Carside pickup was a disgrace Saturday before Easter. I've been sitting here for over 25 minutes along with at least 10 other cars. Associate finally brings the orders out and it's one family's single order. Where they do that at? A family who parked beside me and went in to shop is now back at their car with their items. The person on the other side of me who was waiting before I got here left. Yikes! The young person who eventually brought my items (different than the person I mentioned before) was very nice and said they were "kinda" working solo. So the wait times are somewhat understandable on a holiday weekend. As for the in-store experience, it's pretty solid. This location always has stuff that Manville and North Brunswick locations are out of - hence why I was here today. It also is less crowded and noisy than those older stores. Carside gets a 2 at best for the wait times and strange system. In store gets a 3.5. I'll extend grace and give a 3 with the caveat to forgo curbside and only shop in store. read more

On the weekend you cannot speak to the store manager, I was waiting for 40 minutes and manager did not showed up. It appears to me that Walmart management don't care about customers and doesn't care to train employees I spoke to Walmart customer representative in home office, picture is not much different. I actually liked the service and overall facilities in this Walmart . They have a subway inside . Also a very very good deli. Loved the chicken wings there : really fresh and cheap . They also have a photo center, meat, bakery , pharmacy, ATMs etc etc. Surprisingly customer service was fast . Not much of queues in exit rows. I went on a week day . Not sure how it is on weekends. My preferred Supercenter Walmart because parking is straight forward and so is the store layout. I've experienced their curbside pick up during high covid times and it was seamless for me. The app makes the process very simple and you can see the substitutions they make as they shop. Some of the substitutions made don't made sense but you have the chance to decline them. read more

I did not pay attention at first but while she rung up my items, she licks her fingers in order to separate the plastic Walmart bags EACH and EVERY time she handles a bag!!! She's not wearing a mask either, but that isn't as bad as licking her fingers to bag the items! Poor! I was told my 1.2 years old Ever Start Max battery was good, but they only did a voltage test. I replaced my alternator and that did not fix the problem. I took my car to Barry's automotive and they tested my battery and it failed cold crank test. It cost me $25. I was told by East Brunswick Walmart I would have to go to a Walmart with Automotive. I went to the one in Old Bridge on route nine, but they did not have a replacement battery and we're too busy to test the battery. I went to Edison Walmart on route 27 and they tested the battery and it failed, but they did not have a replacement battery, and said East Brunswick Walmart had 3. Amisha at the East Brunswick Walmart would not honor the warranty without written documentation. I had to go back to the Edison, Walmart automotive and have them test the battery with a special tester that would provide a report. I took the report to the East Brunswick Walmart, and got the last battery they had but they will not honor the warranty. If this battery goes bad and took away my receipt. Full disclosure I am not generally a fan of Walmart. Walmart locations are generally hit or miss, new locations tend to be cleaner and stocked well while some of the older locations....let's just say not so much. While the in store experience may leave a lot to be desired, I am enjoying shopping with Walmart.com. I setup a pickup at this location for an item I purchased online, pickup was easy....although I didn't follow the correct protocol. I went to the pickup location on the side of the building, you have to call and an employee will bring the items to your car. I didn't know that this was for groceries only. Online merchandise orders are picked up inside but after telling him how long the line was outside, he offered to bring my order to me anyway.....excellent service. Item was placed in my trunk and off I went, very impressed. I have been checking out Walmart.com more often as they have added a marketplace, think Amazon.....the prices are very good. I recently purchased a replacement thermometer for my Kenmore BBQ, great price and free shipping! read more

I hate this Walmart. It always is DISGUSTING. There's stuff on the floor and everything is unorganized. If you want to ask any of the staff where things are just don't because you'll just waste your time because they have no idea where things are. If you plan to even have photos developed here then make sure you're ready to wait 2 hours for a staff member to finally return to the photo area. When you finally decided to check out you'll notice there's at tops 5 registers open with OUTRAGEOUSLY long lines when there's 5 other registers closed. 5 stars to the customer service rep. ASHLEY THAXTON, but zero stars to her manager UMMAY in Walmart - East Brunswick, NJ. I went to return a product that I bought on Walmart web page. I had my barcode and the notification that Walmart will package it for me, however manager Ummay refused to do so arguing that the above policy is ONLY valid WHEN they have the right size of box on hand, so she made me wait for around 30min while they were looking for a large box (instead of letting me go and solve their internal problem by themselves). They couldn't find the right size of box so manager Ummay insisted that she could not return the product. However Ashley T. told us she got an idea, she came back 5 minutes after that with a solution. I applaud Ashley Thaxton's proactivity who solved the problem using two boxes together to make an extra large box to package the product. Ms. Ashley Thaxton should be the manager based on her customer service and problem solving skills!!! I dont understand how Ummay can be the manager since she LACKS both skills. Went to return ribs that I bought that had gone bad. I was told because of covid, they can't accept food returns. I understand that but I'm not returning because I'm changing my mind, they are bad. I was told I could save the package and come back once they start accepting returns. Who doesn't love a 24 hour Walmart? This location has been my one stop shop for a lot of my household goods. It has everything from groceries to storage containers. It's convenient late at night. My main complaint is that the staff is sometimes hard to find and a lot of times, they don't know where some goods are located. It can be very hard to find certain items but mostly because the store is difficult to navigate. I recommend checking out the bakery section for some affordable sweets. The snack isles are huge. The produce is okay but not a lot of variety. Most people use self checkout because it is often faster. Make sure you keep your receipt until you leave the building because they do check it. read more

I have been to this Walmart numerous times over the past 3 years... However on 1/3/19 it was a bad experience. The store put a $17.99 Tide laundry detergent next on a stand saying it was $4.68 or so but denied it. At the register it rang up $17.99. The elderly lady at the register snapped and was lucky Tide laundry detergent doesn't sell for that cheap. No I am not a scam artist. Secondly she forgot to hand us our Listerine that we bought. Call the store and no one answers the damn phone.... May not want to come back here anymore. Updated 1/4/19.... Just a quick add-on to my original review: Now that I'm doing a home renovation, I've found that Walmart has a great home improvement section! You can even buy some of the exact same name-brand items that you'd get at the big hardware stores for less! A few months ago I got a Kwikset 96900-250 keyed door knob and deadbolt combo for free in-store pickup for only $20.39 plus tax. I returned the unopened one I got at the Lowe's right across the street which cost me $26.97 for the exact same model! That's about 25% less, plus I paid only a few dollars out of pocket since I had store credit. Like the big hardware stores, they sell paint, including "oops" paint at a discount. I can't attest to its quality but they have the Glidden brand just like the Home Depot carries, but different types. For example, the Glidden High Endurance Plus interior paint at Walmart seems to be comparable to the Glidden Premium or Diamond interior paint at the Home Depot. Both stores also have paint tray kits in "good", "better", and "best". I spent a ton of money on my interior paints at the Home Depot (and without coupons! I didn't know about them) but I'll likely be getting Walmart paint for my basement. Still just 4 stars because the selection and prices are great and the associates are pleasant (shout out to Elizabeth at the store front!) but they need more cashiers and customer service clerks. read more

First day open for business! And I'm the first to review! It was a pleasurable experience. You were greeted at the door with refreshments if you wanted any. Throughout the store, free samples of different types of food and snacks were being given out. All of the staff was on the floor, offering help when needed. Even when you were just browsing. The lady in the makeup aisle was super sweet. We chatted for a bit. The bakery offers a lot of delicious cookies, cakes, breads and donuts. There is also a deli on site. Not offering Boars Head, which is a negative for me personally, but not a big deal. I feel the lay out of the store and the merchandising was great and was easy to navigate through. Let's hope it stays clean and the staff stays attentive! For it being the first day, there was a lot of traffic, but the store wasn't overly crowded. I'm a fan! My dad really loves it here. I've only come here a couple times. Each time I've gone, it was never uncomfortably crowded. This time we were able to browse and look for our stuff without feeling rushed or tense. During Halloween, they had an impressive amount of, and variety, of costumes, and candy. But I particularly loved the arts and crafts section as well as the baking. I found great deals on cupcake wrappers, icings, fondant, and edible bee candy toppers for a great price! Cheaper than AC Moore. They have a bit of everything here, including clothes, shoes, workout equipment, but I didn't have enough time to look. As for clothes, some of the sale items were cheap, but I didn't need anything, so I didn't bother trying them on. I do think you can snag a good deal here though. At self-checkout my dad was having some trouble and the attendant was a young girl, but really helpful, patient, and friendly. They have a big bathroom, and very clean inside. I am never grossed out or rushing out of there. Plenty of parking here. They have a Redbox and a Dots ice cream machine before you enter the store. If you're hungry, grab a bite at Subways! The produce and groceries look really good. Pretty big. The frozen aisles have a lot! I didn't need anything but I was tempted to buy their big, green grapes and fresh looking bread loaves/baguettes. The best draw here?? My cheesecake! I went to 5 other stores and couldn't find them. I managed to find them here, and unfortunately they must have been popular because only two were left. But it was cheaper than the supermarket by about 30 cents. Hey, you buy enough of them, that adds up fast! Will definitely come here regularly for cheesecake, my odd grocery need, and baking endeavors! read more

They put items on an end cap with the wrong prices. You tell them this they tell you its for the items on the shelves below but the others items are on the the shelf right above the price. They refuse to honor the price even though it's their mistake for putting it on that shelf. If your gonna put different items on the shelf at least change the price. read more

If you are a big fan of chaos, then the East Brunswick Walmart is the place to go. Sure, they have A LOT of stuff, but if you ask a person where any of the stuff is, good luck. I asked literally five workers where the humidifiers were located. Each person gave me a look of bewilderment followed by some vague finger pointing. "Go down that aisle." Nope. Later, one said, "Look in Hardware." Nope. Finally an employee said, "We don't have any, but you can order online and pick it up." HA! I said, "No thanks, because this place kinda sucks," and left. I decided to go to Target on Ryders Lane in New Brunswick. The difference between the two stores is night and day. Target was calm, organized, and inviting. And they had a huge selection of humidifiers that were easy to find. So if you have to go to a "big box" store, hit up Target and avoid the East Brunswick Walmart. They are the opposite of super. read more
