I don't know how it happens in a store so full, that whatever I'm looking for is so often out of stock or they don't carry it anymore. I have to order from Amazon no sugar, sweet pickle relish. A lot of people need that who can't eat sugar. They're always out of something I'm looking for. It's always crowded and there may be two or three people on registers. They want you to check your own groceries, but that always turns into a problem where you have to find someone to help you. The customers seem angry and pushy, which is not the store's fault but nonetheless it's an unpleasant experience, I think in part because everyone else is going what I am, looking for things that can't be found or aren't there and you can't find help or you're standing in line somewhere. Lines are long and I can rarely find anyone to help in the aisles. They need more personnel who are better trained and if it's a problem, they need to make it a better work environment so their employees aren't so exhausted and irritable. read more

While driving up to Durango around 6:00 PM the night before some medical appointments, we noticed a tire was loosing air - we learned that the Walmart Auto Care Center was open until 7:00. I went in an talked to the gentleman at the front desk, and he started the process- Kai and his co-worker ultimately took the lead on the situation, determined what needed to be done, offered options, and got us confidently back on the road - a bit past 7:00. Everyone was professional and friendly, and there appeared to be a true team atmosphere in the shop. Kai was exceptional tho- going beyond what we expected - a great experience at a stressful time. Some good, some bad. I'm not sure if it's just par for the course for Walmarts in southern Colorado, or in smaller towns, or what, but they really do a terrible job of keeping things in stock. It seems like they are almost always out of certain items. Many of these are the kind of things that are popular enough that an astute manager would make more of an effort to keep adequate stock on hand. Some things are constantly and repeatedly out, as though the pandemic was still at its peak. I know that many of us became pretty understanding when COVID was raging, but I'm pretty sure that our being tolerant of it back then didn't mean that we would be okay with it forever. Never in my life have I been lied to and treated with no respect than by the food delivery in Durango. I put a order in on 2-12-25 and it is now 2-15-25 and no order. Been delivered twice to wrong place because the driver did not speak any English so did not understand directions. Notices of delay were never given to me unless I called. They have used every excuse in the office but still NO food. I am a disabled senior with no vehicle and for them to treat me so badly is appalling. I wonder how they treat other people? True Confession - I am as guilty as many of you of making Walmart the punchline in casual jokes. Fast Forward to yesterday when I am on vacation, looking like I have been Camping for a few days (hoping I don't end up on a photo site of Walmart Customers...haha) and I find a Walmart "near you". From the friendly greeter to the super efficient, smiling check out cashier, this was a pleasant experience! I'm not an average Walmart shopper. I usually avoid Walmart. But niece & nephew like it, so we went here. I found some amazing Christmas deals for 2020 at 75% off. I love making cookies, and I found cookie bags and boxes for 25¢ or 50¢ each. Family found the food items they needed at super low prices. We also picked up some inexpensive tees for a friend. Husband found 3 pairs of warm, wool socks for $5! We'll only use them in the cold climate states we visit & maybe FL if the temps ever go down to 30° again. My niece did have a sloth experience at her check-out. In the time it took her to check-out with 12 items, I checked out with the cashier next to her "under 20 items" check out and so did two others. All 3 of us had more than my niece! Thus, Walmart earns 4 instead of 5 stars. read more

Went to drop off a prescription, after 30 minutes of waiting around the store they informed me they could not approve it til the spoke to my vet! This was at 10am, around noon they called and informed me they had a supplement they could use since they didn't have what the doctor had prescribed! Around 2pm I called them because I didn't have an update, they told me I had to go back to the vet to get another written prescription!!! No phone call, no heads up, half my day wasted! Now I'm running around trying to get this emergency prescription filled because they lacked on relaying any info to me in regards! I'd give 0 stars if that was an option! read more

I was here with my children got a full cart of all the groceries we needed. When we got to check out my Walmart pay would not work I talk with several staff members then the floor manager. They could not fix it so I had to drive home and get cash and drive all the way back. They assured us my cart would still be there. When I came back we waited in line for 10 minutes just to find out they put it away. I definitely don't recommend this Walmart. read more

This Walmart is pretty cool for a Walmart! They have a nice alcohol selection (surprisingly?!) and some nice Durango and general Colorado souvenirs if you're here as a tourist! Nice prices too. They had my favorite vegan ice cream so I left as a happy camper. read more

A bit random, but one of the grocery stockers was the absolute kindest to me. I've been on a camping trip this whole week, and when we stopped a few days back, I was glared at by quite a few people... But today, when we hopped back in, this boy, maybe my own age of 18 y/o, with black hair, asked how my day was. It was really nice to hear a kind greeting from a local, rather than receive a hard scowl. If anything, I'm writing this to hopefully get to that boy and thank him. Thank you! The employees do not care what so ever by the guests, they are annoyed by the guests. Rick in electronics is a horrible excuse of an employee, he should be ashamed of his work ethic. He wouldn't go to the back room to get a $69 item that they had 4 of in stock. He simply said I could order it online and come back and pick it up later in the day; because it's easier for me to come back later in the day than him to go find the product. Tire center sucks! If you have a flat on a trailer your out of luck, regardless of what they tell you over the phone, they don't work on them. As luck would have it I had a blow out on a Sunday and Walmart was the only tire center open. They initially told me they did until I showed up. I have to take the tire off myself and wheel it in for them before they touched it. If you do have to stop in ask for Cameron, he's the only one with a brain that works at the place. Wal-Mart - the auto center - gets 1 star. Those guys couldn't even change my oil because they didn't have the right filter. They told me to go to Napa, by the filter, and bring it to them so they could change it. Then they don't put the oil cap back on, so when I get home I notice a burning smell, and there is a nasty oily mess all over my engine. Way to go, boners. Wal-Mart - the store - gets 3 stars. I hate writing bad reviews. I work in the service industry and completely understand how difficult it can be to work in customer service, especially during the times of Covid. However, I was actually shocked by my visit to Walmart this morning. I accidentally walked in the wrong door. The door I walked in said "welcome" and I am on vacation and quite relaxed so I walked through it. Apparently this was the exit. I was made aware of this when the door attendant said "you want to try walking in the right door next time?". I understand that part of her job is to direct people to the right area and at times it is probably frustrating when people walk in the wrong door. It would have been far more appropriate for her to politely let me know that I had used the wrong door instead of making such a rude and necessary remark. I have been in customer service and management for quite some time and I would never dream of saying that to a customer. It was incredibly hostile and unnecessary. read more

Went in to buy tires,and get one fixed. Worst experience ever. They wouldn't fix the tire that was still under warranty, but had already started on the new ones. I was the only one there and it was still over an hour and a half. When they finally wrote up the ticket they had undercharged me by over sixty dollars. I brought it to their attention and they finally had to get a manager to fix it. I mentioned that they were lucky I was honest and the cashier said I was a liar and he had caught the mistake. As a blanket statement, I hate Wal-Mart. However, I hate this one the most. It was manageable until they revamped it and made it more confusing and tackier instead of making it better. Fact: it has the highest concentration of tourists in the entire town of Durango. Which makes it even harder to stomach going there when all you want is a little uncrowded peace and quiet while shopping. Fact: I would rather go to Farmington and shop in their Wal-Mart. This story has the most unfriendly employees of any store I've ever been in. The greeters don't even respond when you say hello and the employees in the self checkouts are annoyed every time they have to help someone. The young woman who helped me today literally threw the cherries we we purchased onto the bagging area. This is not a one time occurrence or I would not be writing this review. I tried the ordering online for two day delivery. Epic fail. Took five days to get here. FedEx damaged box. So I decided to to order n have delivered to store. I get to customer service n was told to go to back of store. My response was if I'm going to back of store I can get the Mr clean wipes n swing over to pet center for kitty litter box. N come back to front to cash out. I ask for refund cuz it is easier. Asked the clerk for refund she said u have to go back n get product for refund. So disappointed. Asked her who I could call. No one, no help even the managers were on lunch n unavailable. Just have staff with answers. I did go to website where I ordered on www n put in an immediate refund by staff. Train staff to give good direction at store. Again not a place to shop. For me, another part of story is I had knee surgery n kind of hard to walk all over. read more

I am so disappointed that Walmart in Durango CO is not adhering to Colorado mandate that requires the wearing of mask, over nose and mouth, inside all public places. When I was shopping yesterday at least a dozen shoppers (entire families) were without a mask, and another dozen were wearing masks improperly. I did not feel safe in the store and will not be shopping at Walmart in Durango CO in the future until they enforce the Colorado mandate. read more

I have went to this Walmart for years and it is probably the worst Walmart I have been to No one is willing to help you and when there is lines basically out the door and the employees are stranding around checking out girls, watching how many people are in line and still doing nothing. I have had to call corporate on them many times and nothing has changed, the management is so rude and yelled at me, yelling at me that no one knew how to run a resister and I think it's pretty weird that they work there and don't know how to do something so basic, I'm pretty sure that is there job. Another incident I had let them know there was only one register open and there is lines all the way to their pharmacy While there was 4 women standing and talking about who knows what And then had the nerve to tell me to put my items away. I would recommend going anywhere but this Walmart I have had to go a whole state over because this store is so bad. They really should be re-trained and definitely have the whole store supervised. read more

I come here often, and all I have to say is Kathy is a rude, unfit worker. She insulted my disabled friend, and when I asked to see her manager, she said that I had verbally attacked her. Man I forget how much I miss these big Walmart Super Centers until I go into one. I mean Walmart is Walmart, but the Super Centers has a legit grocery store attached to it.
