an answering service). After 20 minutes of waiting and 3 phone calls to the office, I drove around and found a parking spot that was permit parking only, but I didn't care because I was already late for my appointment. When I was in the exam room the technician goes over my information and states I am there for a mammogram. I corrected her and said a mammogram with ultrasound. She told me my insurance would not cover the ultrasound, and she could only do the mammogram. I told her I would self-pay it's not a problem. Then she tells me I do not need an ultrasound. Excuse me? If it's written on my script directly from my OBGYN, then yes, I do need it. Then I am told there is no doctor there so I wouldn't be able to get it anyway. That is a flat out lie! If there wasn't a radiologist there, then why do you sit in the waiting room after your exam to get your results? There was most certainly a radiologist there, but the technician was refusing to perform the ultrasound which was written by my physician. At that point, I gather up my things and walk out. She is not a physician and should NOT be giving medical advice! MY OBGYN faxed my script to Weinstein Imaging on 2/4/2025, 3 weeks before my appointment. That gave the office plenty of time to call me and let me know the ultrasound was not covered and ask if I wanted to proceed with the exam and self-pay. You do not assume anything when it comes to someone else's health.
