I like walmart because its close to home and i like to buy clothes and other stuff at walmart and there prices are not bad at all.

I've held my tongue on this for over a WEEK. Allowing my son Detronia Detroit Irby IV to proceed the way he was most COMFORTABLE!!! Yesterday was his LAST DAY at WALMARTS as he must return to COLLEGE this WEEK. So now he's READY!!! I guess we will call this WORKING at WALMARTS WHILE BLACK!!!..... On August 13, 2018 at 5;30 pm I clocked into work at Walmart. I I then realized that I left my box cutter needed for work in my car. I retrieved the box cutter from my car and was heading back into work, when I was approached by a Sterling Height Police Officer. He asked if he could speak with me, I said yes. He asked my name and I gave it to him. He then informed me that he had gotten complaints that I had been smoking weed in my car. I informed him that I did not smoke weed, but I had been smoking a black and mild cigar. He asked if he could search my car? I told him I would not consent to a search, but I would show him the black and mild cigar. We went to my car I showed him the black and mild cigar. He then proceeded to search me despite my verbally not consenting to a search. Another police car arrived, the officer told me to sit on the back of my car and proceeded to search the car despite me verbally not consenting to a search. He told me that the car was clean, it did not smell like weed and he would let them know. I have no idea who "them" were since he did not inform me who falsely reported me. They finally let me go. I recall hearing one of the cops say the car doesn't even smell like marijuana. I went into Walmarts to begin my shift. After composing myself I went to speak with the managers because I was confused as to why I was being harassed. The managers acted surprised and said they didn't know why, but that Walmart wouldn't call the police on its employees. I left and went back to work, about 15 minutes later an assistant manager came and spoke with me. He said that he was going to have Asset Protection speak with the Sterling Heights Police Department about harassing their employees and that this appeared to be a black thing. He left and then about an hour or so after a guy from Asset Protection came by and spoke with me Asked what happened, I explained everything to him. He asked if I thought it was an employee that called the police on me? I told him I didn't know who did it. At this point I simply could no longer focus on work. I felted humiliated and honestly didn't feel safe at this point, so I asked my manager if I could leave for the day and he said yes. Now thinking back to the week prior to this some things have really left feeling uneasy. My co-worker came to me and said they thought I had been arrested. When i asked her why she said because everyone knows you smoke weed and it's not that many black guys here. I then informed her that I didn't smoke week, she said well it's not that many black guys here so everyone thought it was you. I simply replied, back well it wasn't me and I don't smoke weed. The other incident involved a conversation with the support manager. The support manager told me if they rolled the tape and saw me smoking that I could get in trouble. I told him they could roll the tape and what they would see is that I was on my 15 minute break. I had been working for two hours and per Walmart rule that entitled me to a break and Yes I went to my car to smoke a black and mild cigar. I did so following Walmart policy of removing my vest, which would all show on the tape. They never answer their phones and when they do they hang up on your face because they obviously hate their job and don't wana talk it's very obvious because it happened a million times and not just to me. This place is garbage just like the employees who work their. read more

i like walmart they have good clothes that are low and their games are at good price and it's one of my favorite stores to go to

I visit this Walmart regularly. I decided to try the optical department for an exam for new contacts. I made an appointment for the next day which they called to remind me. The Dr. was very nice and helpful. They told me that due to a sale I could get a years supply ( normally my insurance only gets me 6 months) plus my insurance paid for the exam. So happy! I'll be back. read more

The customer service stinks at this store. I placed an order online and then I had to go out of town for business on a emergency. I called the store because I wanted to get my wife to pick the items up. The lady was not helpful at all. Said I had to go back to the website and add my wife. Went to the website and couldn't find anywhere how to add her so emailed Walmart for help. Didn't get a response until 24 hours later and when I did they told me I couldn't add my wife. I cancelled my order and will buy from there competitor. The price might be slightly higher but at least I won't have to deal with there incompetent employees. Think twice when placing that order from the site to store. read more

Walmart is one of my favorite stores, close and convenient to my home. Me and my family have been coming to this exact location for roughly 6 years. My mother is even friends with some of the workers And I have known a couple since I was younger. In the time we've been coming here not many problems have occurred, but I feel this one I need to share. My sister and I entered self check out for about 5 items and during the process of ringing them up a problem with the scanner happened. My sister approached the 2 workers, a younger and an older lady. When the notification on the screen appeared they continued to talk and not attend to the problem. My sister, trying to make it easier on the lady takes out her id and walks up to them. As she approached the workers who were talking and not paying attention to their job, my sister asked for assistance and the worker "Tanishea" (I'm not sure how she spells it) made a hand movement in her face with attitude and said "go away". I usually would just brush this off my shoulder but the disrespect this employee was displaying was a good way to represent Walmart! 5 starts for Walmart and 0 starts for her! read more

Typical Walmart. Plenty of people working, but the second you make eye contact with one of them, they scatter like roaches when the light turns on. Just for kicks and giggles, i went over to where they have their knives and ammo stored (locked behind a glass case). and I stood there for almost 15 minutes before an employee came by. He saw me standing there, empty handed, looking at the product behind a locked glass case, nodded, and kept walking. While trying not to laugh, i took a few steps after him, as I wanted to get his opinion on some of the ammo, and actually wanted to purchase a gerber knife they had on sale for real cheap (just to see if he would lie to me to try and make a sale about the ammo, or if he would be honest and admit he didnt know much about it)...but ill be damned if this guy didnt turn into the 280lb white version of Usain Bolt. in the 4 seconds he was out of my sight, he somehow managed to cover about 100 feet or so. and conveniently ducked into the TV/DVD/entertainment area when he noticed i was walking after him, clearly looking to speak with someone that worked there. Now, I could be all too mad that he dipped out on me like that, cuz lets face it. its a kid working at walmart, so hes prolly being paid about 9$ an hour...and i understand totally, i wouldnt do much, if any, work for a company like walmart that is well known to treating employees badly. For once, I will say, the store was nice and clean. Still smelled awful, like a mix of cardboard, bad cheese, and sweat...but if i had a sinus infection or something and couldnt smell, i would have said the store was really in great shape that day. read more
