I called up before going in to find out if they had worms so I could go fishing. They said they had them. When I got to sporting goods, the whole fridge was full of empty and opened containers. All the worms had been taken. They just left all these empty containers and containers with just a little bit of dirt inside! When I spoke to an associate, they called for someone to help me at sporting goods, but no one came. When I spoke to management they called for someone, but still no one came. When I spoke to management again, they didn't even know who was supposed to be working at the sporting goods section. At this point, I just left and bought worms at Cabela's like I should have done in the first place. read more

This is a review of their auto department. I took my car in for a flat tire repair, on one tire. The spare tire was currently on and the tire to be fixed was in the trunk. My car was checked in at 12:01 p.m. and completed by 2:11 p.m. While in line at the checkout, in the auto department, I decided to get my reusable bags out my truck for other items I purchased. I discovered they did not put my spare back in the bottom compartment, which is were the original tire was retrieved from. They just sat my spare on top of my items in the trunk. I complained to the manager and asked her why they did not put my spare back correctly. She ask me did I request for them to put the spare back and I said I did not know that was required and if it was in writing. She said no and offered no additional services. I typically go to the Walmart in Country Club Hill for tires services and I will not be back to this location, even though it is closer to my home. I have had my tires replaced in the past by various companies and they have always put the spare back in it's correct place, without any additional instructions. Not only was the wait time ridiculous but at the bare minimum the manager should have offered for her staff to place my spare back correctly after my complaint. Arrived home in Chicago late (little after midnight) and this place was open. Although, Yelp stated the location in Calumet City off Torrence avenue was open 24hrs (NOT); I had to venture a few miles east to Hammond, IN. It's Walmart, what can I say; lol. Well, it was not crowed at all and I was in and out in like 20 minutes. This location isn't 24hrs either (sadly), but the Night staff was courteous and all smiles. I had to grab some fixings to bring my hotel room up to the level of comfort I prefer (pillows, pillow cases, towels, body-wash, plug-in air freshener, etc ...you get the picture. I know I could have chosen a better hotel ...but hey, I didn't expect the place to be that bad. It's my first time staying their and my last too. Do not get your oil changed at the auto center. Ive been sitting in the waiting room for almost an hour and a half now. Its still not done

The old Hammond walmart was always a pain and headache to go to, so when the new one opened, I was excited to get a better experience...that was DEFINITELY not the case. I had the WORST experience I have ever had in any walmart today. Every worker, besides my cashier, was completely rude, even what seemed to be a higher up (manager or lead) showed no interest in helping. I could understand if I was rude myself, demanding or just being loud...nothing but smiles, please, and thank you coming from me and I received nothing but blank stares, slow movement, and a few just walked away from me! I almost got hit twice by workers pushing dollys..bc one had his eyes closed and the other girl felt like she wanted to race to get in front of me. I never felt so invisible in my life. Even after being so nice. The worst part, I just had a baby 2 days ago and needed help putting stuff in my car..and explained that to manager, she said she would try and find someone to help and turned the other way and started talking to someone else. I get my car. Took a few min, waited a few more min, and had to go back in and tell the lady I still needed help. She flags down a kid after another few min. And he drags his feet slowly to the car I said thank you, I really just need help w this dresser. Not one word for him. Then I smiled and said thank you. Nothing but blank stares and sluggishness. And he walked away...almost INTO me! Like wow! If I didn't need the stuff right away for my nb I would have returned it..bc the service was that ridiculous. I feel bad for cabelas and their reputation...now they have this beautiful walmart next to them filled with rude incompetent employees. I can definitely say, the Hammond walmart..was NEVER this bad. Nice store but it is subject to the same restocking problems as all Walmarts. I wanted the smallest container (1 pint I think they are) of milk. Whole milk, 1%, 2%, any of those would have been acceptable. Nope. Nada. Not Deans. Not Prairie Farms. Nothing available at all. Probably all in back since the computers restock based on the inventory. Just not enough staff to bring it out. And no I did not want to ask and wait. Finally ended up buying skim in quart size. Wrong product. Wrong size. Oh, and it was the last one for that item. Typical Walmart. They hammer the managers so much on payroll hours the service sucks. read more

The store itself is okay, its the employees that can ruin a simple shopping trip. Some cashiers will literally carry on a conversation with another coworker before giving any kind of service to a customer, making everybody wait. When I need an employee I can't find one in their area, other times there every where socializing. read more

The Auto Tire and Oil Change section is poorly operated with ZERO ability for the public to reach the department by phone. I sat at my desk multi-tasking for over an hour while completing other items waiting for someone to tell me the price of a synthetic oil change, if I needed an appointment for an oil change etc. A man picked up by call, mumbled something and never came back to talk with me. Finally I spoke with a manager by the name of Lorell who was very nice and professional and shared with me that today is the first day of a new manager for this almost paralyzed truly non-public friendly department. This establishment is a joke when it comes to the Auto Care Center. Each time I stop here for a service on my vehicle there is no one at the desk ready to service customers, when they finally come to the desk they are moving slow as if they could careless if someone has been waiting, they never have workers for a simple oil change, if they do take your car it they tell customers a 4 to 5 hour wait for oil changes. This is a horrible business standard! There is no good management obviously, the workers are lazy as ever! It would be better if they closed the auto care center all together they are a joke. Every time I come to this location for service I have a problem. Put in a complaint about the service I received and got a half ass call back from a manager named Shawn. So, I return the call back the same night and a lazy employee picks up the phone and hangs it up...so I call back and never get an answer. The next day....today...I call and ask for Shawn to be put on hold twice for 5 mins each time, so I call back to speak with the general manager Bonnie. Bonnie gets on the phone acting like she was going to assist with the issue I had in the automotive department and asked me to tell her the situation after already explaining in detail in the e-mail I sent. I reexplained the situation and she tells me to hold on while she looks into the issue with the automotive manage that was right there with her. A BIG LIE!! She puts me on hold and transfers me to the automotive manager who was more clueless than she was. Theresa the automotive manager gets on the phone and has no clue of the situation and again I was asked to reexplain the situation, only to be rudely interrupted with her saying oh yea I know who you are from last night when you left the complaint. THE MANAGERS AND WORKERS HERE ARE LAZY AND INCOMPETENT! NEVER WILL I GIVE THIS STORE MY BUSINESS! CAME FOR A OIL CHANGE AND THE TECH TOOK ONE OF MY GROUNDS TO THE ENGINE A LOOSE I CALL TO LET THEM KNOW AND THEY TREAT THE CUSTOMER LIKE SHIT! Walmart just sucks in general compered to just about every other store I have been to except family dollar, they are just as bad or worse!

They're lucky I'm giving them one star. I called Friday to refill a prescription. The automated response said pick up Sunday. I wanted an earlier time so I pushed the appropriate number and was told Saturday after 1. My husband went to pick up the order around 4 Saturday and was told it was not ready to come back Sunday. Sunday came, he went to pick up the prescription. Again it wasn't ready because they were out of the medicine and it will be ready Tuesday. I hope they're right. It seems they should have known the medicine was out Saturday and told my husband that Saturday. This isn't the first time I've had issues with them. My husband asked if my doctor had called in something for me and was told they didn't know. I'm pretty sure the register is a computer also, they coyly have checked. I know they could've because someone did check on a prescription for me one day. The customer service has really gone Dow from what it used to be. Walmart pharmacy probably doesn't care but after my refill are don I'm going to Walgreens. read more

Is there a way to give zero stars?... I came in today to replace a tire and get an oil change. I brought in my own tire, waited for more than 3 hrs, and once I was called the cashier checked me out...."$193.98," she told me?!! I asked her, "how?" She responded, "you got a tire changed and an oil change right?"....after I explained to her that I brought in my own tire, she called the manager. After the manager came, the manager called the original associate....the associate and the manager argued...and wasted my time. When I asked "what the problem was", the original assoc said she had to "re-ring it all up"....30 to 45 mins I walked out later. I thought everything was fine from there, but no....Walmart is suppose to run checks and replace the air in all tires. Please see my pictures, whoever worked on my car was supposed to put 35 psi in all my tires but all I got was 40 psi in my new tire, 30 in two more, and 29 in the last... worst service ever!! read more

Site to store at this location is ridiculous. Waiting in line with one person dealing with a line of 15 people. After greeting you, she has to go to back of store to retrieve your items. Whole process seems to take 15-20 minutes per customer. Went to find a manager and when I found one she told me she could not help because she was off the clock. My mom was asked to order my wedding shower cake from a Walmart bakery since they are able to scan photos onto the frosting. Hammond is the closest Walmart so we chose to order from there. First they said they cant print images onto frosting. Then another person said yes they do. My mom went ahead and ordered a cake with blue frosting (if possible) with blue and white roses and blue wording. Both my mom and I call the bakery to confirm the order two days before the pick up date. I called three times and was on the phone for 7 or 8 minutes each time, being bounced around from department to department waiting for the bakery to pick up. My mom called and was on hold as well. We never got through. My mom called again the following day and asked for the store manager after being on hold and being hung up on twice. The manager confirmed her order and stated it was actually ready to be picked up. BUT the order was wrong. The only thing they got right was our image. Everything was white. Ok, I get it. I figured they wouldn't be able to do blue frosting but they are able to do blue roses and blue wording. They didnt do that. The wording was white and very poorly written on the cake. You cant even see it unless you're up close. Then my mom asked if they could at least rewrite the wording in blue and they said they couldn't do that. Then they gave my mom gold sprinkles and pearls to try to decorate it at home. Crazy!! I know they're not a real bakery, but come on. I'm sure I could scrape off the white wording and rewrite it myself and it would look better. My mom basically left in tears because they didnt do what they promised to do and now theres no time to order from another bakery. Now we will see if the cake is actually even the correct flavor and if it's really frosted with whipped cream. At this point, I really doubt it. HORRIBLE BAKERY! I ordered cupcakes for my son's birthday over the phone. Asked for the Dino theme I saw online & the girl says "We don't got that". Since his birthday was a few days away I ordered anyway. When I arrived to pick them up the girl taking orders seemed to be irritated that the customers there had questions. As I stood there waiting I saw the decoration book and guess what, they had a Dino design. She finally brings my order, doesn't check to see if it's correct just hands it to me and a receipt and walks away. Get all the way home and there's butter cream frosting and not the whipped cream I requested. So I called but was placed on hold never to be answered. First and ABSOLUTE last time here!
