On a lazy weekend morning in search of caffeine, we found Habibi Motor Cafe - a cute, modern, bright coffee shop with tons of seating for remote work opportunities. The look of the space alone draws me in to visit, but the coffee is so good as well. Their specialty latte flavors all sounded amazing, but we opted for the tiramisu & the white chocolate raspberry. I appreciate a cafe that makes their own syrups/flavors, and the taste at Habibi's reflects that. I loved having real raspberry puree instead of an imitation syrup, and the flavor of the tiramisu latte was spot on - not too sweet, just how we like it. The coffee was bold and smooth, and I cannot wait to return and try the rest of the menu! read more

While driving around on a rainy Saturday afternoon, we decided to give Habibi a try for a quick pick-me-up. We ordered the Crème Brûlée Iced Matcha and a Pineapple Matcha Smoothie off their specials list. I enjoyed the Pineapple Matcha, but the Crème Brûlée just tasted like a regular matcha. Also, the cold foam was not sweetened, which was different. The interior has some pretty cool car themed decor and there are various types of seating. It was pretty busy when we arrived, but we had drinks in under 5 minutes and found a place to sit. They have several board games, so we passed the time with some checkers, which was nice. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. I would say the pricing is a little bit high (around $17 for 2 drinks), but I would still consider coming back to try something new. read more

Ok, I initially saw this on social media and have had it saved for a while. However, lately I've been hearing how the quality of drinks has gone down and is not as good as it is marketed. Unfortunately, the latter was very true. We got their Crème Brülée Latte. I will say it doesn't look the best in my picture below because we ordered our drink without ice, which was intentional. The espresso was terrible, and the syrup wasn't great either. We also got their Banana Pudding, which was probably the only saving grace. It was well made and did taste great. However, when you look at it in terms of the quantity you get for the price, it was not worth it. The space is nice and pleasant. It seems like a great spot to stop by if you want to get some work done. However, it's not worth it for the drinks or food. read more

Let me start by saying that Habibi Motor Cafe has the cutest decor! Everything is super aesthetic and picture ready. I loved the decorations, and they had plenty of spots to sit down and hang out. When it came time to order, I found a fun menu with signature drinks and a mini menu detailing the different options to customize your order. As a matcha lover and specialty drink advocate, I thought it was so cool that I could swap espresso for matcha in several drinks. In addition to coffee, they have two cases full of fresh pastries that looked incredible. I came with a group, so we tried a few different things. We ordered the Strawberry Shortcake Latte, the Banana Cream Latte, and the Teddy Graham Matcha Latte. Of course, I couldn't leave without a snack, so we got the Cheddar Scallion Scone. The scone was delicious, it was served warm, and the flavors balanced really well. The Strawberry Shortcake Latte was also incredible; I loved the cold foam and thought it had the perfect amount of strawberry purée. I'd actually love to try that one with matcha next time. In second place was the Banana Cream Latte. The banana flavor was a bit distant, but it was a solid, fun drink with very rich and smooth coffee. Finally, in third place was the Teddy Graham Latte, which absolutely broke my heart. The cafe was definitely on the busier side when we arrived, so I'm not sure if something was forgotten or if it sat for too long, but sadly, the matcha was so watered down. It didn't taste like brown sugar or matcha; it mostly tasted like watery milk with only a hint of matcha at the end. I was so sad because this was my primary drink and I didn't enjoy it at all. I really wanted to love Habibi Motor Cafe, but I'm torn since I only loved one drink, one was just okay, and I really disliked the third. I won't write it off completely, maybe it was just a fluke, so I might be back for a second chance, but I'm not sure if it'll be my go-to. I'd still encourage you to try it for yourself since they have a great variety of drinks, nice staff, and a beautiful space! read more

Whenever I'm in Jersey, I always make Habibi Coffee a mandatory stop. The vibes in the coffee shop are awesome with car paintings all over the walls. I recommend ordering from their specials menu as they are always rotating new drinks. The last time I visited, I went with the tiramisu latte which came with a thick mascarpone cold foam, my favorite part. I also ordered a pastry which was delicious. You really can't go wrong here. The only thing I suggest is arriving early if you want to sit inside as it tends to get very busy on weekends. read more

This was my favorite coffee specialty shop that opened up this year. It's not too far from my house and is a great spot to go to, especially if you like cars and a cozy beverage. (: They're located off of Route 1 in the Village Green Shopping Center. If you miss the first entrance, you can go in the entrance where the Vitamin Shoppe is. There are tons of parking in the lot and it doesn't get too packed unless there's a Car Event! Inside is open, airy, with industrial vibes. The owners put a lot of care and thought into designing their space. I'm not a coffee drinker, but my husband has enjoyed their coffee. They usually have a seasonal menu and they share that and behind the scenes stuff on Insta. I love matcha and I'm happy to share that the matcha they use is ceremonial grade and prepared correctly. They also offer plant based milks like pistachio, oat, and almond. On our most recent visit, my husband got a cortado and I ordered the Santa's cookie matcha. It was very pretty and the matcha flavor stood out - yum! It was busy on Christmas Day, but we were able to get two seats and enjoy our drinks. I loved this place. The staff were super sweet and patient because we couldn't decide what to get. We both got lattes, one matcha and one coffee. Both turned out literally perfect and beautiful, and we got the monkey bread (highly recommend). I absolutely loved the local art spotlight and the fact that it was packed at 5 pm goes to show the kindness and community they're building here. This café has been on my list for the longest of times. I came for their famous Spanish latte, but left with three different flavored matches, which were immaculate. The Matcha was creamy, and the flavor was bolded, as well as the different housemaid syrups they used. I love when cafés use real fruit syrups for their drinks. The interior is beautiful with different vintage cars, Arabic writing and an amazing playlist playing throughout the café. You'll find many students sitting in studying or just gathering and meeting with friends. The staff is great at accommodating, different drink, preferences and giving recommendations on what's currently popular on their menu. They do also have a seasonal menu so definitely take a look at what drinks they offer. I still need to come back for that Spanish latte !! read more

I've had Habibi Motor Cafe in East Brunswick on my saved list of coffee shops to try for a while, and I'm so glad I finally made it in. I had even seen them at a food festival in Princeton back in October, which made me even more excited to visit their cafe. I ordered a cold brew and had to wait for a fresh batch, but it was ready exactly when they said it would be, which I really appreciated. I also tried the seasonal tiramisu latte, which was delicious. They have a ton of drink options and a great milk selection too, including Planet oat milk, Califia almond milk, Tache pistachio milk, and regular whole milk (apologies if I missed any other options!) The ambiance is excellent with their beautifully decorated for Christmas and it's very cozy, with a nice seating area that makes you want to stay awhile. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, and it seemed like the owners themselves were managing the register, which gave the place a very warm, personal feel. A couple small notes - there was a good amount of ice in my drink, and the to go cups didn't have closed sip lids. Not a dealbreaker at all, just something to note.
