I had my window down and heard A girl named Jessica being rude to the ("spark bitch") person picking up groceries in the spot next to me. I was anxious when she brought out my pick up order. I was extra kind hoping she wouldn't cuss me like she had the lady next to me. Seeing that she was obviously having a bad day I thanked her for bringing out my groceries. and she threw my groceries in the back of my car, she put canned items on top of my bread, and she was very disrespectful. If you continue to have rude people bringing out my groceries then I will have to take my service somewhere else. The convenience of picking items up on my way home from work that I didn't have to shop for is nice, but if I have to listen to such hostility I'd rather take my business somewhere else. read more

So rude. Not helpful. So very sad. I bought several boxes for packing, and I had failed to get It was obvious I was struggling carrying the boxes and not one employee, I mean not one out of probably 15 who witnessed my struggle, bothered to ask me if I needed help . Finally, as I was checking out over in automotive/garden. There was a basket with a few items in it sitting at the register I asked the checkout woman if I could borrow the basket to take the boxes to my car. She said no I need that basket for my returns and I told her I was struggling and that I would bring the basket back . Reluctantly, she allowed me to use it. I took the boxes to my car and on the way out, the last cashier had a box and told me that I could have it because it was just going to be thrown away. I brought the basket back after unloading my boxes. And I asked the initial cashier if I could tell her something. After she consented to hearing what I had to say, I told her, that if she were to bother to lead with love and generosity and kindness, then she would be able to have the privilege to be a part of a society that restored humanity. I told her that leading with negativity and rudeness will only continue to degrade our society. Of course, she had nothing to say. But it was nice that the last woman in the garden area standing at the door had enough sense to see that I was in need, and she even gave me a box. She didn't have to do that. That was nice. Update: One year later. Just After Christmas 2025. Let me begin by stating that I am a consistent, high-spending customer at this Walmart, averaging well over $1,000 a month. I am also a professional in this community and the mother of a toddler son. During a brief trip for last-minute items, I became distracted and concerned for my child's safety due to the behavior of several individuals in the store--something I will not detail here. Acting out of caution and maternal instinct, I decided it was best to leave the store immediately. At the exit, the receipt checker did not check my receipt and instead engaged me and my toddler in casual conversation while we put on our coats. We then exited the store. Without warning, a very large man--approximately 6'3"--charged toward us. He did not identify himself. He did not speak. He physically advanced on us, reaching toward my toddler. In fear, I pulled my son to my chest and repeatedly said, "Step away from my child. Get away from us." He continued approaching. Only after creating what any parent would reasonably interpret as a threat to my child's safety, did he reach into my cart, grab my son's diaper bag, and pull out a breakfast sausage that had rolled underneath it--an item I had unintentionally failed to notice or pay for amid the chaos and distraction. This was clearly an accident. Instead of calmly identifying himself, explaining the situation, or de-escalating--basic standards of professionalism--this man chose intimidation. His actions caused me to genuinely fear that my child was being taken. No woman should ever have to wonder if her child is about to be kidnapped while leaving a store. I explained repeatedly that it was an accident and explicitly told him that his approach toward women with small children was inappropriate and dangerous. I complied and went with him to the security office, where--unsurprisingly--he found no criminal history, because I am not a criminal. I was shaken, angry, and visibly distressed. Any parent would be. While I was still processing the fear he caused, he chose to escalate further by saying, "Next time you accidentally forget to pay for something, you'll be arrested." That statement alone demonstrates a complete lack of judgment, empathy, and professionalism. Yes, I responded emotionally. Fear will do that. What followed solidified everything: on a later visit--this time without my child, because I no longer felt safe shopping there with him--I was informed by the same man that I was permanently trespassed from the store. This entire situation reflects a disturbing misuse of authority and a complete disregard for how women--especially mothers with young children--should be treated. Power does not excuse intimidation. Size does not excuse silence. A badge does not excuse fear-based enforcement. Professionalism requires communication, restraint, and respect. What I experienced was none of those things! Shame on him and Walmart for employing him and supporting such tactics. read more

It's great that this Walmart tolerates overnight parking in their lot. I spent the night in my Sprinter van in the side by the church, quiet and peaceful. On a weeknight from 9pm until 10pm, it was loud motorcycles, loud gear heads and loud pickup truck rednecks. I don't know if it's Walmart that doesn't care or the local cops that don't care. By 10pm, they'd all buggered off. Inside, the store is tidy and pretty well stocked. They've gone quite deep with the "scan and go", converting half of the register space to self-checkout. I have ordered groceries from this Walmart several times and every time I say I won't do it again. Every time I get produce, bread, eggs and such they are either rotten or smushed. I got blueberries and when I went to wash them I found out that several of them were molded. Now I understand that it is normal to get some produce that may have mold and such, but it shouldn't be as often and they make it. I went to Publix today to get my groceries instead. I got way better deals and the produce was much better. If you need groceries and want to go here, I wouldn't order them online. read more

This store used to be the best Walmart in the area, but it's gone downhill so badly as of late. There is a night time manager named Shawn and some old lady with gray curly hair that treats regular customers like scum of the earth criminals. They wouldn't allow me to return a broken cake pan they sold me a week ago. I have the receipt and everything. They would not let me exchange it either, they literally made me keep this cheap garbage. I would recommend just going a little further to a better store. Publix is nicer with a much friendlier staff that don't treat their customers like garbage. Shop online for anything not food related or go to Target. Anything is better than Shawn and his cronies. read more

I just hate Walmart. I shop here for things I need but can't get anywhere else at decent prices, mostly toiletries, cleaning products, medicines, and some name brand foods. Their veggies are horrible, the deli is expensive, their fish department non-existent, unless you want frozen. The only convenient things are getting everything under one roof, and pick-up service. Pickup service allows me not to have to deal with the absolute hell that is Walmart. I avoid it at all costs. 2 stars just for pickup. read more

Great big nice Walmart. I first visited this Walmart about 13 years ago when George Jones had a " meet and greet" here. I remember the lines being wrapped all around the store. They have good workers here because they keep their shelves stocked with almost no outs. The customer service here is great to say the least. I have never had any problems here. Just wanted to brag on the electronics department. I came to look at the phones and as soon as I walked up I was greeted by Kristopher. He helped me get my phone set up. He had great customer service and it was so quick and easy. I was there maybe 7 minutes and most of that was walking through the store. Before checkout a woman in electronics also paired me with a case that was in my budget. I'm so impressed with the new changes in staff. Last month they forgot $25 of my groceries never did get them or a refund. Then tonight my order was supposed to be delivered between 9-10pm it was 15 minutes late the bleach cleaner was leaking in the bag. I have congestive heart failure and COPD and there was about an inch of bleach cleaner in the bag! I had to call and have them refund the money for the storage bins because WALMART was going to ship them and I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE STORAGE BINS TO BE SHIPPED!!! We went to the auto center twice this week . Once for oil change , which took almost 4 hours which was ok because we were told up front because he had 3 workers call out in one day . Today we came to get 1 tire changed . The women working in the shop said it wouldn't take long that they were starting the car now . An hour later we came to check on it and it wasn't ready , she said it was going to be 20 more minutes . So 50 minutes had gone by we were there for almost 2 hours and my husband asked what was going on and the lady replied "you can give them there key because I'm gonna say something to them if I do it ". Just very poor customer service and obviously she doesn't know how to put on a tire either because everyone knows it takes 30 minutes at most . Or she doesn't know how to tell time . OK it is just Walmart and many people I know won't step foot in one because they think they don't pay employees well. I don't know about that but I see a lot of people of all ages and races working there and most of them are pretty customer oriented. That said, I have to recognize Judy, a, forgive me for saying this.. a senior citizen working in jewelry and watched for excellent customer service. Yesterday, I was looking at watches because the one I bought at WM just two weeks earlier stopped working. I had thrown out the receipt so was just going to buy another one. As I was looking at them, she asked if she could help me and I told her what had happened. She was awesome and said if I can find the identical one on the shelf, she would change it out free of charge. NOT ONLY did she change it out, she took the time to put the watch on my existing turquoise watch band I have had for over 30 years (sentimental value). Now that is customer service. Went to garden center to purchase a wheelbarrow. Management was paged to unlock it from stack. We waited for 45 minutes. A garden manager came grabbed his personal items and left store going home.we even called store to ask for help. We waited 15 more minutes and left. SERIOUS complaints: Concerning the following Locations: 3040 Battlefield Pkwy, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742 AND 2020 Gunbarrel Rd #250, Chattanooga, TN 37421 I purchased a Stanley 122 pc Black Chrome Socket set at the 3040 Battlefield Pkwy, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742 location. Later that evening, upon opening it, the product appeared to be used already and missing the 1/4" driver wrench. I went to the store and requested an exchange. This was no problem according to the night shift manager. However, they did not have any more in stock. She offered a gift card on the spot, but I simply wanted the product I paid for and declined. She said that any Walmart will honor the purchase and I could exchange this damaged product for another at any Walmart that night. Since no money is being refunded this should not be a problem. The nearest Walmart that was open was about 20 minutes away (one way), but I needed to get my wife's car running for her morning commute and needed the socket set to do this. So I drove to the 2020 Gunbarrel Rd #250, Chattanooga, TN 37421 location. I explained the problem, and was told (RUDELY) that she will not refund or exchange the product that night. I will have to come back in the morning. I bought and paid for this product and all I wanted to do was exchange it. No refund, no gift card... just exchange it. THIS IS UNEXCEPTABLE! I will get a total refund in the morning from what used to be my "go to" store 3040 Battlefield Pkwy, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742 and in the future, take my business elsewhere. read more

Was going to give them another chance after nothing but continuous hassles in store and during grocery pick up. So I ordered pick up last week. They were out of my 48 ct k cups so they charged and substituted for a 98 ct. I refused because that was way too expensive and they stopped price matching out of stock items. Simple math, two 24 CT or four 12 CT. Not that difficult! After I refused I was still charged for the coffee that they took back. Had to call customer service. Fast forward to today. One more try, it's been rough and I've been sick, getting over it but still not up to par. Place my order, then three hours later it's cancelled. Email says it was because I exceeded allowed quantity for the entire order. I ordered one of everything in my cart. I can't even buy one toothbrush? One bag of sugar? That exceeded quantity????? Call customer service and was told someone at the store cancelled it. It wasn't due till tomorrow! I am then informed it will take up to ten days for my money to be released from Walmart hold for the online order. Ummm no, no it won't. I have a family and a strict budget and two diabetics in the house. That's forcing us to do without groceries for over a week. Thankfully, my bank has a customer service number that's available later hours. Got my money back. They just lost a loyal customer. They won't get another dime from my family! read more

This location is horrible. The employees are RUDE. I ordered my groceries for pick up and after waiting for 45 minutes, called inside to see where my order was. I was hung up on and ignored. Went to knock on the door where groceries come out and was told to "get the f#%* away from the door" by an employee. When I expressed that I was just looking for my pick up order, I was told they didn't know where it was and I'd have to just leave and call customer service the next day. It turned out they gave my order to someone else and they then refused to reimburse me or re-pick my order. I was never apologized to, I was never called back by customer service, and I never received my order. I was left without groceries for my kids and no money to get any. I will never shop this location again. The customer service was the absolute worst I've ever experienced. read more

OMG! Thiiiiiiis place! I have this year not walked into the walmart in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga without leaving angry. Today was the last straw though. I shop daily for deals on my daughter, me, my husband, and groceries. No savings will ever be worth all the trouble at this walmart. I now am just not using any Walmart for any of my shopping anymore and using Target, Kohls, and Publix. EVERYTIME I have been in there its always something. Here is some examples... I ordered my daughters first birthday cake at the beginning of this year. My husband went to pick it up...they forgot to make it. He had to show up late for his daughters birthday party and the cake was late. Also they didnt thaw the rainbow cake so we had to use white... I have used in store pick up 3 times. Everrrrytime its suppose to be ready today they cant find it and i have to wait a week till it comes in. When i use inventory on the website to just go pick something up they neeeever have it in stock and cant find it. Does that many people steal there?? Or do they suck at inventory?? I put my daughters layway in for Christmas. I went to cancel it to buy part of it because Target had some of it on sale. They tried to charge me $10. She said it was on my receipt. Luckly I had my receipt. There was no where on my receipt stating that and no one warned me before. I was even buying some of it with what i paid on it. The manager refused to help me until I started calling corporate. Then she told her to give me the money. Then walked off. I'm done. I can't deal with this place anymore. read more

This place is huge...it has everything.. a hair salon, kiake lot, phone repair, money center (whatever that is), grocery, pharmacy, optical center, lounge for you to wait in for your online pick up. All this just at the front of the store. I didn't even make it past the health and beauty section which for the size of the store I think beauty could be a little bigger and have more of a selection but that is just my opinion. It seem to be well stocked which is unusual for a walmart...it also was pretty clean from what I saw as well asm organized, our cashier ( I am very sorry I didn't get her name) she was a cute little brunette with long hair was super friendly and she actually bagged everything correctly and it was really great not to have to pay .10 cents a bag or remember to bring your on bags in. Very nice. That was definitely a plus. I can't wait to visit again to see what other surprise there are in the rest of the store. I was totally amazed by the whole place..never seen anything like it. It was a little overwhelming for me and I did get a little panicky when I couldn't find the rest of my party but I just an not used to shopping somewhere so big. And there were so many check out station I did feel a little confused but still was a pretty cool experience for me. read more

I want to give out a WARNING to other shoppers!! On March 29,2020 Went to the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Battlefield Pkwy in Fort Oglethorpe Ga. I was shocked when I heard someone coughing so hard and you could tell mouth wasn't covered and here was an Employee putting up stuff and coughing all over it and NO her mouth covered and I know they have been told how and what to do with this Coronavirus going (COVID19) and she was just coughing really hard not covering her mouth at all so I went and told the head manager and all the manager did was tell her to quit coughing. The employee SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT HOME for not caring or being concerned about customers and even other employees. For now on for me and my family we will just start going to the one on Cummings Hwy may take us longer to travel but I will NOT be back to the Fort Oglethorpe one since they ARE NOT taking COVID19 seriously!!! My mom's friend sister that lives in Fort Oglethorpe is in hospital right now with COVID19.. NO we don't need to panic but use common sense n do the things to try and help keep it from spreading and when a employee of a big establishment should be doing what they have been told and follow the precautions measures too!!!. Decided to give online grocery shopping a try. Unfortunately I live in an area where pick-up and/or delivery aren't available. Fort Oglethorpe isn't too far away so online shopping here I go. The process for groceries was S-I-M-P-L-E!! Headed to pick up my groceries and hit a pothole and ruined my tire and rim. I called the pickup line and explained that I wouldn't be there at my scheduled arrival time. They were super kind and asked if I was ok, then let me know my order was fine until 8pm (I was supposed to be there at 2pm) and to just let them know when I was about 10 minutes away. I called as I was reaching the destination and within a matter of minutes of pulling into a slot 2 young men were out there loading my groceries into the car. They were polite and friendly. One reviewed all of my substitutions and made sure I was ok with the changes, had me sign for my pickup and I was on my way!! Easy Peasy! Made shopping a piece of cake and I will definitely be utilizing this service again (but will be watching out for those evil potholes)! read more

This is about the Deli in the rear corner of the store. We purchased a Rotisserie Chicken today, and when we got ready to prepare it for dinner, the inside was raw, with blood pouring out of it. I returned the raw chicken to the store, where the Customer Service said "Another one!" and called a CSM to notify the deli this was the second returned raw chicken in about 10 seconds. She then refunded me the price of a small chicken, instead of the larger size we paid for. I didn't catch that at the time, but was able to resolve that at the end. I went to the deli and asked for the manager, which I was told was off until tomorrow. I then asked for the lead person for that shift. Of course by now, one deli person speaks up and says, "The chicken is supposed to be red in the middle at the bone." I said "Pink at the bone is one thing, but blood running out of the chicken is another" I went back tot eh CSM, and told her I wanted another chicken, but the person in the deli, without even looking at the one I returned wanted in instigate an argument about what the chicken was, and how it was to be. She called another manager to meet me at the deli, and I took two chickens with me. The manager never showed up, of course! I told the lady that argued with me, "I wanted another chicken, and I wanted her to cut it to check it." She replied, "I just put those out and I know they are done.". I again, asked her to cut it to check before I left the store. She cut it open at the leg and said, "See!" I asked her to "cut it through the breast to the bone, to make certain it was done" She cut into it and there was no blood, not even a sign of anything "Pink" near the bone" I returned to the service desk, where they corrected the price difference. I understand a mistake, but to be so adamantly rude about it and wanting to argue with the customer is unbelievable. read more

I've been going to this Walmart for several years and never have I smelled a foul odor. The bathrooms are not clean, but I've seen worse. I looked at the tires, and the men helped me and were very honest. NTB said I needed new tires, and I had doubts. So I went to Walmart and he measured and said I had at least 5,000 miles left. They told me the price of using the MOBIL 20,000 mile oil change, and it will run about $40.00. Not bad for 20,000 miles or 1 year. They have never refused a return, AND they've matched their site for price. I found a computer mouse on sale online at Walmart for $8.99. In the store it was 19.99. They matched it without question. They'll do the same for any product. Overall, I find them nice and helpful in most departments. The only thing I hate about Walmart is it takes forever to walk around the store. I wish the pharmacy was near the grocery. read more

On a recent visit, I had the misfortune to be in a checkout line for Cashier, Gloria. She was humming gospel songs as she was checking people out. She had a 'bedazzled' box on her bag rotation counter and was giving candy to selected people. She even gave a child candy from her 'personal' stash who was in the isles behind her. When I called the store to complain, the manager, James Scott was not in. I spoke to the assistant manager and asked if she was aware of an employee handing out candy to selected people. Her response was, what is the big deal, what is your problem? I asked her if this was condoned by Walmart, if a child is diabetic, or their parents don't want them to have candy will she take the responsibility or will Walmart back her up? She said she would 'review' the surveillance tapes and 'look' into the situation. People seem to be more aware of 'strangers with candy' around Halloween. read more
