Walmart Auto Center on Madison Street is the WORST! The customer service SUCKS and the service SUCKS! I had an appointment made two weeks prior to get tires installed, My appointment was for 9:00 am.....my car wasn't ready until 12:30 pm, WHY IN THE HELL DID I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT????? I watched this so called "tech" take five damn breaks drinking a damn red bull each time like he was sipping a starbucks...no sense of urgency. This is directed for the automotive department. We were in need of a new rear passenger tire, decided to check and see if they were in stock because we were getting two new tires and keeping the better one as a spare. They indeed had them and at a great price. Got there at about 11:30, a gentleman checked us in and was very detailed and had said the wait would most likely be an hour before they could work on. Not a problem at all. Walked around quite a bit, sat down and ate some lunch. Decided to walk back to the lot and the car was still sitting where we had parked it and this was at 1:45ish. We then decided to wait in the customer area by the outdoor bay. 2:30pm hit and still hadn't brought the car into the bay, all the while the manager (John C.) had a lazy attitude with at least 4-5 employees laughing and joking and for a while, whilst 2 guys were working non stop and even one employee coming in to ask for assistance when the line started to get back up . The manager was completely ignorant to the fact that we were there and we felt completely ignored. He walked by at least a dozen times. We understood that people had appointments but the lack of working with a purpose just wasn't there as a whole. We asked the service representative at the desk and she had just stated that "they're working on it". Not one person said they were sorry for such a long wait, nor giving an update when we had asked. We're both patient people and this hit differently just because of the manipulative incompetence that stemmed from the manager. Ok. I went to the Walmart to pick up some stuff. I put on regular pants, and shoes...still not comfortable with pajama pants and fuzzy slippers yet...and traveled over to get a few groceries and maybe hit up some after Christmas sales. I hate Christmas, but since I am retired now, I look for silly reasons to feel like I am accomplishing something. I thought early morning, mid-week, people gotta work; it should be in and out. Nope. I didn't know that I needed training to survive the adventure. I mean, it is always a bit of an adventure navigating through the door and past the first couple of aisles due to the volume of people that need to some stuff too...but I did not anticipate the number of "order pullers" and "stockers" that I would encounter. I had no idea, but I want to get into the training program they attend. I would like to get the grandkids in too, I feel certain they would live with some survival skills I have yet to acquire in my years as a shopper. First, Let me say I can be pretty good at not making eye contact at a traffic light to keep from letting people in front of me, let's say 7 outta 10 times; especially if I am late; but to totally ignore all foot traffic and cruise up to, and through the crowds, was impressive. Doing this without acknowledging that I was there as they jumped in front of me (on every aisle) while I reached for some corn flakes or ketchup, even circling me like I was the enemy...with heads down and eyes forward with a fire I cannot comprehend...wow. This is a skill I do not have for that environment. The class on opening a door in the refrigerated section that you are moving towards, all with a total indifference for your fellow human beings...is this the same one that they give to politicians who want to ignore our wishes? Either way, it feels like it takes a special student to get the timing down without causing a collision...but how long are you supposed to stand there sorting through your cart and bags while scanning? Just curious; is there a time limit you are shown before you allow the other customers to access products? Then, they must have cart driving as optional. On the interstate, parking in the middle of the road will get you crushed. Hold up, on second thought, when you have been outfitted with an aluminum war wagon, this has to be a different training course. "Just go where you want and damn the torpedoes" feels like a 200 level course. Am I accurate? I haven't seen the requirements for a degree in order puller, but am looking. For the record I was overcome and had lost. I tried to navigate in secrecy along the back walls because my nerves were shot...and I had picked up a broom to use as a weapon already...only to be chased by pallet jack after pallet jack - I guess their strategy is to circle the masses? And they say Napoleon was a great strategist. Anyway...I eventually made it through the maze with only a few flesh wounds finding myself in the Christmas clearance section. I hid there for what felt like hours, afraid to run the gauntlet from the outdoor section...between the toys and health products...y'all know what I mean...placed the broom (and now a garbage can lid as a shield) in front of me and charged! Finally making it to the self-checkout section. SELF-CHECKOUT, where I am the employee for a few seconds...had more closed than open! SELF-CHECKOUT where you don't even pay to have but one person employed....one...and I was waiting for one of the registers to allow me to work for my food and wrapping paper!!!! I have never stood with a sign that says I will work for food, and don't remember bringing one in on this day either, but I just wanted my flour, cornflakes, ketchup and santa paper in my truck; so I complied. As I headed to the door I discarded the broom and shield (lid); because I was not about to slow down and be tackled by someone's grandpa because I had not declared my weapons...they were not on the receipt. I was out of confrontational head space. EXTRA COMMENT: To the poor lady who I am certain has since been fired for this behavior; thank you for smiling from behind your vehicle of destruction and saying excuse me. Thank you for showing me human decency and allowing me 2.7 seconds to grab some flour...before charging forward. I didn't report this, but I am sure your training (based on all else I saw) does not allow for this lackadaisical approach to pulling for customers. A review. I had the huge misfortune working with Amelia in their electronics ATT department last night. She seemed sweet at first, but that was before I discovered how many lies she would tell you to meet her commission. And let me tell you it's a lot of them. From lying about the specs of the iPhone 16 pro, claiming that it doesn't come in GB above 128 to lying about not being able to refund the apple care, to lying about not being able to get my old phone turned back on, to lying about not being able to return it within 24 hours of the purchase. She lied through her teeth the entire purchase, and royally screwed up the service. I asked her about 5 different times if the pro comes in GB above 128. She insisted it didn't. And that if I wanted more I had to get the 16 pro max. This is a lie. Just because Walmart doesn't carry anything above 128, does not mean it doesn't exist. Just because Walmart doesn't refund Apple Care, doesn't mean Apple won't refund you. All she had to do was be honest ONCE. And she failed over and over and over again. Anyways don't buy from her. I recently moved to the area and this is by far the WORST Walmart I have ever stepped foot into. The employees block aisles and will not move over for customers. As well, I have had employees on 3 separate occasions be more than disrespectful and have severe attitude towards me. My partner and I often go to this location to buy groceries, at times my partner buys alcohol. The employees will not sell him alcohol with the groceries HE IS PAYING FOR, solely because I am standing with him and don't have my ID on me. Not only that but every time have been given dirty looks and sassy side comments that included, "white people are crazy" I am disgusted!! Eventually after speaking with the manager my partner was able to purchase. This is not at all acceptable. read more

If you want to park in handicapped spots at Sango Walmart, just go right ahead. I reported someone illegally parked yesterday and no one cared. The guy at the entrance just looked at me as if he didn't speak English. As a disabled vet I had walk from the far end of the lot to park while some fat chain smoking woman sat parked backwards in a handicapped spot with no tag, no license plate and admitted she was NOT handicapped. If I die and go to hell I'll be in Walmart. All Walmart's are basically one big WTF nightmare, but this place has been getting worse. Every time I leave here I feel like years of my life have been sucked away. Thank God for the self-check out lines, which have seemed to speed up the cluster you-know-what that takes place here all day, every day. I don't even care if you come here in your pajama pants and slippers, just move with some sort of purpose. People wander around in here like it's the day of the dead and they have nowhere else to go. Side piece of advice that is applicable anywhere: if you want to move past someone, but said person is unintentionally blocking your way (maybe they are looking at an item in a shelf), say "excuse me." Please stop standing there with your cart staring blankly at the person shopping. ‍ On a positive note, The greeter Bob is one of the nicest people you'll meet. I just retuned from the tire shop at the Maddison Ave store. I had a small tire for a wheelbarrow I was asking to have air put in. I'm a disabled veteran, I was wearing my service cap and walking with a cane. I asked the young man outside for assistance and he told me to ask one of the people in the service bay. I just walked a step inside to ask for assistance, I know your not supposed to walk into a service area, I just asked a man for assistance and he snapped at me "get out of here, no one's allowed in here", I told him the gentleman outside just told me to come in here and ask for assistance I wasn't 18 inches inside the doorway he just snapped at me again, and said he was too busy in a real snarky tone, and just completely dismissed me. I've never been so disrespected at a retail establishment in my life. His attitude was completely unacceptable. I have been in retail for 34 years and have 127 employees of my own. I would never accept that behavior from one of them to one of our valued customers. So whoever the manager is at the Madison St., Walmart you need to give Mr. JEREMY at the tire center a little one on one customer service training. How to get treated like a criminal........walk into this particular Wal Mart and be any color other than white. My husband is a proud American who's ethnicity is 50% Mexican and 50% Native American. He's skin is a beautiful shade of dark brown and because he is muscular he is often mistaken for Samoan. I am as white as a person can be. Why does this matter? Today we were in Wal Mart shopping. I forgot to buy something so I went back to buy it and my husband headed out to meet me at our car. He was asked for his receipt. He politely declined, citing his 4th amendment right against illegal search and seizure. This interaction should have ended there. But instead they call management, management gets ridiculously hifey, calls the police. At this point everyone is probably saying why are you saying this is racial? Just comply and it's all good??? Because every single staff member involved in this was white. Because the next three people that came through to leave the store were white and they were not asked for their receipts. Then I, my husbands very white wife, came through to leave the store and no one asked me for my receipt either. The look on the face of the manager when he saw me approach my husband and realized that this white woman was with this brown man was priceless. My husband looked the manager dead in the eye and asked him, "Don't you want to ask my wife for her receipt too? Oh, you don't? Why not?" Manager told us we had to wait for the police. As we left I explained to this soul the facts of the 4th amendment as well as unlawful detainment. I advised him that we would not be waiting but he was welcome to follow us out to our car, take down our license plate, and turn it into the police if he so desired to do so. Then we left. We have nothing but love for Tennessee and want to make it very clear that we have been coming too Tennessee for years and this was our first racist encounter. This Walmart had the best, most natural customer service I have experienced in a long time, and even longer at a Walmart store! After an 18 hour drive from Ft Lauderdale FL to Clarksville TN to visit family, we stopped in to get the stuff people usually forget and were helped by Ms. Betty in the dressing rooms and James in the aisles. We asked him for general directions as he was high atop a ladder stocking the shelves and we were expecting him to point somewhere in the store...how astonished were we when he cheerfully climbed down from the ladder and walked us to the very item we needed...were we in Target? This is the cleanest, friendliest Walmart I have ever seen. If you are looking for something specific, there are actually employees who will ask if they can help you find anything. It's quite a change from the usual Walmart experience. With the exception of a few, the cashiers are very friendly as well. Most of them smile, say hello etc...I like this place and I'm not usually a fan of Walmart. *A special note* I've seen many people come in and out and completely ignore the door greeters. I'm not sure why some say people are friendly at Walmart. Maybe I just go on the wrong day I don't know. I do have to say they are friendly back in automotive. And the other ones that are friendly and ask if you need any help finding anything they must have just started there. Even the management will walk right past you and not even speak. I made it a point the other day in fact to say to my husband as an employee was walking right by us I said "Well I guess they don't carry it at all" Do you think that employee even asked if they could help us find something? Nope they just looked at us and smiled and kept walking. Either they we're death or just don't care to help people and I know they weren't death cause when we were leaving they were standing talking to another employee about another employee. Of the three Walmarts in Clarksville, this one is definitely the nicest. It's clean, greeters are very pleasant and genuine. Customer service is not particularly professional since one person cursed while having a conversation with a co-worker while handling my return (the conversation had nothing to do with me). It was a little awkward and I was a little taken aback. As with all Walmarts there never seems to be enough registers open but after coming here several times over the years I see several familiar faces and I know they are moving the lines along the best they can. On that note, it seems the turnover rate is pretty low at this Walmart since I've seen the same people throughout. I was thrilled to pieces when they finally got a self-checkout section! My groceries were never delivered, I was told I could not come get them even though the order had been filled my credit card had been charged and the best that could be done was to have them delivered in the morning. The staff here is very helpful. I walk with a cane and I have to use one of those mobile shopping carts. The battery died in the middle of my shopping and associate immediately assisted me. She went to the front of the store and got me another one. That's great service!!!! read more

This is the only Wal-Mart I have ever been to that makes you stand or sit out with your car until the preceding cars are finished. All other Wal-Mart's hand you a slip and let you go in and shop. Really poor customer service. Pharmacy department stated they had not received my doctors rx. Upon my assertion that he sent it an hour ago they relented and told me my prescription would be ready in 30 minutes. A couple of hours later I went in to pick up the script and was told they had not received it from the doctor. I again checked with my doc and was told it had been sent. The store is clean and friendly; however, this is the 2nd time using the tire and lube service. They are extremely slow and very unprofessional. The 1st time was 3 months ago 3 hours for an oil change. Today several hours and I was 3rd in line, for 2 tires and an oil change. This location has always felt a little hostile to me though. The people in the parking lot running over you, the people in the store almost running into you, the employee that acts like he is being bothered when you ask where an item is, the rude cashiers that don't even speak at all..
