06/06/2026 I had to go searching for a certain type of bulb for my kitchen, so I decided to run into Walmart, and thank goodness they had them! My first spot to look at was Lowe's, which was out of stock. Glad I found them. This store location was packed as usual, but I was able to get in and out quickly. This is a pretty good Walmart. For the standards of Walmart, it's pretty clean, and not quite as hectic as most other locations are. It also seems to be pretty well organized, which not all Walmarts are. What I did not like about this location was the absolute lack of human cashiers, which caused one of the longest lines that I've ever seen at a retail store. I understand that self-checkouts are the way of the world now, but they should have at least opened up 2-3 registers for the sake of everybody there. I didn't end up purchasing anything, as there was no way that I was going to wait in that monstrosity of a line. In the future, I may consider going back at a slower time of the day, as it's definitely an above-average Walmart, but the length of that checkout line was kind of off-putting. read more

Aside from Ms. Brenda, the Greeter, this location needs some help with customer accommodations. Why would they have the produce baggie dispenser affixed above the top shelf of the leafy vegetables? I had to stand on my tippy toes to grab a baggie, so imagine someone shorter than 5'7 & moreover someone with accessibility needs. I asked the employee next to me who was tidying up the displays about the positioning & she stated "I just work here"...good job young lady representing Wally World & individuals that need assistance. Of course she didn't have her name badge on nor would share her name. I'll be back for a football game & will stop by to see if its still in the same position. You already know the usual complaints about Walmart- long lines, only a few registers, etc. But, this location often has empty shelves! For about 3 weeks the frozen vegetable section was completely empty. I've never experienced this at any grocery store before. I was so confused, how do you just leave essentially an entire aisle empty for so long? I try really hard not to go until I have a long list of things to buy so I don't waste time. My one bright spot about this location is the online grocery pickup. It saves me so much time and probably money because I don't pickup extra things off the shelves. The workers who bring out the food are alway nice and try hard to make the order right if something is wrong. I recently bought pie crusts that were broken when I got them, but it was easy to report it on the Walmart app and get a refund. read more

Why can't I get into the garden center? Stopped by yesterday at 7AM, today at 8AM (this location opens at 6AM) - and both days, interior entrance doors from store to garden center have been locked with all lights off in garden center. I'm not talking about the exterior entrance - those doors have been locked since start of pandemic, totally get that. I asked the guy up front (I'm aware the door greeter probably isn't the most informed employee - but to be fair the customer service counter was ALSO closed and I couldn't find a single employee on the sales floor besides the 2 backed up cashiers) when I could get into the garden center and he told me to "check back later. Still the worst. Waited nearly 30 minutes to get my grocery order. Had issues with the app. No one picks up when you call the pickup phone number for assistance. Never again. Kroger also has free grocery pickup. I recommend we all try them out while walmart fixes its broken processes. I visit Walmart often but it seems like ALL but especially the garners ferry location and it seems that EVERYONE is sucking on SOUR LEMONS.. seems ANGRY...UNINTERESTED and CUST SERVICE is NON EXISTENT...they would step on u b4 saying...good morning..good evening..may I HELP U? and it's not just the associates..is the mgr's as well...but there are FEW and one particular...MYRON (electronics) that really makes u feel like he's there to help...I've seen him on one occasion the way he dealt exemplary cust serv with an older gentleman that was clearly confused just being in the store but trying to execute the use of a card (gift) and it just wouldn't go through...not once did his body language/facial expression added to this gentleman's obvious embarrassment...he voided of everything and continued with the next cust.that really struck a cord with me bcuz I'm a geriatric nurse in memory care and to see him exemplified that much patience makes me think he should be conducting "cust service "classes...THX U MYRON... read more

With this civid19 going on you'd think they would be enforcing the rules but I guess they just don't care about their employees or the customers. They recently put arrows down the isles, green ones for going that directions and the red ones for do not enter but does anyone pay attention to them, of course not, it's Walmart, they don't give a crap. Then it's a joke with the employees who have masks, how does wearing them below your mouth help. Most every one of them wear them this way, a lot don't bother. I'm just not a big Walmart Shopper. I'm more of a Target Gal. But I do come here often to pick up stuff. I came here tonight to get all my Halloween candy. It's a good place that has just about everything. But the registers are always crowded. ..., considering they have a million of them it seems like they could open more up. I'm always at the express lane behind some person with 50 items. It's not as clean as Target. But I guess I'll keep shopping here due to their prices. Lots of homeless hang around here too. This place is horribly managed. We just went at 5 pm in the afternoon and waited in line for 35 min because they literally had one register open. The line was massive. Customer service had three employees standing around doing nothing while the line got longer and longer. Employees were also walking around the store doing nothing. I recently decided to sign up for Walmart+ to get food delivered to my house. The first delivery was supposed to come today, and it is now 4 hours past the time it was supposed to arrive. I haven't received a call, email, text, or any other sort of communication from Walmart. Furthermore, I tried to call the store to see what was going on TWICE, and both times someone picked up the phone and immediately hung up. Walmart currently has a hold on the funds for this delivery, and I can't even talk to someone there to see what is going on. So many other companies are doing such a good job with delivery; a company the size of Walmart has no excuse for service this incredibly poor. Decent Walmart location the staff are on the dumb side. A toys stocker associate in their 40's did not know what a slinky is. I dunno who that person was hired instead of but I find the fact that they were 1 of the smarter associates in the store is scary. The tire department is nice and courteous. They put checked my tire pressure and added some air to the tires at no charge which is really nice. Bridgette in the auto department was the most rude and aggressive...completely unpleasant person that I've come across at a Walmart yet. 6 months ago I purchased a set of new tires form Walmart, and paid extra for the warranty. Well my tire completely blew so I came back to get it exchanged per the warranty. The second we pulled up she cut me and my father off before we could ever speak, with only one car in the garage she acted as if they were completely slammed with work and didn't have time to consult with us on what was going on. Just snapping and directing, rude and offensive. Every time we attempted to speak we were cut off and when asked "what type of tire is it?" Before we had a chance to answer she snapped back again "you need to know what type of tire you're getting before you come" and then again trying to explain to her that it's on our ticket we have and the type of tire would be on the warranty I purchased and would be in their system she just snapped again "no, no you need to know what tire". So aside from a being sold a faulty tire that's not half a year old blowing while driving down the highway during rush hour going 70mph... I have to deal with that kind of "customer service" when I want to get to replace it? Congrats Bridgette for ensuring that not only do I never spend another penny at Walmart but I'll also NEVER refer anyone else to use them either. Unfortunately I do most of my grocery shopping here because it's so close to my house and they have the most affordable prices. It's always a 15-25 minute long ordeal to checkout. They only have 2 or 3 registers open usually and it is always packed in there. The carts are always messed up which is irritating because you have to pull out several carts to find one good one. The deli customer service is not very good if you need fresh cut deli meat or cheese, I would just skip it. But Walmart does have a super cool "savings catcher" feature. You can upload your receipt and they will give you your money back if they find any lower prices in other stores in your city. read more

There were cute earrings on sale in the jewelry case that I wanted to see. In total I asked three sales people to please tell somebody I wanted to see the earrings. After about 10 minutes one came and said she needed a key but after 10 more minutes nobody came and now a man was waiting too for a battery. Total waiting time now almost a half hour. I asked for the store manager who never showed up. We both finally left. This was months ago and I've not been back. I hate Walmart, period. Unfortunately, in the Sumter area the choices are somewhat limited. The self-checkout lines are great, when they're working. They help you get in and out quickly and avoid being stuck behind some moron in a checkout line. When I have to go, I go early. While they are doing a little better keeping the shelves stocked, they're usually out of some items. I think a little more competition would help. NOT THR HERO WE ARE HOLDING OUT FOR. This store is never clean. The self checkouts are often broken or so dirty they don't work. You are lucky if there isn't a 3-4 person line at the open registers. If there is a cart, it's probably broken. Rushed down to get milk, beer, and propane today during halftime. They were out of the milk brand type we drink - paid $2 more than usual. I have ordered Gold Peak Diet tea at least a dozen times to no eval. Some times they have 59 oz. bottle but not very often. They absolutly refuse to carry the 89 oz. size. They carry the 89 oz. size at Food Lion so I buy all of my groceries at Food Lion. You would think Walmart would catch on. My husband and I arrived in the automotive department with a spare tire on our car after suffering a flat tire en route from Florida to Maryland . Tried ordering food from the deli and was waiting a good while and never got served. I was the only one there and there were 4 people behind the counter just congregating and ignoring me. Our eyes met and I even waved at one of them to get their attention and they just ignored me. Incredibly rude, I was trying to be polite and just order some food but I ended up going elsewhere. the younger people this walmart employed in their deli need to find a different job. read more

Walking into Walmart I was upset. My family and I moved to Columbia 5 days ago and on that day both my parents tested positive for Covid. The day we moved my husband and son got sick. My husband has required extra meds and care due to mild complications and I am exhausted from nursing my family all week while trying to keep myself safe. (I was negative originally and negative again today). My niece was kind enough to pick up my order today for all our necessities while quarantining in an Airbnb. She dropped them at our door and as I started bringing them in I realized it was the wrong order. I called Walmart 8 times and no one would answer or if they did they would hang up immediately. I waited in a line of fifteen people here only one person was at customer service. Eventually I explained the situation and they sent a young lady named Shalaina to get me. She was very nice, took care of everything and personally filled my order immediately. It goes to show that when you're having the worst week, a small act of kindness can really brighten your evening. Therefore I gave five stars.
