Really confused about what all the "friendly" worker comments are about. This was the most unpleasant, rude and disrespectful interaction I've had in all of Maine. There are other reviews here and on TripAdvisor + Google reviews talking about racist interactions and I 100% agree with this. Walked in with our Hispanic friend and we asked if the lobster was warm or chilled - were immediately told we were stupid for asking and asked to leave immediately. This sounds extreme or exaggerated but it is not, that's what happened. Would never come back and would never ever recommend ANYONE OF COLOR TO EVEN THINK ABOUT ENTERING THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Clam chowder is her mamas recipe cook takes pride in his fresh lobster creations including this tasty roll for $22 that I'd argue was the best roll we had the whole trip. Took a lobster roll and two cups of soup back to the campground for a fireside dinner. read more

Really kind staff with everything you need. I stayed at blackwoods campground and there was a trail that takes you here in 16 minute walk it was really convenient! I bought three meat filled lobsters for 54$ they were delicious. I would definitely recommend stopping by the prices are way cheaper than anything downtown. MUST STOP for a blast from the past.This market is a GEM of a find! If you want friendly town service that makes you feel like you are in a 1950's movie, make this a stop! Super friendly staff. Wonderful cold lobster roll. We had this while sitting outside in their rocking chairs with a bottle of cold Maine Beer. It was a light fresh basil mayo. Very large roll, I might add, longer and much more stuffed than most places, it came with chips about $18. If you don't like basil, you won't like it. I like old traditional, nothing changing the flavor of my lobster, chive or dill would be better but I still enjoyed it a lot and it was different from all the other lobster rolls we have had so that was a bonus. The best HIDDEN secret is the fresh steamed lobsters. We did not buy the dinner, which is very reasonably priced, I might add. We chose to buy the fresh steamed lobster with no sides. It was $12.99 approx per pound. We picked our own live lobsters and the guy behind the counter steamed them and plated ours to go for us. When we got home, we were surprised to find a bib, utensils, melted butter, wipes, a pick to work the meat AND they had scored the claws and the tail. All the hard work was done for us, now we just had to get messy and eat! All in a handy aluminum box, and which served as a garbage container when we were done to contain the mess! PERFECT for a to-go picnic to somewhere with a gorgeous view OR to take home for dinner after a long day touristing the area. Great little stop for a cold drink and a snack, get a fresh steam lobster lunch/dinner or grab a to-go dinner to take and enjoy at home or on a picnic. Little old tiny market sets you back in time. It is the most charming and little town experience. One disclaimer, make sure and slow down and be patient,. the charm of the place, the slowness and old school way of taking care of you is it's charm! Be patient as there were only 2 people working, one the kitchen and one the register. They literally have a lined spiral notebook with their prices in it.... do not be a rushed tourist walking in with a rushed city attitude. You will not appreciate the charm nor the priceless stop on your route. Take it all in and enjoy!!! read more

Must stop for delicious, buttery lobster dinners! The lobsters were cooked to perfection, corn on the cob was yummy as can be, and Cole slaw paired well. The cost of this meal would be much higher elsewhere; the backyard dining with wind chimes, beautiful flowers, bird songs, combined with a rustic little market store right next create a pleasant dining experience that's just eccentric enough and exudes an old-world charm and comfort. We also tried their homemade orange cranberry muffin and it was like everything else: fresh and delicious! The servers/owners were friendly and helpful. This set of Maine-loving tourists will be putting Otter Creek market on our list of favorite haunts in the region. read more

Decided to stop because they had a sign about serving lobster rolls and we were on a quest to try as many different lobster rolls as possible. They had a sign on the door that said their lobster rolls were very highly rated on Trip Advisor. Their lobster rolls suck! They serve them on these huge Kaiser rolls with a giant piece of lettuce. There is so much bread you can't taste the lobster. The lobster rolls we had at McDonalds were better than these. And they are WAY over priced. $18 each, and that is just the roll with no sides. The ladies working there were personable and friendly but we later discovered the lady who made our lobster rolls despises lobster. Maybe that is why the sandwiches were just okay. How can you make a good lobster roll if you hate everything about lobster? The store is cute and I like the antique décor, but never go here for a good lobster roll because you won't get it. read more

Fantastic customer service, and one of the nicest store owners I've had the pleasure of meeting. Good array of camping supplies, and a nice selection of cold beer, including locally made blueberry ale. Normally I'm far too lazy to write a review, but we had such a good experience at this store that I thought I really should. We had a somewhat unfortunate time trying to start a fire in the blackwoods campground after buying wood and a starter log from here. We went back to ask for advice, and he was as confused as we were about why the logs wouldn't stay lit. He gave us another bundle of wood, some of his own kindling, and lighter fluid for free. In the end, it turns out that the supplier of the logs had left them out in the rain, and while they were dry on the outside, internal moisture kept them from burning correctly. We didn't get a fire to stay lit that night, but the store owner refunded our money without us asking, saying he hoped we would be back. We certainly will be if we're on Mount Desert Island again. read more

We visited multiple times throughout our stay in Otter Creek for grocery items or a quick meal and the staff was outrageously rude to us multiple times. Once we stopped for lunch at 11:45 and they told us it wasn't ready, wouldn't be ready for at least an hour, and wouldn't let us place an order to come back for later. The first time we went as soon as we walked in the door the person at the register snapped at us 'I can't take any twenties, if you have twenties I just can't take them.' Never said we needed to pay with a twenty we had a credit card. Horrible service. read more

So very very friendly!! My husband and I had forgotten some parts of our tent and stopped here in hopes they sold tents. They didn't. But that didn't stop the owner from suggesting several places for us to go to find one and even offering to go to his shed to look to see if he had a personal tent for us to borrow. Aside from that, we stopped here almost every day to buy ice and drinks for the road and the employees were always nice and took their time with you. They have great customer service, that's for sure! read more
