It's so awkward to go into an unfamiliar Walmart. But we did it anyway. My dad had a few things he had to return. We should have known that we were going to be in for an interesting experience here when we pulled into the parking lot. Local law enforcement just happened to be on the scene. We honestly don't know what was going on in here, but there was a big manager presence at the front of the store near customer service. We walked up to return our items and had a bit of a wait as the confusion of what was going on was starting to subside. Once we were acknowledged that we were there it was still a few minutes before we were assisted. The girl that assisted us was very nice, and a bit funny, even if it were a dry wit she had. We went through the motions of the return and when it came to my dad receiving the funds back she gave my dad three choices. Gift card, back on the debit card, or cash. Cash was the option as we all know that it can take a few days for it to return to your account. Throughout the transaction we got to witness a funny exchange between the employees. While all the hubbub was going on with law enforcement an associate came to the counter asking for the cart key. One of the many managers that was dealing with the hubbub was informed by the girl helping us of the need. The manager looked a bit frantic while searching the counter for the said cart key. Exasperated, the manager asked where the cart key would be. The girl, with as much unenthusiastic sarcasm simply replied with, "It's hanging on a hook that says 'cart key'." I think there was a roll of the eyes in there too. I'm not sure. I kind of chuckled to myself until we walked away so I could laugh. I think this is a prime example of how competent some managers are in any given setting. read more

I normally DO NOT come over to this Walmart but the other Walmart was out of the Primo Water to Refill my OWN jugs. I've been doing this since almost November when I bought the Water Machine. Well to be questioned by Bharti (self checkout) that I was doing it wrong (as per HER little machine) and being told to go to the Customer Service for help. There's NO reason for this!! Being made to feel like a thief. I spoke to a Manager telling him that she needed to be retrained. This Walmart is a Supercenter, meaning that it has a full sized grocery section that includes produce and meats and frozen, though I generally don't buy produce or meat from Walmart. They also have a large personal care, clothing, electronics and housewares. I found the store to be a little crowded but well laid out and the shelves were stocked. Associates (the ones I could find) could use a refresher on the ten foot rule. Checking out was easy with two associates working the self-checkout area to ensure people knew which machines to use. read more

He returned to the store and they refused to refund or a store credit due to it being greater than 90 days. Customer Service person was trying to play games about it. Typical Walmart but be cautious in the parking lot. Some strange characters walking around knocking on the car windows asking why your parking your RV and shopping. Needless to say I stayed with the RV while my family shopped for food. While walking the dog, all made sense. Some drug paraphernalia Left in the grass near some cars out in the car lot. Happily, have never had any issues there. We have groceries delivered weekly never a problem. We love folks that deliver. If any item is missing we get credit right that moment we let them know. We understand deficit in many items as people go overboard w/purchases. But it will not cloud our services it's not their fault. Prior we never had problems at all. They handle fast. Same when I'd go to cust service even if I don't have a receipt they credit to my card. Cashiers or on floor never had an issue. I do approach folks with a smile n speak politely as I know they work hard. Being on your feet all day not fun. Sorry if no one agrees but the truth here is the truth. Have a great nite. read more

I don't know who runs/operates this store when it come to ordering food merchandise. I use to love to shop at this location in the past but, for the past 6 months or so, there has been a big decrease in stock. Every time I would go into this store to purchase a food item the shelves are empty. I tried to buy pasta noodles for the past 2 months and had to go to target or Martins to buy what I need. Pasta was not the only item that is consistently empty. I asked employees why and I been told that the new store manager is not ordering items that is needed. Now, me and other friends decided to not shop at this walmart location again. We are able to find what food items we what/need at other locations without issues. I'm a retail store manager and I have to say this place literally is the worst place ever! I waited in line for over 30 minutes because another customer had an issue, it happens, but the reaction of the staff is dumbfounding. As we all patiently waited for the problem to be resolved a supervisor, I assume was walking between the line of people putting away returns and could careless if there was 2 people or 500 people in line - his name is Matthew(yellow vest). After awhile another yellow vest appears and looks angry and mouths off something like why is the line so long then she sent a cashier over to help with the over 20 person line. Needless to say Matthew needs some training on how to react when there's an issue at the register and when he should be calling for a cashier. This place is awful read more

Walmart aka The Washington County Social Club... Rarely not busting at the seams with rednecks. Unless you go at 4am when it's like a zombie movie. Kinda like hell if you want to find quality foods to buy. Never buy produce here! Always a day before the best use by date, if they are not ready rotting/oxidizing. The difference in prices doesn't make it worthwhile visiting for foods etc. but it's saving grace is where else I'll you find security cameras, windshield washing fluid & ammo in a one stop trip? For me the store is worse now than it was a few years ago. I can never find any of the clothes I want in my size which is medium. The sweat pants i like are always out of stock . i went there last night and the 2 clothes and pharmacy items I wanted were not there. The one on the other side of town is better stocked. read more

Shelves are always empty, employees are rude (one young gentleman who works there told me "he wasn't going to be yelled at by any f$#ing customer") I wasn't yelling son and if I had been you would have known it. He was rude to my wife, one of many instances of rudeness we have experienced in this dump. Supposedly they have had management troubles for a couple of years but you would think if that was the case Walmart corporate would have fixed it. This Walmart turned me into a Target customer ago. I went to the bathroom in the front. I was greeted by a powerful stench inside the bathroom. It was horrific and much worse than the normal bathroom smells. The smell was raw feces smeared on the walls and about 1/2" of urine on the floor. I immediately went and got a manager and made sure that he understood what I was telling him. I went and did my shopping and about 1 hour later was leaving. I walked by the same bathroom. The smell told me that the problem wasn't fixed. The scary part was that the bathroom wasn't even closed or any employee there doing anything. That was my last time in Walmart. You don't find that stuff in Target. It's fun to go to Target. Walmart is a task to be completed. read more

Before I start, let me just say, I gave this store two stars, because I have had decent previous experiences. Friendly staff, clean store, etc. However, when I was there last night, around 2am for Black Friday shopping, I ended up disappointed. I went in to buy some clothing for myself for work, and easily found what I needed, no problem. I went to stand in line at the "20 Items or Less" aisle, seeing as I had less than 20 items. I stood in line for about half an hour. The time went by somewhat-quickly because I was having a conversation with this pleasant woman in front of me. She was mentioning that last year on Black Friday, she stood in line at this same store for an hour and a half, with only three people in front of her. In the line next to me, a woman had a cart full of items for her children. The line she was in was the shortest line in the store, yet she hadn't moved in about an hour. There were lines in the store that had at least thirty people waiting to check out. You would think that since it's the busiest shopping day of the year, the store would have at least half of the twenty-something registers open. However, that was not the case. They had only three registers open. If you looked around while standing in line, you could find five or ten employees on their cell phones or with their hands in their pockets. One of the associates blamed the lack of open registers on the fact that a lot of employees got off work at 2am. Which would make sense, had it not been 3am at this time. If you don't have the people to come in and take over the shift, then you need to fix your employee schedule. Do not make your paying customers suffer for your lack of scheduling experience. There is absolutely no reason why there should be only three registers open on Black Friday, and 30 people standing in line just to purchase a few items. I will definitely return to this location, but never EVER again, will I return on Black Friday. read more

I don't really expect much from a Wal-Mart, but this place is the pits. The customer service is non-existent, it's always packed, the lines are long, the customers are rude, and manufacturer coupons have a 50/50 chance of being accepted. Honestly, I just shop at Target. Their prices are about the same, you can find help if you need it and coupons (as long as they pertain to the item and are not expired) are accepted. Plus, they have their own store coupons. I have yet to see a Wal-Mart coupon for an item I buy. read more

As far as Walmarts are concerned, this place is one of the worst in the country. I've gone in only twice and both times there was people screaming and fighting security over shoplifting, AT THE FRONT DOOR! The problems at this store are painfully obvious, theft, rude staff, all at an otherwise filthy store. If you cant find an item your looking for try looking on the floor, and hope that it's not already expired. So in the end don't shop here go to a Target or even a Dollar Tree, just anywhere but here. read more

Absolutely NO electric chairs for the handicapped the last 4 times I went. Nobody would help me to resolve that issue. I cannot walk far because I am in heart failure and I am weak. I had to lean on a push cart and walk very slow and rest every now and then. They see fit also to restock shelves during the busiest times of day on weekends even. That should be done in later hours after business subsides. I like how the store is arranged but that is about it. Cashiers are very slow and half of them don't even know their jobs. Just a horrible place to shop, I avoid it until I cant. read more

We had just drove 300 miles from SW VA on 81 stopped at the McDonald's in the same shopping complex. Came back to the car and tire was totally flat. Now what? No AAA and figured ok time to get a hotel after it takes 2 hours to get Geico service out here. Nope searched for tires online and Bam, Walmart Tire Center right there. They took us in within 15 minutes and found the source of leak, Valve stem and sensor needed tightening. Did everything for free and had us out less than an hour back on our way to NY. Here's a Walmart that I thought was interesting when I went in late today for some small touristy items and some other necessities to replace some others while on vacation. It was clean and the employees were definitely willing to help you find anything you need to find. I asked an employee to help me locate their surge protectors, and he led me right to them. At another time when my brother saw some West Virginia stuff(I believe they were WVU night pants), he asked two nearby employees why a Maryland Walmart would put out some stuff devoted to West Virginia football though we were far away from WV - to which they told him that they put out whatever items this store was sent regardless of other conditions, as bad as it sounds. Meanwhile, I noticed up near the register some touristy items after everything was purchased, but didn't need any of these. While I know this won't be the last time I come through Maryland (I come through Baltimore and Washington on occasion), if I'm ever in the Hagerstown area, I'll stop in again. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THEIR AUTO CENTER. Although employees sounded helpful on the phone ("I only have one car waiting, and a patch will only be $10! Just pull around back and drop off your keys and we'll get right on it!") They were incredibly unhelpful in person. I waited well over an hour to learn that they could not patch the slow leak in my tire and it would require a new tire. This is the part where a normal auto center would say "We can put a new tire on right now for $x, and have you on your way in 15 minutes!" but all I got was vacant stares. I asked for my car keys back so I could go somewhere else. It took them a few minutes to find the keys, then I asked if they had inflated the tire so I could drive it out in relative safely. More stares. "Hey Bob, did you inflate the tire?" "Uhh... Jim, did you inflate the tire?" "No...." "Well, you can pull it around into this bay and we'll inflate it." (The bay in question had another car in it.) No thanks. Went to a gas station down the street with a free, automatic air pump. (Shoutout to Sheetz for having a machine that does better than the employees at Walmart- and I only had to wait a minute or two.) You get what you pay for, and the low prices Walmart loves to advertise do not equal good/competent service. read more

Granted the cashier was friendly, but with over 20 people in line and self checkout closed, this was ridiculous. Can't say enough negative things about how this store is run. Don't ever expect to get any kind of "service" at this store because it doesn't exist. The few employees even able to assist with customer service matters do so like blind cattle without any regard for unique situations that probably call for some policy bending to avoid reviews like this one. I won't bore you with the details but a "Pickup in Store" order that I placed should have resulted in me "picking up" my purchased items "in store" at least by the next day. Never picked up the items because they were going to take a WEEK to come in and 45 days later I had still not been issued a refund. Typical corporate retail hellhole. This store has no soul because the employees have all been brainwashed into thinking the corporate way is the only way. To the employees of this store I say take control of it and cater to the customers the way, I hope to god, some of you know how. Stop bowing to the retail corporate overlords as they clearly don't know what they are doing. I took my Explorer to Walmart for an oil change. After being gone 30 minutes, a tech calls me and tells me to come back because the service is done but they cant get my truck into gear. Its an automatic keep in mind. He asks me on the phone if Ive ever had a problem getting it gear, to which my obvious reply was no. I return to the store, go out to the service bay to get in my vehicle to find the entire shifter handle broken completely off the steering column. So I cant get the keys out, I obviously cant drive it, and in asking what happened, the "manager" says, it broke. OK I bring you a functioning vehicle, you pulled it in to do the service and then in attempting to pull it out, you break the shifter off. My first thought, how hard does one have to pull to break this thing off? What idiot did this? So, 3 weeks later, Im STILL fighting with Walmart about this. The insurance company now wants me to tow it to a garage to get a 'shop report'. Why? To prove they broke it. That's right. The video of that night in the service bay, you guessed it, hasn't appeared. What about this is right or fair? You damage my truck, on your property by one your paid 'techs', and I use that term very loosely. Where is this my fault? Where does this fall under my problem? Why should I incur ANY expense here? Any attorneys out there wanna be a thorn in the side of the all mighty Wal-Mart. Im at a loss here.....Help me understand. read more
