I'm going with four stars because it's a Walmart Super Center, carrying a Super Center sized variety of products, just miles from two extremely expensive ski resort towns. I get it, most people have a dislike for Walmart, and I mostly don't shop them, but when you're visiting Vail, realize you forgot an Apple Watch charger, and you can get one by driving eight minutes, well that's awesome. You can also get ten million other random things a massive super center tends to stock. I will say that their covid-related signage stinks. The entire non-grocery side of the building's front entrance is locked, yet there's no signage for this. So, I park on that side knowing I was intending to go in that side, it's 18 degrees out, and I find those doors are locked so instead I have to walk the width of the parking lot to go to the other side. read more

Mannie in automotive was awesom. I woke to a flat and was late for work. even though Walmart couldn't do sh!$, Mannie helped me the best he could and got me fixed up ASAP and omw. and saved the day. What a ginormous and wonderful Walmart! I rarely shop at Walmart, but I'm glad I stopped at this one. I came for water and left with two gallons of fresh filtered water straight from a spigot. Success! Also picked up a kombucha and a deodorant here (the essentials). You'll get your steps in here too, that's for sure! A workout and a shopping trip all in one. We needed to get some condiments and other things we didn't want bulk size at Costco and decided to come to this Walmart which was close to our Airbnb. Parking is extremely easy and this Supercenter was very nice actually! Everything was organized, and employees were helpful when we needed to find specific stuff (cream cheese). Absolutely the worst customer service of all time at any Walmart. that's saying a lot after I have dealt with tons of ridiculously dumb Walmarts in Chicagoland. Not one associate would bag up the $300+ in groceries i was checking out with. They sold me a broken/cracked TV. I went to do the return they "weren't able to do returns at this time". The associate/manager kept calling me "dude" and "bro" .... Daja I don't know you! I approached several associates asking if they had, or knew where an item was. Two times the associate told me, he/she/ them did not speak English. The third time the associate was on her phone talking to somebody and just waved me away and wouldn't pause her phone call to speak with me. There was a lady in front of me who's groceries were 150 and she gave the man 200 dollars in cash the man still wanted her to pay with her credit card after receiving the 200 dollars and the man just stood there silently for like 5 minutes so after a while he goes and gets another guy from the return section because the the guy didn't speak english and that guy didn't even speak and still wanted her to swipe her credit card so then the lady got mad and asked for her money back and left and she left the groceries so she didn't steal. Honestly this place is a shit show. I ordered an online order. Received notification it was ready and went to pick it up. I had placed two orders and received the one order (only one item). I said I had a second order and the associate went back inside. He came out and told me the order had been lost and it would be ready in 5 minutes. Fifteen minutes later I had not received the order and went inside. The associate said the person who was getting the order was new and it was taking longer. I asked to speak to a manager and he said there was not one. We saw an asset protection coach and he said he was a manager. I explained what happened to my order and he said he's help. Ten minutes later (now 35 minutes after I arrived) my order was ready. I asked to speak to a manager and after waiting 10 minutes gave up. I lost 45 minutes of my vacation due to the incompetence of staff at this store. If a manager reads this I would appreciate you following up with me. If you are a customer good luck with online orders. Don't expect to be in and out quickly. read more

It's humorous because almost no clerks or people working on the floor speak English. They literally get out their phone and have the phone translate what you say and then they try to assist after the translation. I suppose this is staff you get when you live near communities with 25 million dollar houses (Beaver Creek & Vail)? They are helpful, though, once you get through the communication barrier; they point or take you to the location of the product. The store has a pretty wide array of goods, including groceries so it's convenient. It would be easy to criticize Walmart for hiring people who speak Mandarin, Spanish and other languages and are supposedly there to help shoppers, but what's the solution? It's great that the clerks and stockers have jobs, it's great that customers have good groceries and other items at a reasonable cost. But one needs to be patient and slow down when communicating with the staff at this Walmart. read more

A huge shout out to Eddie and his team in the auto shop. We had a flat tire near Vail, brought the car in on the donut to see if the tire was replaceable. Unfortunately it wasn't, but Eddy was kind enough to let us stay in the break room to make several phone calls to find the tire (that we now know is in high demand). Before heading out, and near closing time, him and his team rotated the tires so the spare was on the rear so we'd be safer making the 100 mile trek back to Denver. Thank you, Eddie!!! read more

I suppose this is because its a fucking Walmart? They sell cheap shit to broke-ass folks like me. They have a pharmacy; I thoroughly enjoy purchasing my blood pressure medication here. I also buy my video games and ammunition at this location. The Avon Walmart is a wonderful place to exchange currency for items you may use around the house such as a scented candle or even a 13x9 cake pan in your choice of sheet metal or Pyrex™. I have found that smoking a little weed before going here makes it infinitely more enjoyable. Sometimes I like to hang out in the lingerie section and think sexy thoughts. One fall, a buddy of mine got a clown mask here. A bunch of us went camping that weekend and did mushrooms and the mask was truly horrifying. The sneering visage of Pukey the Clown silently judging me in the firelight will forever haunt me. I do not recommend the produce section or the deli here. Additionally, the faucets in the bathroom sinks are the stingiest, most diabolic devices I have ever seen-- they act like you only need 15 ml of water to wash your hands, which is patently not true at all. read more

Took my car to have tires put on and the other stuff, oil change, fluids etc. very impressed with the price and the speed of service. Other shops in the Valley are very expensive compaired to wall mart. Also you might get a take it or leave is attitude. I have had some not so good shopping experiences at this wall mart, but what can you say it's wall mart, not like shopping at a high end store, it's wall mart. However I would say that the auto department is doing just fine and I will bring my car back for the basics like oil, tires etc. I think that is all the work they do on cars so it might be kinda hard to mess up. read more

It's pretty hard to find things in Avon so it usually means a trip to Walmart. I try to avoid Walmart and never understand why they have so many check out lanes which are mostly closed. Walmart to me means lines of people waiting- sort of like the Post Office. A lot of the employees will say they don't have a specific item, and, if I ask them to check, they act like they don't understand me. I'll pull the item up on my phone and that might get them helping, or I might have to find someone else and try again. Tons of parking. read more

AHHH. I am so torn about this review. Why? Well because morally/ethically I am against some of the stuff Walmart tries to do. BUT on the other hand, they do have low cost things at low prices... which is pretty much how I roll. It's much cheaper than going to China to buy it, that's for sure. Some things that are nice: McDonalds inside... because you can't have high class without another high class industry inside of it. A full stocked pantry of veggies, fruits, and meats... And they are edible. A car center... which is VERY well stocked. Sometthings I did not like: overpriced crappy manicures... and the lack of stylus selections in the electronics department. Make that the lack of knowledge of what a stylus is... Also, they sold my dad a shirt with Popeye on it that said, "I am what I am.." and they didn't have more than one pair of jeans in his size. Wallmart, well who would of thought that this place is a great place for tires. I have shopped many big chain store for tires in the past and had little to no success getting good service or a good price or people trying to sell you something you just do not need. Well at wallmart my expeirence was straight forward. No one trying to sell you something that your car does not need, the tire selection was very good and the prices are better than the other big chain stores. The people working where nice and helpful, the time my car was in the shop was quick and thee price for balance, tire price for getting rid of my old tire was good. If I could give zero stars I would. Let's start with the fact that in general Walmart is an evil organization, benefiting both from government subsidization as well as global slave labor. This store reminded me that it views me as worthless as its slave pool on several occasions, despite the fact that I make the purchasing decisions for three house holds and (had) a consumer lifetime value worth tens of thousands into hundreds of thousands of dollars. I purchase all the groceries on behalf of my grandma and she asked me to go in tonight on a special quest. I lost my list somehow in the parking lot on the way into the store and took 20 minutes looking for it. I couldn't find it so I SPED shopped from memory in the remaining 40 minutes. I wanted to be sensitive of time so I was checking out before the store made the announcement that it was closing early at 10 (should be 24 hours still... we all know Walmart is just using Covid as an excuse to not be open). To my horror, I realized I forgot one thing that was very important. It was the only thing I needed to grab and I had already finished checking out. I asked the nearby clerk at the self checkout if I could grab it as there were plenty of other people still checking out but no one waiting for my machine. He asked if I knew where it was and If it was close and I told him it was in bath but that I could run and get it ASAP. He said that was fine... and it would have been if the manager Johnathan hadn't been a huge embarrassing jerk. I speed walked super fast down to the home goods section when suddenly I heard a voice screaming after me that "the store was closed and my transaction would be voided if I didn't immediately return." I was horrified that this was being screamed after me after I had asked permission, spent so much money at Walmart that night not to mention over my lifetime, and it was done as if the manager was use to if not ENJOYED telling women everyday that he would throw them out if they didn't immediately obey. What should have been a dopamine fueled experience of getting everything I needed for my family became one in which my hope, dreams, and feelings were shitted on. After a few more screams that he would delete my transaction I returned to my purchase out of desperation... but I seriously only needed another 50 seconds to grab what I needed. While checking out I explained my problem to Johnathan and asked him to grab what I needed, and to his credit he reluctantly accommodated and grabbed me a shower rod... but due to product description issues and lack of hustle (he had short legs) this process took another 5-10 minutes while I watched employees and shoppers continue to check out the entire time. I still left with a product I'm not completely happy with but bought to be nice and out of desperation. I honestly just wish Jonathan had left me alone to grab the item and return in one minute instead of screaming after me that he would void my transaction and literally throw me out of the store in front of everyone there. If you hate your costumers so much, you shouldn't have any, and you shouldn't manage employees either. This horrible experience is just one more reminder why I will not be shopping at Walmart anymore unless I am absolutely required to by a client. I spent the whole drive home crying at the state of the world and how little I must matter to Johnathan. Women maybe dumb Karen's sometimes, but we are also under an immense amount of pressure and spend 80% or more of the household money ... please don't underestimate us like society has for thousands of years. Don't be a Johnathan. Please dont let Johnathan talk to me if I ever return (which is unlikely), and maybe you should remove Johnathan from the store. One minute of Jonathan's time is worth more than the hour and a half it told me to drive out of the mountains to Walmart and the 60 minutes I took to shop? Leave me alone. Probably one of my top three worst shopping experiences. Two or so months ago I went in and bought everything to make one of the dress patterns they offered, including a zipper. Fast forward to last night when I tried to install said zipper and realized I didn't have a zipper foot. I went back to Walmart to find one. They didn't have any and never had or will have them in the future. This was disappointing in itself (why sell zippers if you can't use them) but the customer service and quality of the store was horrendous. They are going through renovations, which I understand, but the amount of merchandise in the aisles on the floor was so bad that I ended up stacking trash cans to create enough aisle room for carts to move through. The lady who "helped" me was the opposite of helpful. She said "well I guess if you don't see any, we don't have any" and then after I began checking my phone to show her that they should, she pulled her personal phone out to do the exact same thing I was already doing. As someone who worked at a Target and saw the device on her belt, I know that she could have searched her store's stock for a zipper foot or asked someone who had permissions to do so. Instead, I gave up on her and walked the entire store looking for what their website claimed to have in store, in stock. I ended up empty handed and annoyed that I cannot just stop going to this Walmart without driving for two hours. read more

At any given time in this awful store, you can find at least 12 employees standing around not doing anything at all... however, there are never enough cashiers and there is never enough customer service at the customer service line. I've been standing here for 10 minutes so I called the store and spoke with the assistant manager he literally didn't care. This is the absolute worst walmart I have ever been to. Employees jnow nothing and no one is ever around. After going to college in Arkansas where walmart is the king of everything- I strongly believe executives need to focus on wallys around the country instead of just back in the home of the company.
