We stayed at…read morethe Holiday Inn Express in Evanston(another review)and asked Weston, the evening clerk at the hotel, where to eat. He recommended the Lincoln Highway Tavern. We walked in at about 9:40 pm. The kitche closes at 10. We wouldn't have been surprised to be turned away, but the wonderful woman covering the bar and kitchen, forties, glasses, dark hair, was very friendly and gracious. She also took excellent care of us, despite really having to hustle. I had the pulled pork tacos and my wife had the teriyaki wings. The tacos(I ordered two)were stuffed with pulled pork that was very tasty, and came with crema, a sweet relish salsa, and cheese(a slight upcharge). My tacos came with tortilla chips that were crispy and well salted. My wife liked her wings. If we're passing through again, we would definitely stay in Evanston and have a meal at Lincoln Highway Tavern.

The onion rings were perfect and delicious... as always the service is on point. Warm greeting, assuring the new arrival they will be take of soon. If you're in the Evanston, WY area & happen to be craving Mexican food, but have little time to…read morespare, you might like Paff's. Well...if you're not my husband, that is...he's still complaining about his rinky dinky tostada for $8 and the non-Mexican mozzarella cheese on top. But since I'm running this Yelp account and not him, I say it was pretty great for a semi-fast food restaurant. The fish tacos tasted fresh. I enjoyed the accompanying sauce. Beans and rice taste better than they looked on the menu. Salsa wasn't bad either. Not much of a kick, but still satisfying. My photo is of half my meal since you couldn't stop me from devouring the first taco even if it was on fire. Road trips make me hungry! What can I say! The Yelp photos show a wall menu - that's no longer the case. It's now booth & menu seating, however, I was pleasantly surprised the food came out in a jiffy so we could get back on the road to finish our 1600 miles. For the sake of peace, I split the ratings difference and gave Paff's 3.5 stars.

We got chips and salsa, a side of queso, an order of 2 street tacos and an order of flautas. Overall the food was average. While the salsa was fresh and flavorful, the queso dip was obviously out of a can, bright orange and tasteless. The street tacos were shredded beef and carnitas; both were served with double-corn tortillas, fresh chopped onion and fresh cilantro, but the meat fillings were bland, and the carnitas were not as crispy as I like. My co-worker had the flautas (rolled and deep-fried tortillas stuffed with meat and cheese) - she said they were ok but a little greasy. I probably would not eat here again, but will say that the menu is large and it could be we just ordered 'wrong'. Our server was very nice, the interior was clean, and I did enjoy the murals painted on the walls too. This place is located in a strip mall just off the highway in Evanston. Very convenient location with plenty of parking.

We were seated at a table in far end of the room. Once seated it's hard to get in and out from the wall seat because the table are pretty close together. I ordered the Spinach, Mushroom and Swiss 4 Egg Omelet. They asked me if I wanted 2 or 4 eggs and I chose 4. As a substitute for the potatoes, I opted to choose the avocado which came as a slice 1/2 of avocado. For my toast option, I chose the single pancake, but could also have chosen a scone. The scone wasn't on the menu as a option, so I missed this when I ordered. My omelet was very flavorful, although a bit dense. I attributed that to the 4 eggs fitting into a 2 egg form factor, but I really don't know that for sure. The avocado was a good complement to the omelet and worked out very well. The pancake was delicious. There was syrup on the table and butter came on the plate. I gobbled it right down and thought that I maybe should have got another one. I have eaten here before when I was in the area, and will likely return again when up here. The busy nature of the restaurant is offset by the good quality food.

This place is attached to the bowling alley and we arrived around 2:30 ish and it did look closed from the street since no one was there at that time but they were indeed open so definitely don't let that sway you. The ladies were friendly and welcoming and we found out they make most all the sauces fresh in house. We opted for the Bacon Jam pizza which was a nice change of pace. Homemade bacon jam, steak, grilled onions and green poblano and corn I believe... it was delicious. We also ordered the pickle fries which were hot and crispy and the homemade ranch really was perfect for them. Thank you Moria and Ashley we wish we would still be around on Thursday to come in again for $1 bowling and to try another pizza, but sadly we were just passing through. We were immediately concerned that the menu had changed pretty considerably when comparing the menu that's currently available on Yelp. We switched our previous decisions as to what we may have ordered, and looked at what was available currently. (They apparently have had a change of ownership/management) We ordered a pepperoni, with olives, mushrooms and fresh garlic. It was a really good pizza! The toppings were generous, and the sauce and cheese were delicious! it was the kind of slice that's difficult to get to your plate without leaving a string of yummy mozzarella that refuses to let get of the pie! The crust was really tasty too. They rub the outer crust with garlic butter for a really nice golden and garlicky finish, and although it was close to being a little too brown on the bottom, it still had a really nice crunch and chewy nature. It was a wonderful way to end the day! The folks at the full bar were very sweet and friendly, as was the bartender/manager/owner/chef (?). We will definitely go out of our way to visit again when driving through, maybe we'll even have time to bowl!
