I guess I'll be the first to write a review of this new Walmart. Overall this Walmart needs a lot of improvement but it IS fairly new so I'll cut it some slack. PROS- It's 5 minutes from my home. This is a HUGE plus because before, the closest Walmart was the one off of Shaver. It is not as big as other Walmarts but still has most of the amenities. The corn tortillas made in store are really good and decently priced, go check them out! They put great $1 deals by the Self Checkout and also good deals on bakery items by the dairy department Parking is easy, I usually park on the side by Taqueria Arandas. Helps me avoid the ongoing traffic of pedestrians. CONS- Took them forever to get their liquor permit, which was an inconvenience back then. They're not open 24hrs (but idk how good of an idea that would be given the neighborhood......) Their self check outs are enclosed in a tiny space, and since they lack cashiers, customers go to tbe SCO and it forms a long line OUTSIDE the box. Their seasonal section isn't too organized. No machine by pharmacy to check blood pressure. ****CAN'T TAKE OUT COSMETICS FROM COSMETICS DEPARTMENT. HAVE TO PAY IN THAT LITTLE CASH REGISTER**** Seriously HUGE inconvinience because I usually shop for toothpaste, shampoo etc first and therefor cosmetics since its next to that. I dont want to pay right then and there! (Esp one time I went for just one 99¢ lipstick and had to pay....) Flour tortillas, if done by the wrong lady, will stick together and the whole pack will be useless. Makes me so mad! But the ones I can unstick without ripping are tasty. If you exit on any of the exits on the front, you can only turn right towards Lawndale. If you want to get back on i-45 you have to go around the walmart towards Taqueria Arandas and exit there. They don't carry chocolate Reddi Whip.... read more

Arriving it was fine until I was notified some of my items weren't available which is normal during these times so I wasn't shocked, but I was shocked they didn't even try to substitute anything!Also I asked which items were missing and the guy totally blanked. After receiving my items and as I was unloading them, I noticed I got a lot of doubles, which is a slight plus, but also all my cold stuff was slightly warm, I only live 10 minutes away, and also my frozen stuff was nearly thawed out! slowest service at any walmart i've been to, I went to get my oil changed and when I go inside the guy tells me he can't help me because he's just a cashier so i'm told to go outside and wait for the guys that change oil. I wait about 20mins and everyone just looks past me not one person stops to ask what I need. Today I bought a shark vacuum that looked like it was returned.I still got it for $150 full price and when I went home a piece of the vacuum was damaged.It's like why would they put a damaged vacuum back on the shelf.Smh Then have the nerve to sell it full price.I bought a returned luring from target and got it cheaper and it was not damaged.Then when u call customer service nobody freaking answers.Smh I'll just stick going to the Walmart on Yale. read more

The pharmacy is very busy especially after 4 when most of us are coming home from work. The staff is always friendly no matter how crazy it seems. Today has been an amazing experience. I am not insured and my medication was going to cost me almost $100. No questions asked, I was going to pay because I need it. Absolutely horrendous. Had an emergency so I had to come at ten at night. To my astonishment there are HUNDREDS of people in line, self check out is closed, and there are zero 15 items or less lanes open. If I could give them no stars I would. I purchased 4 brand new tires online and got them delivered to the store. Visited the store to install the tires and was told at 5:30pm that they couldn't install them because they only had 2 workers. I went back the next day the lady at the counter in the auto department kept trying to call pick up to bring the tires to the back for 20 mins and they never answered. I walked to the pick up myself. Came back and was told that their equipment was only for 19 inch wheels and there was a possibility they could not do my 20 inch wheels. I asked if they could use the wheel I had in my trunk to check if they could install the new tire. The manager to automotive stated to me she would check when my time came the wait was 2 hours and if they could not change it I would have to go else where. Booked a pick up time for disabled person. Department was closed. I was told I would have to wait for an hour. I received a notification saying my order was ready for pick up. I was told by Judy that she was a manager. She was very rude and said it was nothing she could do. I thought the time was good because I am in the vulnerable population and this was an option. This is the second time the website gives a time for special populations that I tried to use this service. This is not a good situation. This place is terrible!! Every time I go there I get treated with such disrespect. They make me so mad!! Ordered one hour photo pictures that were never made. They told me to come back the next day so I did (I really needed these pictures) then once developed they were refusing to give them to me when they were right in front of my face because there was a life touch logo in the corner of one. Luckily I had already paid for them ( it was an online order) so they gave them to me. I considered grabbing the pictures and making a run for it but then was reminded how much I don't want to go to jail. Just went again to get an oil change. No one would come talk to me at my car so I left the door open and walked into the auto car center only to get yelled at 'can't leave your car.' I replied just trying to talk to someone. So I went back to my car only to be told that they can't do my oil change. Great. Why did I ever come back here!! Every other auto care place greets you at your car with a smile. I understand that you can't do my oil change bc I have a Volkswagen but please treat me with respect and please do not yell at me because you think I'm just going to abandon my car at your service center. My all time grocery / department store I love the fact they stay open 24 hours. It's close to my home and I'm able too get their in like five minutes. Although I haven't been in awhile yesterday I went too get a wall plugin scent freshener for my home I couldn't find it so I went to one of the employees. He immediately helped me and was very patient with me until we found the item. I believe his name was Andrew great customer service and really appreciate it very much, As well as when I got to the checkout lane the customers were friendly we made conversation until everyone was next. As I got to the front of the line I just wish the cashier was a bit friendly and made conversation other than that it was nice.I'll definitely be going here for further needs. read more

Walmart is Walmart. The advantage is low prices and a large selection. This store was well-maintained. Since our visit was early in the day, we probably benefited from overnight restocking and cleanup. Employees restocking shelves were friendly and helpful. Our cashier was efficient and pleasant. The greeter/security person at the door (the one with the vest) was a young lady who had a mean scowl on her face. I smiled at her to try to break the scowl, but to no avail. Why put the mean one at be door? Not exactly welcoming. The other issue was cart maintenance. We finally gave up on a cart as all the ones we tried either had a locked wheel or a bad noise. We'll come back because of convenience near UH and good prices. read more

I went to the auto center to get an oil change. When I drove up a worker asked what I needed. I told him an oil change and he said "uhhh an oil change? It will be like an hour." I said that's fine I'll wait. Then he came to my car and basically told me that I shouldn't get my oil changed at Walmart because their oil isn't good for my 2019 Jeep. Terrible. Ordered some shelves from walmart.com. for in store pickup from this location. I first called corporate and they confirmed they were delivered to this store. I called this store and was on hold for 4 times with the same operator and nobody even as much as tried to get me to the correct person. I asked to speak with a manager multiple times and I was not transferred to anybody else. When someone else finally answered the phone (not sure if a manager or not) they also did not attempt to answer my question then they hung up on me. During this entire time I was able to drive to the store and talk to them in person. At this time they finally confirmed that my order which was supposed to be available for pick up was not available for pick up so not only did I waste an hour on the phone, I also wasted my time and energy driving to the store to pick up my items. Please avoid this Wal-Mart if possible. read more

walmart itself is alright, but the Auto dept is HORRIBLE. i wouldn't take my bicycle there for repair. Took my car in at 10:45 AM on a Friday morning to get a standard oil change and before I signed up, i asked how long the wait for an oil change would be and was told an hour. SO after an hour i went back there to check on the status of my car, and it was still sitting in the same spot i had parked it in. Now i know for a fact it wasn't busy when i dropped it off, so i asked the guy what was taking so long and he claims that they were putting my car in next and that they were trying out a new system. ok so i wait..and wait. and FINALLY an hour and half later, they finish. for an oil change. I went to this Walmart and witnessed a guy with his phone on the floor kicking it forward with his foot to either record or take a picture underneath a woman's dress! I told workers and they did NOTHING. He even walked out of the store while I was talking to an employee and the alarm sounded but they let him continue out and the manager told the associate helping me they would look into it. Went to get oil change at 11am went inside was told to go back outside and wait in a line to be helped. 2 people were in front of me. They would not allow us to stand in the shade cause it was to close to the bays where they park cars. Waited 20mins in the hot ass sun!!!!! I was next to be helped and the girl was inside. I kept waiting. She came back out and went and helped a woman who had just pulled up. I said F this. I'm not standing in this hot ass sun to give you $40 and my business. I ordered something online and received and e-mail from Fedex that it had arrived and when I arrived at Walmart the rude cashier told me it handy arrived yet, after speaking with the rude Manager, calling Fedex again and waiting for 1 hour it turns out it was there all along!!! Worst Walmart I've ever been to. I ordered a wii game online and it said that I could pick up the game for free in this store the next day at 10am. Which was what I needed because I bought the game for my niece who's birthday party was 3 days away. So I show up to the store at 7pm that next day and the girl (who was very nice and helpful and the only positive I had during this experience) couldn't even find my order in her system yet my email said it was ready...so I waited for probably 20-30mins while she tried to figure out where my order possibly was. She even had to call Corporate Walmart to get some help. She finds out from Corporate that the wii game is actually not ready for pick up. So she tells me that whoever worked the night before didn't prepare my order like they were supposed to so my wii game was in the store but just wasn't prepared for me to pick it up. She then said I could go to electronics to try to find it if I wanted. So I walk back to electronics and ask the guy about my wii game and he says "oh yeah, the online order workers came back here last night looking for that wii game but I told them we didn't carry it in the store.".....so WHY wasn't I informed of this?? And WHY does my email say my order is ready when it isn't even in the damn store?? And WHY didn't these workers AT LEAST communicate that in someway to the girl who was helping me to begin with?? And then he says "but you can order it and get it delivered by next Thursday" .....HA. Absolutely ridiculous. I cancelled that order so fast and go my money back. The worst customer service I've ever encountered, honestly. Long story short DO NOT order online at Walmart period. And especially AVOID this Walmart at all costs. read more

shitty experience got panhandled by a guy in the ladies clothing department wanting $3 "cuz his car broke down" Got upset with him for panhandling inside the store... We exchanged words... I told an employee that there was a guy bugging people in the store for money He yelled racial slurs at me and then apparently must have gone and told the security guard that WE were soliciting..so we got trailed by the security guard who told us that "several customers" had been complaining that we were "soliciting", when we had only been in there for a very brief amount of time to buy some small items...I felt as tho we were being profiled by the security guard when we were not the ones harassing customers...The entire episode had me depressed to the point that I couldn't function very well for several hours afterwards, and I fear going back to the Wal Mart in chance of having to face that man again. He was not homeless looking, just a normal guy in the store...The old lady at the checkout said that a similar episode had happened with some other customers earlier that day..unless she was referring to our particular episode even tho it had just happened... read more

If you want to be treated like a criminal despite the fact that you dress well and you just checked out from the self check out where the attendant checked your ID and saw you pay, shop here. The exit to the store is not ten feet away and both myself and my boyfriend were verbally harassed by the greeter to show our receipt despite the fact that she just watched us walk out of self check out ,past the attendant, with receipt in hand. I don't know whether that woman was on a power trip or if she just doesn't like the sight of a hispanic woman with an anglo man but as this is not the first time this has happened, we will be contacting Walmart and going out of our way to shop at a competing store that knows the value of customer service. As if it wasn't bad enough that we had to wait long enough in line for our beer to get warm, we're treated like criminals and they get a parking security vehicle to stand in front of our car until the guy who checked the bf's ID came out and waved him on. I guess this Walmart hasn't heard that most shrinkage is due to internal loss, if you know what I mean. Thank you for ruining movie night. If I hadn't been in dire need of keeping our young pet hens from flying out of their brooder(we're looking forward to our own better-than-organic fresh eggs in September) and this hadn't been the only nearby store open that sold plant netting, I would have skipped this trip based on previous bad experiences. This Walmart needs to adapt to serve a clientele that is used to being treated well at establishments that want their dollars. If you're used to, "Have a nice day miss/m'am/sir," when you leave a store, you won't like the way they treat you here. read more

People are friendly. The store seem tidy and organized. Self checkout was busy, out of bags, had machine issues, and tech took longer to come, but she had other issues she was working on. The parking is pretty tight. Minor issues, but no big deal. Some annoying people seeking attention in the aisles. read more

They are short staffed. There is potential for delay. But their staff are patient and extremely helpful. In particular, I want to mention Maria, an assistant manager and Matthew for helping with my battery exchange yesterday. They were extremely helpful and patient. They dug into a problem and found an answer, when they could have easily tried to push me out the door. Well done! read more
