Tell me why this associate watched me put cash into the machine to buy a lottery ticket and then when it didn't work she says "oh that hasn't been working" Maaaaaam. Now I've been standing here for twenty minutes waiting for someone to come get my cash back. Wowwww. Otherwise I havent had terrible experiences. Typical Walmart. One cashier is super grumpy and audibly talks shit about customers who don't speak English very well. We stopped in for misc. supplies during our week-long stay in Southwest Harbor. This is pretty much a standard example of the franchise; fairly well-maintained, with a hugh variety of items from which to choose. Well for all the Walmarts that I've been to in Maine which are total I think four or five this is the best location for finding items available on the shelf and for selection. Also the parking lot seem like less of a houseful than most parking at at Walmart. read more

We made the trek to this Walmart Supercenter from Bar Harbor to stock up on groceries and supplies for our stay. I've been to plenty of Walmart stores in various locations and states and this one impresses me as one of the better stores. It's very large and spacious with plenty of room to navigate the aisles. Prices are good and the shelves are well stocked with product. The store is also very clean and organized. Employees impressed me as friendly and helpful, professional and efficient. Restrooms were clean and properly stocked with supplies. Restroom fixtures and equipment all appeared in good repair. Access in and out of this Walmart is easy from either direction and the private parking lot is huge. The lot was free of debris and I really appreciated that shopping carts where not strewn about the lot, the carts were all properly stowed in the cart return areas or inside the store. read more

This Walmart has everything: auto, grocery, pharmacy, the usual department store things, optician, hair salon, and even a nail salon. Prices are competitive but this place is always busy due to its proximity to Mount Desert Island, Acadia National Park, and Bar Harbor. Usual Walmart quality and open 18 hours a day. read more

The bath rooms were messy and broken. everything on shelfs were ripped broken and punched and also used. there where shopping carts in parking lots. Broken down down self check outs. some rude dude yelled at me and my friend for grabbing somthing just because we had a purse. read more

Tire service center was NO HELP at all. I suffered a flat tire IN the Walmart parking lot. According to the dept. manager, the tire service center wouldn't help me at all unless I could drive the car into one of the service center bays! The reason given was liability. I was foolishly advised to drive on the rims into the bay which I didn't do. I'm 67 and began to change the tire in the parking lot myself, a friendly stranger helped and I drove to the nearby Midas. They quickly patched a hole in the tire. The hole was likely caused by debris in Walmart's parking lot as the tires are practically new. Walmart boasts that it "prides itself in customer service" but it needs to work alot harder to make that true. read more

Pool items are listed as being in isle "Y"....asked an employee if isle "Y" was in "Yard" and I was told , yes, they are in Garden. The Yard is not a Garden, that's why it's isle "Y". Found PH minus, which is what I was looking for and then needed a pool filter pump. I asked an employee where I could find that item. She told me it was in sporting goods F15. God forbid it should be with the rest of the pool items. It turns out that F15 did not have any pool pumps and that there is another F15 section in the front of the store. 10 minutes of walking around, after getting help and I was more confused and disgusted with Walmart's lack of intelligent employees or item placement. Every employee had to consult their phone and was frustrated with finding the item I was looking for. I suggest they pack up their retail circus and go somewhere where logic and common sense are unheard of. Their prices are good, but shopping in their store is a nightmare. Needless to say every 6 months or so, all their items get re-shelved to another part of the store. Whoever is in charge of setting up this a store is obviously out of touch and does not understand that "NO", I will not buy more items on the way to what I'm looking for just because you randomly space out items to different sections of the store. All pool items need to be in the same section. It's all part of a marketing scam and it will turn away customers eventually. Terrifyingly large. Visited so I could get a 100th anniversary Acadia National Park shirt. Although there was an abundance of Merchandise, it was very difficult to find particular sizes and/or colors. I will also add that I am not a fan of Walmart in general, due to their discriminatory labor practices. read more

Belated shout-out to the helpful employees at the guns & ammo desk and at customer service for helping us track down an air mattress for 4th of July weekend, the air mattress shelves were empty but one employee in particular walked us to a different seasonal aisle he thought might have some, then radioed customer service to ask if any had been returned. No luck, and we were paying for our other items at the checkout when an employee from customer service raced over with an air mattress "Heard you were looking for one of these!" read more

They had empty shelves and empty freezers. Not stocked well at all. They didnt even have gallon ice tea and hardly any selection of frozen dinners. Not what I would consider a super center or even a regular Walmart because of their lack of products in the food section. Didnt shop for anything else so cant comment on that. read more

She simply chose the next white lady who moved up in from of me and said .. "now we have two lines" and SHE is next.......There has NEVR been 2 lines in customer service ...period.. There was ONE line the entire time ..until it was MY turn.. There has been one line in that store in Thomaston every single day since i moved here Jan 1 . She simply lied so that she could wait on the White person first. Even the other employees ( asst, mgr, cash office and Lp and door greeter, _ stated that customer service only has one line ..EVERY body knows that.. Even if there WERE 2 lines, I was there for 20 minutes before the white lady walked l up.. Walmart....the name stirs up so much controversy. However when you're from out of state and need to get some stuff under one roof...this is where you go. There used to be one a little ways up the road but it was small and terrible. They moved it to a larger plot of land, made it even bigger and in my opinion...a hell of a lot better. Definitely a large selection, a grocery section that is quite handy, and if you need it, they have it. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it so stop looking. read more

I went to this Walmart mind you it's the closest Walmart to my house but it's still 45 minutes away from me. I had my cockatiels in a bag for animals and the guy was very rude and told me to leave granted I know you're not supposed to let animals in here but there was no sign saying you can't bring in animals but he's a non-hypoallergenic animal, and he was in a sealed bag had no openings and I wasn't even going for the food I was in the medic area. I've never had a problem before this one interaction at this Walmart, except for workers being rude and disrespectful towards customers most of the time I've been there. But like I said, I know that they're not supposed to let animals in but this was very frustrating because this is the first time I've ever had this problem with people not allowing him in stores and I was not coming from my house to go to this Walmart I wouldn't have brought my bird if I knew I had to go into the store but I'm not going to leave my animal in a cold car. read more

I am a 56 year old woman, an animal was killing my chickens so I wanted a simple lightweight 22 rifle (I have a military background). After I made the purchase, the young kid (who highly recommended this one to me) stated AFTER THE SALE, "if you have jamming issues with this you must contact the manufacturer, you cannot bring it back here." I then asked, "is this a common problem? I'd rather upgrade if necessary?" He said "no, but it's been known to happen." I wholeheartedly believe he KNEW this SAVAGE 22 was not going to load! Once I tried my 22 and learned it would not load in the chamber or shoot, I called 'Al' the 'store manager' today whom also said I "cannot return it or upgrade it." So I'm out over $200.00 for the time being until I waste more of my time figuring out who to call next. This is just SO TYPICAL of WALMART GARBAGE!!! They have probably half the selection on everything the Brewer and Bangor stores have and there's never anyone open to checkout. They have an auto center but can ONLY WORK ON CARS. NO TRUCKS and I'm not talking Semi's. Drove up in my Pickup pulling my Rv trailer, asked one of the mechanics if I could get an oil change. Needed a place to park our motorhome while visiting Acadia National Park and called this Walmart to ask if it was allowed. The person on the phone knew the answer and told us yes right away. After arriving we went inside to grab a couple odds and ends and ran into one of the managers. We asked him where something was and he walked us half way across the store to show us. At our request, he also had a great suggestion for us for dinner - Beal's Lobster. This interaction was beyond expectations and the other employees were helpful and friendly as well. read more

My 54 year old mother was denied purchasing alcohol because I am 20 and when we explained to them that I was not drinking they were very rude and called over multiple managers who failed to help. When we asked them to show us the policy that said they couldn't sell my mother alcohol they conveniently could not find it. They were extremey rude and we will not be returning. read more

This Walmart is terrible! Even though it claims to be a super-Walmart, the selection was miserable. I went in there recently looking to buy plain rubber flip flops...did they have any? No. They had two walls of children's flip-flops that wouldn't begin to go on a my feet, and then they had ONE single pair of hideously ugly Betty Boop flip-flips (which I think were children's, but were at least big enough to fit me), which I bought, because I desperately needed flip-flops for the beach. I was astounded at how such a BIG store could have such a pathetic lack of merchandise. The staff was also very unhelpful. We had to ask multiple different people for things and no one seemed knowledgeable or cared about us at all. read more

I can not say enough how good most of the employees are in this store. I recently started using the pharmacy and Shauna was very kind, helpful, well-informed and patient with me! Throughout the store whenever I can't find something, with one exception, I've been lucky enough to find nice people willing to help. I always find a manager to tell him names of those who went above and beyond because these people should be recognized for the good service they provide- in a store that big and busy it can't be easy............. My negative would be the cheap, thin bags and the long lines because there are not enough cashiers. Still, the good out weighs the bad. read more

Attempted to get some auto work done at this location. Line moved extremely slow with only one computer. Other auto workers refused to answer questions about wait time citing the single computer. After waiting for 20 minutes without help I was told there was 3 hour wait time. Staff was rude and non-personable. Plenty of other automotive garages around with better customer service read more

One of the largest super Walmarts I've visited. This store is a camper's dream. I came in for firewood and some ice with my friends, and we found numerous other useful items, and several others that we wished we had bought here instead, such as hotdog forks, lanterns, a cooler, inflatable sleeping bag mattresses and much much more. read more
