We asked for a Utah fishing license and the gent gave us a non resident for Wyoming. The gents demeanor changed quickly and as we tried to explain we needed a utah non resident. We asked him to fix it. He called someone, he said that could fix it. They didn't answer. The gent said didn't know what he could do and asked if we wanted him to keep trying to get ahold of the person that could fix it. With his attitude we firmly said yes. The gent curtly said "how about this, how about I give your money back and you can get the f*ck out of my store" in a cocky demeaning tone of voice. We said yes again. He called someone that could approve a refund and told the person we asked for a non resident from Wyoming and then changed our minds, which we did not. We did get our refund, thank god, but We have never ever been treated in this manner by rips or their employees!!

It's at the base of UT-150, better known as the Mirror Lake Highway, and it's just what you need when you're headed out for an adventure. I've talked about their connection to the highway before (summary: you can buy a $45 annual pass at their service counter) but I need to give them another shoutout. Over the last five years since my second review, I've been in countless times for pre-camp or pre-hike supplies. You know--the things you forget, or the junky things you get just because. I've stopped here for dinner a few times, but if you get there later than about 4pm, the selection of pre-made sandwiches, deli items, etc is pretty slim. And, to be honest, that's one area where I think they can improve. Not just the selection, but the care and quality that goes into those things. I mean, if I had my druthers, I'd stop at a local restaurant for food, but since I often come through town after dinner time on a Friday night after finishing work for the week, I want to get something quick! The magic is also with the gas station in that regard. I almost always fuel up here, even if I already have a nearly full tank. When I head up and out for 4WD adventures, the last thing I want is to have to turn back because of fuel worries. That little gas station just keeps on providing great drinks and a quick fuel. Add that to a grocery store that can help you grab things you may have forgotten (marshmallows!) and you've got a 1-2 punch that preps you for adventure.
