I have fallen in love with this store. The meats are cut fresh in house. Since my fish market closed,I have been coming here for my fish. I love that they have alot of stuff you wouldn't see at larger stores ,like the seasonings. Or the deli department the Cole slaw, various cheeses, spreads etc. I've been getting my wine from here Because the prices are just that good. Nice and helpful customer service. They usually have baggers. The ambiance is like a friendly mom n pop kinda vibe, you find all kinda stuff in here. And I've never disappointed, I normally go over my budget. read more

I love coming here. This place is huge. It is a gigantic grocery store that sells already cooked food and of course groceries. I have never been to a Superlo before but it was right beside the Target and I still needed some more items. I was able to find items here that I have not seen in a decade. I found some flavors from my favorite brands that I never knew existed. The parking lot is huge. The lines can get long but it should not take that long. read more

Have you tried Superlo Foods? While they are not the biggest chain in the area or nation, here's what I like about SL: + THE BEST ROTISSERIE CHICKEN -Hands down! I dare you to tell me Costco, Sams, Kroger or other grocery stores are better! (BTW: I love the seasoned, not crazy about anyone's lemon pepper). I hate that price keeps going up (currently $ 7.99) + HOT FOOD is always good. My friends love their fried chicken & fried catfish. I think the fried chicken is good -but I nothing to write home about. You will also find dressing, pork chops, selection of seasoned veggies, etc.! + MUSIC! Okay, sounds corny. But they always have good music with the volume up! I've often found customers singing along in the aisles! LOL! + PRICE. I've had many tell me their prices are cheaper than that "K-store." Must be, cause I've seen the competitor's employees shop here! +ESOP. Although I know nothing about how their program works (I don't know anyone who works there), It seems nice that their employees are also company owners (few businesses are Employee-Stock-Ownership-Program) +BEER & WINE (I should have listed this first!) A nice selection of wine & beer in a grocery store with very competitive prices. +FIND IT HERE! There are many items that are hard to find elsewhere -yet I can always count on SL to have -such as: Catfish Steaks, Pork for Seasoning, etc. What I don't like: -Limited selection of items. From my prospective: "Bargain" brands seem to be 50/50 over Name-Brands (compared to other stores that offer more variety of name-brands -in addition to bargain brands). *Again, just my prospective. I don't know their bargain to name-brand ration) Come to think about it, I've NEVER seen the lines wrap around the store like at the other stores. They always have enough people on staff to check us out. That alone deserves another star! read more

I love this store. It is such a refreshing change from Kroger and Walmart. If you aren't from Memphis, you don't remember the Seesel's grocery stores, which were wonderful. Superlo isn't Seesel's, but it is the closest thing we have. I love having a choice of brands other than the Kroger store brands. I would shop here more if it wasn't so far. I live in the Germantown area and really wish someone would build a Superlo in Germantown or Collierville. read more

Deli is deluxe! Best deal in Memphis on a fried chicken dinner in Memphis. Get there around 4:30 when they are cooking up dinner. Fresh, hot, moist, wonderfully seasoned whole bird, Hawaiian bread rolls and your choice of two sides. Great deal on a meal for a family of 4 with a little left over. An east Memphis gem. Do not shop here for groceries so can not speak to grocery store but the deli is super. read more

There is a trade off. Prepare yourself. They have lower prices on meats and that is achieved due to caliber of employees. Checkers, meat market, deli, and produce - they are neither helpful nor intellectually capable of being so. Management appears incapable and unwilling to rectify. read more

I like this store a lot. It's clean and well stocked. Their deli is great! They have the best fried chicken in town. Go there instead of a fast food place & get a 10 piece box. They also have fresh heat and serve home cooking; coleslaw, black eyed peas, cabbage, green beans, banana pudding etc. The bakery is also great. I like their onion rolls. They also have assorted cakes, pies, cookies, and the cherry turnovers are fab. They have a fantastic butcher, I have gotten some excellent cuts of meat & they were reasonably priced. Another thing I have noticed is they hire people with disabilities, sorry to get preachy but I think that it is important to give all people a chance. I read that this store is owned by a local family who have been in the grocery business here for years, I would rather my money stay here than go to a large chain based in Cincinnati or St. Louis :) read more

Superlo has its charms. It's local, and one of the only grocery stores in the area that's not a Kroger. It doesn't have self-checkout lanes so you can always count on a human being scanning your groceries -- no matter what time you shop. The staff are very friendly and most of the customers during the day are adorable little grandmas. The prices are great and there's a nice assortment of prepared foods. However, the selection is often lacking. For example: on my latest mission I was purchasing ingredients for a beef stew, as well as a few other staples. I needed kale, and saw that greens were on sale for 99 cents a bunch. "Awesome!" I thought until I saw that there was no kale. I ended up having to buy pre-packaged kale that was way more than I needed and cost three times as much. Single-serving Fage Greek yogurt comes in 6 flavors but all Superlo had was strawberry and plain. I'll stop before this becomes a discourse on how bourgie my grocery list is. What I'm saying is, Superlo is great but don't be surprised if you can't find what you're looking for. read more

I absolutely love Superlo. Every time I walk in the door I'm greeted by someone, and welcomed. I like that. Every time I'm passed by a worker they smile and ask how I am. That's just good business, people. Sure Superlo has some great prices. Sure they have a good selection of food. The thing that makes them so great though, is their attitude. I've never once had a worker be rude, indifferent or uncaring in the store. It's almost as of you're transported into a small town grocery when you walk in. People are that friendly and helpful. Side note: they also carry the best pimento cheese in the world. It's called Tom's Tiny Kitchen pimento cheese. You can find it in the meat section. I don't know why it's there. It. Is. This is my grocery store. I haven't visited the "other" store in years. The staff is always super nice. The prices are the best prices in memphis. The selection is good for a store on the medium side of the scale. It might not LOOK fancy, but that's ok. I'm not there for decoration. I'm there for fresh, good priced, good service food that I can get quickly. In a city where food prices have skyrocketed to unreasonable levels (like seriously can go out to eat for cheaper), SuperLo is the one bastion of sanity when it comes to pricing. read more

Though I still love this store, I had to turn around and leave this evening when I tried to do my grocery shopping. I had the little man with me, and their grocery carts do not fit car seats in the top of the basket. I can't very well purchase 2 weeks of groceries with his car seat in the bottom part, right? Superlo is almost a time machine ride back to the "old" grocery stores I grew up with (Pic-Pac, Giant, Montesi's), both aesthetically and selection-wise. And that's not a bad thing: having become addicted to the slickness of Schnucks (Rrrrrr) and the newer, more upscale Kroger stores, I kind of forgot that the old-style grocery stores still had a boat-load of foods to choose from. Once Schnucks retreated (Rrrrrr), I rediscovered Superlo. And it's still plenty "modern," but maybe just in a Jetsons sorta way. Price-wise, Superlo beats Kroger for the staples. And--Extra Super Bonus--Superlo's beer selection is GREAT, almost as good as Raffe's but with lower prices. read more

I've been by this location a bunch of times while going to Target or the Wine Market. I had never been to a Superlo, but it didn't seem like it would be a decent or clean place to grab groceries so I always stopped at a Kroger on my way home. Big mistake!!! I ended up here while in a hurry headed out of town and was surprised by the selection of food items, how well organized the place was and how clean it was too! Produce section has a variety of items which were all super fresh! When I'm out this way visiting target or the wine market, I will now be making this the grocery store I visit! read more

This grocery store lives up to its name. It's basically a Kroger with the prices slashed. You can find some very good deals, and it's perfect for those on a tight budget. If you're a carnivore, you can find good sales on meat -- they sell Sanderson Farms natural chicken, and you can sometimes find it for under a dollar a pound. And if you love catfish -- you can also find good deals, usually under $3.50 per pound. A good place to stock up on pop (or soda) for a party when you don't want to spend a mint. Six packs of Pepsi are four for ten dollars. read more

Produce is fresh but most packaged+wrapped in plastic, disappointed no longer market style to pick yourself & drop into paper/plastic bags. Meat/poultry selection is good & one of few stores that still have real butchers. Great deli counter w/good selection of pre-made home style food & baked goods. Big store, shelves full but surprisingly lack of variety as in prior years. Prices average, high on some things. Recommend getting to know store & what is practical to buy there. Accepts coupons & cashiers/baggers personable, helpful, etc. Will take groceries outside upon requests. Plenty of baskets, buggies & electric carts. read more

The Deli workers don't actually cook. I've seen them take Savannah Classics frozen entrees out of the frozen food section. Savannah Classics makes cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and broccoli and rice casserole. These same entrees are found on their deli buffet as well as in smaller containers with the SuperLo label on it. Save your money. Just buy the Savannah Classics straight from the frozen food section. read more

Superlo Foods on Spottswood food services is horrible. My mother placed a hugh order for food service to be pick up today (3/31/19) at 12 pm. When I arrived at 12:05pm I was informed that my order can not be fill. My mother haven't received any telephone call to informed her of the order will not be fill. The manager of the deli/food service stated the reasons why the order will not be fill because the oven is not working. Ok, but you knew this before 12 pm, you have not started cooking my order. Then she change the lie stating the food is in the oven but won't be ready until another hour for two. Ok, which is it, the oven not work or you just started cooking the order. No! You think I dumb or do not understand business ethics. The true reason, you have not cook the order and that's the only lie you can come up with. This is not the first time a incidents with this food service at this particular store. This is the fourth time, informing management in the deli/food services doesn't help becuse each time this happen it gets worst. The only reasons I do shop here is because of my mother. I do my personal shopping at Kroger's and other stores because of the services that I continue too received. I recommend to shop else where. I had never been into SuperLo before, and I went in on a recommendation from a friend, she told me how awesome their wine selection is. When I went in, I met the wine department manager Joe in the aisle and WOW did he know his stuff!! He was so knowledge about the wine, so eager and genuinely happy to help me find exactly what I wanted (which I did! You had my favorite wine, no one else in the city carries it!!) Joe is a total gem, and I was extremely impressed with your wine selection, the over the top customer service and the prices are better than everywhere else. Will absolutely shop a SuperLo and nowhere else now. PLEASE recognize Joe for the fantastic job he is doing, because he was seriously impressive. read more

6532 Winchester Rd 38115 location I went to the Superlo on 6/9/18 at 9:30am. I purchased deli meat from the deli dept. I asked the young lady if she could slice a pepperoni roll if I bought it. She went to the back to find out. The answer was the meat dept can slice it. I went to the meat dept. I asked a white gentleman if he could slice the pepperoni roll. He stated he was going on break & asked a lady if she could help me. The lady said she would have to go in the back to ask for permission. I walked off & went back to the deli. The deli lady stated she could not slice the meat if it was not from the deli. I went to the customer desk. The lady there said someone in the deli dept could help me. I said no ma'am they can't. She then said the meat dept could help. She then paged for "Reggie." Reggie never responded. Pitiful! Pitiful customer service!!!!!! Unacceptable!!! All I wanted was the pepperoni to be sliced so that my kids could have an easy snack! Finally, I did what I guess I should have done in the first place~ cut the dog on pepperoni roll up MYSELF! read more

Many times they never have enough lanes even during peak times of they day. Just recently I was in the express lane and it took almost 5 minutes for the cashier to get a payment to go through. The person working in customer service saw the delay and would not let me check out there. When I finally got to the register the cashier did not apologize for the delay and was still chatting with the customer who he had already checked out.
