this store has gone way down hill. too much dollar store junk. regular items not stocked. this is not a supply issue, rather an employee/management issue. employees dont care. self checkout is the only option most of the times, and there are lines. additionally, there is no place to put the items you already bagged. so you have to play the shuffle game. then, one of the 20 people standing around while YOU are doing the work wants to look at your receipt when done. The store is dirtly. cluttered. and way too many employees, a lot in yellow vests(mgmt) just standing around. i literally had 6 employees standing around the self checkout, while the customers waited in line. all of these employees standiing around, are costing the customers $$. employees wages /benefits do not come from management or corporate, it comes from charging the customers more. yesterday, i went in and there were NO bags. the entire store was out. seriously?! how does that happen? it happens because the personnel there are lazy and incompetent. Covid was an excuse to be out of items, but the supply chain is strong. the only excuse for not having something, especially bags, is because of incompetency. someone didnt inventory and reorder. this type of situation happens all the time at this store. everytime i go in with a list, at least one of the items im looking for isnt stocked on the shelf. i have sent mutltiple complaints to Corporate, and yet same problems. it wont take long before this is just another ghetto walmart that no one wants to go to. so sad for our once nice quaint little town. read more

Was there today looking for fabric. Found what I wanted, but didn't see a sales associate. I pushed the button that says someone will be right there. Nothing! As sales associates walked by I asked if they could help me. The answer was no. A kind associate who was visiting from another store got on the PA system asking for someone to go to fabrics. Still nothing. She did it twice. Another associate asked someone in the electronics department to call someone. Still nothing. After about 15 minutes I was leaving when I saw an associate walking my way. I asked if she was going to fabrics and she said no, but she could help me. She was very kind and helpful. Her name is Konner and I appreciate her willingness to help. You need more associates like her. read more

They never have anything that normal Walmart's have. For a "super center" they have nothing.

Not good doesn't even start to cover the experience. Ordered a wedding cake in January for a wedding in April. They lost the order but knew the name of who had ordered it. Had to put the cake together that morning then didn't come close to what was ordered. Have to say the gals in bakery did try. Would never recommend this place for something so special. This Walmart is for sure one of the worst Walmart ever if you try to call to get in touch with anyone or about your pick up, I would give -10 stars you have to wait for about 2 3 hours there. They never answer the phone they never can tell you anything all they can tell you is they're behind they're behind they're behind or they just leave whenever they feel like it and you don't even get your order you have to go back another day to pick up your order you try to call management they never do anything about it they don't put all your stuff in your baskets they don't get all your baskets like last time I went my baskets were all cold stuff so they just put it out the cooler and brought it out to me. I only had one thing that was warm and it got left behind so I tried to call to get a refund for a filter and if anybody knows how to Spencer filters are I couldn't get the refund because I didn't call right away which I did call right away but I was trying to go back to the store and pick it up the first couple days. Unfortunately, this is the only thing we have around but here soon target will be opening I can't wait. Nothing is if y'all are understaffed don't take as many orders and if y'all can't handle it and quit on pick up orders. Don't offer something you can't give. I don't know if they're going off commission or watt but I have literally sit here for days and watched them grab the smallest orders and walk them out not bring nothing else in their hands, but literally 1 to 3 items then why can't you take them items and set them on top of another order and bring out two or three orders at a time read more

There is no worse Walmart in the region (except perhaps the Skibo store that I haven't been to in ten years) than this location. Regardless of time of day or department, the isles are generally not stocked. Simultaneously, there are pallets and pallets of items stacked up, preventing movement around the store. As you make your way through the obstacle course of empty shelves and isles full of pallets, you find your path further blocked by order pickers hustling massive carts of product. Finally, you find yourself at a self-service kiosk that invariably needs some sort of override; Good luck finding an attendant. Further, the store is usually trashed with debris. The parking lot is always a mess with random carts, trash and traffic is abhorrent. As frustrating as the traffic is, the security vehicles actually make the issue worse and can generally be found preventing movement through the lot. read more

Unlike all the older/1 star reviews.. I got nothing but good things to say about Walmart in Aberdeen/Southern Pines, NC. The pharmacy for instance has always been quick, between 10-15 minutes the last half dozen or so times I had to pick up our meds. Totally understand during Covid being short on things, but overall, they did the best job they could do. Now everything is pretty well stocked up, and their prices are very good overall. (too bad they don't have a price match though is about the only negative thing I could say about them). I rarely find things I need elsewhere that are less expensive, however it would enhance the customer experience. I rarely see lines other than Christmas time where many people were returning things, and the lines go quickly, and the customer service not only at the returns but the cashiers and in the other departments including at the exits who rarely check receipts for purchases. Had to give them a 5 stars, as my experience has always been exceptional. One other major issue I like with this Walmart in particular is that they allow RV's to park in the lot overnight, while many other Walmarts across the country are moving away from that policy. My favorite store in the area, and we spend a lot there!.. THANKS! read more

If you plan on doing preorder and pickup for your groceries to save time forget about it. Average delay is 30-45 mins AFTER what you select for pickup time. Today it was over an hour late..When this happened previously I thought maybe it's an off day as it happens.... I was incorrect as it seems to be the standard at this location. Today I was supposed to pick up at 3pm, it's now almost 4:30 and I just received my groceries. I've done pickup many times before at various other stores, and every time I have received my order in the time selected online. This store being the exception. The entire point of this feature is so people on a tight schedule can do their shopping online and pick it up. This store never has the roper amount of cashiers. Middle of the day busy and only 2 registers open. They rely on self check out to get people through but if you have a large purchase you frozen food will thaw out before u can checked out. Bunch of people in yellow vests walking around but don't do anything to help the situation. They should be able to read the environment and facilitate customers getting through. read more

I bought groceries online 3 times and the 1st time was great and fast, but the 2nd & 3rd was a nightmare. We waited for 45 mins the 2nd time and much longer the 3rd time. The 3rd time we saw cars come and go but not one associate ask us about our groceries! That time I was going to leave but went in to speak to a manager. I waited another 15 minutes. I explained to him what had happened and he said he would take care of it. They finally brought our groceries out then the card machine would not work....so another 20 minutes!! So we were at Walmart in the parking lot for 1 1/2 hours easy, which should have been a 10-15 minute wait!! I have no intentions of online shopping ever with this Walmart ever again!!! read more

I tried calling to check if something was in stock because on the app it said "limited stock" and before driving an hour wanted to quickly check since we have been to this walmart before when it said IN STOCK and the item was NOT. On hold for ever and was told it's busy" we can't just go check , then someone said "let me find someone", transferred me five times . Absolutely maddening. When reaching for a basket, I was yelled at by say "Madam, I need to give this to you" (for the virus situation) and was quite embarrassed and stepped back to wait. This is a very pointed review of the meat department. For the second time in two weeks and the fourth since moving to Pinehurst six months ago we purchased and brought home RANCID, ROTTEN meat. Today my wife purchased a 8 lbs pork shoulder butt boneless with a use by date of 27 January, today is 26 January. The instant I cut open the package the smell of rotten meat came out. This has got to be the worst WalMart ever, the store has an overall appearance of just being junky. ALWAYS extremely low on stock or many things out of stock and choices are minimal, unlike other WalMarts. If not that, many - many items have expired expiration dates. The produce is NEVER fresh, it's always moldy or wilted. We have started driving the longer distance and now shop at the Walmart in Spring Lake. Many more choices, shelves are well stocked, fresh produce and a nice neat clean appearance. This walmart does have a lot of stuff but the lines are always the longest. The aisles are also very tall so there is a sense of being overwhelmed and there is no way to reach the top to get products. There are also camera things that bing every time someone walks into the makeup area aisles and it gets irritating. read more

I was thinking maybe 4 and a half stars, but Walmart has been getting a lot of bad publicity lately which I don't think they deserve so I'm giving then the full five stars. Yes, they lean hard on their suppliers, but here in Aberdeen they pay better than average and have had a good employee stock purchase plan. I feel their meat department is their main weakness. The quality and prices there are not very competitive. But I just buy my meat elsewhere. The deli I don't use much either. I think other stores run more specials or sales than Walmart does, especially on perishable items. Personally, I find that their 24/7 hours are invaluable if I need something at an inconvenient time. I'm starting to use their tire service more. I still use their oil service even though they have raised their prices. I like their condiment selection; their drink prices; their prices on watches, clothes, and candy. They also have a good tie-in with the web so you can order unusual items from walmart.com and have them shipped to store. Their return department is excellent. The managers are very good. Just an all-around great store in my opinion. Oh, and they also used to donate money to the community and probably still do. I remember they helped our scout troop attend scout camp for a couple of years. I don't love Walmart per se, but I would be very upset if they ever closed. When we need something and are not sure where to get it, we usually head to Walmart first. read more

We don't live in this town but were there because of. My sons doctor appointment. He had an accident and we had to go and buy clothes for him and stopped here. While the store was clean and orderly, when it came to check out...that was a different story. We went to the 20 or less line and were third in line. When the couple in front of us was next, the cashier shut her light off and walked off. Not saying a word to any of us in line. There were 4 more people behind us. The absolute worst store I've ever been in. I used the register with the credit or debit only feature. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to ask for cash back when it asked me if I wanted cash back. My request for 20 bucks prompted the need for an associate to help me. Well, Shaquana, spelling could be wrong, started to berate me for asking for cash back. Shaquana? IT asked me if I wanted cash back! Shaquana then tells me I'm supposed to say no. How would I know that I'm supposed to say no? After listening to Shaquana going on and on for 15 minutes at her special podium, I asked her if she could just cancel it. No says Shaquana, we need someone with a key and a lot of people aren't available because it's snowing in North Carolina. Finally, a person with a key shows up and Shaquana says open this damn register so I can get HER OUT THE STORE. Hello? Who do you want OUT THE STORE? Me? Are you referring to me, Shaquana? Shaquana wants to fight me after her shift ends. Not a good idea, Shaquana. I don't think you fully grasp PTSD, because if you did, you'd realize that's a battle you'll never win. Be careful! I had a cashier claim i didnt hand her the momey which was a $100. When I handed it to her she asked for me to go get another pair of shorts that had a tag on it cuz the one I had didn't have one. When i returned with them she told me to total and when i said i gave it to you already she was very very convincing when telling me "no ma'am you did not. did you drop it as u were getting another pair of shorts?. She was so good that I honestly started thinking maybe I had dropped it. I asked to see the footage so i could have peace of mind that i had indeed been the one to lose it. Moments later she returned with my money saying an employee found it. It was still rolled up from where the cashier tried to hide it. The truly worrisome part is the mamager knew the cashier took it and instead of apologizing she took up for the cashier saying another employee had found it on the floor where i had dropped it. A week later and I'm still shocked that the cashier tried to steal it from me and that the manager tried to cover it up. It is truly unbelievable at the gaul these people had. If I could give zero stars I would. I dread shopping here anyway with the crowds, but the prices can be so cheap compared to other stores. But now I will probably never go back if only because of my last experience. I was innocently trying to put my groceries away, when an employee that was out collecting carts walked up without a word and just stood not a foot away from my car, touching my cart, hovering RIGHT OVER MY PURSE. And if he had made small talk or said "hey I can get your cart when your done" it would have been OK, maybe a little annoying but OK. No, no he did not say anything at all, he literally just stood inappropriately close to my personal space and my vehicle, staring at me while I put my groceries away. Who does that?! It was so creepy. I'm a young, lone, female in my twenties, its not like I'm a linebacker. I was beginning to fear for my safety. Never, I repeat NEVER should an employee make a customer fear for his or her safety. Even beyond the fact that this employee was creeping me out, it was incredibly rude of him to rush me like that. I finally just dragged everything out of the cart and gave it to him just to make him leave me alone and stop harassing me. I could put up with the other stuff about shopping at wal mart, the lines, the random gross stuff people leave in the store, even grumpy cashiers, but this went over the line. I refuse to shop in a place where I don't feel safe in the parking lot, where employees can just harass customers.
