When I took the plastic wrap off of my container, I could smell that the food was old. It's that scent of warmer lights and old oil. I still took a bite and the chicken was indeed old. The wedges were old as well. They were hard and chewy on the outside. The cornbread was as hard as a brick. I didn't even bother to open the package. My son and his dad enjoyed their food. They got subs and chicken strips. Publix usually doesn't have nasty food. I probably just caught them on a bad day. I will still go back.

The location wasn't hard to find using GPS. Look out for a yellow red and green building. We initially intended to dine in, but decided to take our food to go instead. Although the kitchen area and register were well lit, the dining area was pretty dark and the restaurant was very quiet. Although there were two other people dining in, it felt sort of awkward. They said the food was really good though, so I took that as a good sign. We took recommendations from one of the employees. He suggested the Beef Egusi and the Peanut Soup with fish. We also added on some chicken patties and Jolof rice too. My favorite things were the patty, the Jolof rice, and the Egusi. That was my first time having Egusi and the flavors were phenomenal. I loved the blends of spices and The Fufu was freshly made too. I wasn't a big fan of the peanut butter soup, but sometimes I have a hard time with savory peanut dishes so I think it was just me. Overall, this place gets a big YES from me. The flavors are authentic, the staff is friendly and the food is worth a drive. I would've given 5 stars if the inside was more welcoming.

Otherwise, it is an efficient place to go in, get what you want and get out, unlike the huge grocery big box stores that have everything under the sun. One area where this location could save money and possibly reduce prices is by eliminating the "Death Row for Plants". Plant materials are placed outside to dehydrate and fry in the sun. The plants placed inside are not cared for either. We have brought the situation to the attention of the store manager (repeatedly) personally and he wasn't at all interested. Other workers said that they were told not to water the plants. We notified Lidl corporate. They had the correct response, but no action has been taken. When the plants arrive, they are beautiful and high quality but it doesn't take long for the lack of water to destroy the plants and reduce their value to zero. The plant prices are not marked, so most people just walk past and the stock just sits there to cook in the sun. I deducted one star because of the lack of customer service and short staffing the checkouts. I don't think that the employees receive any customer service training. I also deducted one star because of the wasted resources (plants) that have the potential to increase prices
