Management chronically treats customers poorly. I have repeatedly demanded that they open more than one single register at 8:30 pm. At that time, as many as 9 customers with full carts have to stand and wait while one over-worked, under-paid cashier struggles with the work load and the customers are forced to wait. If you speak up and DEMAND to see a manager, when the manager finally shows up, he or she will suddenly open three registers! Funny how that works. The employees and lower-end managers ALL repeat the exact same story: Upper management schedules as few cashiers as possible causing customers to wait up to 25 minutes to pay for their items. Some of the upper store managers are bald-faced liars who pretend not to know that there is a chronic issue with under-staffed cash registers. (That, in fact, is the major complaint for the Hudson Walmart and several other Walmarts! So, upper management is fully aware of how they force their customers to wait unreasonably at the checkout registers. Never, never allow a manager to tell you that it is a one-time or rare incident. No. Under staffing the checkout registers is CHRONIC and deliberate.) I will gladly pay the slightly extra on SOME items and shop from now on at Target. There are two Target stores at each end of Marlborough. The Hudson Walmart has repeatedly lost customers because it refuses to staff the registers with enough cashiers to keep the lines moving reasonably quick. No one expects ALL the registers to be staffed. But one single cashier working alone time after time at 8:30 pm is management's way of crapping on its own customers!!!! The district manager is Donna Dunn-Greenwood. She is the cause of the deplorable staffing. Call her regularly and demand better service. She lives in Chelmsford but works out of the Walmart north of Boston. She needs to realize that the most important person at Walmart is the CUSTOMER who has his wallet out ready to pay for his itens. You don't force the customer to wait excessively long periods when he is paying your paycheck, Donna Dunn-Greenwood. I have given up on this Walmart. I trade more and more often at Target. Target is cleaner, the employees are on the ball, and the stores are well staffed. Walmart is all about profit at the expense of the customer. I won't bother returning to Walmart again. I went in to the Hudson Walmart for the second time in 2 weeks because of a battery I bought from them 6 months ago, "the battery is brand new supposedly" first time I brought it in they said wow the battery was totally dead and that they never usually get them in that dead, they charge it,it works for 15 minutes I parked my truck and went to start it and nothing. I took my truck to my mechanic thinking there was something draining the battery he ran the test and nothing was wrong with the truck it was a bad battery. I brought the battery back to Walmart to exchange thinking that they would honor there 2 year warranty on the battery being this is the second time they tested it, but no because there machine said it's good. I ask for a manager and they send out this guy Frank who said I'm sorry the battery tested ok we can't honor your warranty, all I'm asking is to switch out my battery just to give me piece of mind since it's under warranty and a huge company like Walmart can't even swap a 100 dollar battery just to satisfy a customer. read more

PHARMACY Pharmacist, Marc Lemoine - 7pm - 2/19/13 My 86 yo mom did not receive her mail order prescription. Marc stopped what he was doing, and called her insurance carrier to obtain an overrride for an immediate refill in front of me, at the moment I arrived. Like other people have said...it's Walmart. Don't go in expecting Macy's. That being said, I go there somewhat regularly because it is convenient and cheap. Major problem for me at this location is the customers...they are DISGUSTING. They unseal cosmetics to try them on and then put them back on the shelf. Very unsanitary. Have also found open packages of stickers, labels and paper where someone has removed several sheets and put the rest back. My advice is to check your packaging and safety seals before buying anything here. Personally, I won't buy certain items from here anymore. I sent a complaint email six months ago suggesting they offer testers since this is an ongoing problem: either that or hire more staff. Still haven't heard back...not even an acknowledgement that I sent the email. Terrible customer service. read more

Anyone that actually lives in Hudson knows to avoid this store. Extremely low work ethic among employees. Worst customer service desk I've ever seen. The website is completely inaccurate for availability. How the manager of this store has a job boggles the mind ! It's very clean here unlike many walmarts. It's not cruddy either. They have really good produce here. I can always count on getting my raspberries and blueberries here. They have the best in my opinion and they aren't super expensive! read more

I've been going here since it opened almost and yes, I know it's a wal-mart. It's never been the neatest or most well stocked place. But they always made that up by offering the best prices on a lot of things. Lately though the price gap has been closing and they seem to have cut down checkout staff to miniscule levels, to the the point where I've had to wait 15-30 minutes in line because they only have one register open and there's 6-7 people ahead of me. And they don't see the huge line and decide to call someone up from the back and open another register. They just let you wait. Is it really going to cut your profit margins THAT much to hire 1-2 more people at 8 bucks an hour to keep customers moving at a decent speed? It's gotten to the point where I only go once a month to pick up the few things I can't get elsewhere for close to the same price. I do all my regular shopping at the Marlborough pricechopper. read more

Not comparing against other stores. One of the best Walmart's in the area. I understand the poor reviews. I do think it is understaffed and shelving is not that great. However, I am impressed by variety of items they sell. It has a proper bakery, diary, a very good section for fruits and vegetables etc. Much better than Framingham Walmart that I used to go. Bigger too. It has a lot of potential for improvement. I was not satisfied with the selection for basic items - cereals for example. Looked understocked. read more

I called and spoke with a Customer Service associate this evening. I had recycled a bunch of plastic bags in the recycle bin for plastic bags. I believe I mistakenly left a pair of shorts, that I was going to return to another store, in one of the bags. I was pleasantly surprised to know that she was going to check the bin for me. Unfortunately, after waiting on the phone for over 16 minutes, I decided to hang up and call back. The same woman answered and she apologized for not coming back and informing me that she did not finding them. I don't want to come across as ungrateful, but how could you not remember to simply let a customer know, if you just dug thru a bin of pladtic bags for them? I have to remember that it's my own mistake, and after all it is Walmart. To end on a positive note, the women in the Bakery department are always very kind to my two year old son and I, whenever we are shopping. They always ask permission first, before offering him a cookie. It's simple acts of kindness that make a big difference. read more

Rarely do I shop at Walmart but if I do, it's for a few select items as they tend to be cheaper than other places. I went in there today for pet products. I got charged twice for cat food and only got one bag. I noticed this on my receipt once I got in my car. I ran back in the store and let my cashier know. She apologized and said customer service will take care of it. Well, the lady I had a customer service looked like everybody in the world was annoying her or she was working with a sharp tack in her butt. Rude! She didn't even greet me, she never smiled, she didn't even thank me. NOTHING! She let out a sigh when I told her I got charged twice. Also, sadly, this Walmart always just feels/looks so dirty. The store, itself, is decent, but the customer service is quite awful. I called and asked if they had a certain dvd in stock and the immediate response from the electronic deparment was simply "I don't know". and was left to fend for myself. No effort to check. Nothing. I will stick with Amazon and Target. As long as I have lived in Hudson and I remember this store opening I have avoided it like the plague for years especially since it became a Super Center. I figured I would try the online order/pickup option that way I only had to venture 20 feet into that disaster. I placed the order using the app and all the items were supposedly in stock and I changed my order to make sure everything was in stock. After submitting payment I was informed that I would be able to ;pickup no later than 8 pm which never happened. I got an email later last night that the order was delayed.. No kidding.. ... Today I got the email "Great News your order is here". No, only 1 item was there and everything else shipped. Shipped where? Nobody in the store could tell me. Might be to my house or might be to the store. Prices are great I will give them that but not worth it to me. . read more

I previously was employed here way back when, and never got a legitimate schedule I was an "on call" employee, and was told I was not allowed to get a true schedule. This was a huge turn off, despite the fact the employees I worked with were very pleasant. Time goes on and most of them do not work there anymore and I do not blame them, ever since this Walmart got the grocery section, it shows that's the only section they truly care about. Every time I visit this store, there are always pallets of merchandise and boxes stacked in the middle of the aisles, and it is just an eyesore for any customer to see. The shelves are ransacked and cluttered with all types of merchandise. I do like the concept of Walmart as a whole, with the really low prices, I can't argue that there's really no competition there. Furthermore, I have no clue why they brought back the fish section, when they first had it no one cared or took care of the fish, and even today they don't. I believe PETA or the ASPCA needs to step in, they have some fish in incorrect tanks with certain breeds of fish, and no one cleans out the tanks when some fish have ick / Ichthyophthirius multifiliis (a common disease of freshwater fish) or have even died. It is unsanitary for the other fish, and that is very unappealing especially when you have young kids going to pick out a pet, I rather not explain to them why they're the way the are. read more

I was looking for a birthday present for my grandsons first birthday. I looked online and saw that if you picked it up in the store the price would be cheaper. So it showed you a list of where the item would be available. The store that was closest to me was the location in Hudson ma. So it said if I ordered it it would be available end of that day for pickup or the next day. So I said great I ordered it no email at end of day saying it's ready for pickup or the next day either. I got an email telling me it would be available in 3-5 business days. So I did an online chat with their customer service and asked them why. They told me that the item was on backorder and that's why. I said why didn't it tell you that before you placed the order and paid for it only after and the next day. Obviously they knew this item was on backorder so they falsely stated it was available at these specific locations for pickup knowing it was not. I will never order anything from them again online or for pickup in store. So very misleading. So buyer beware if they say it's available for pickup in store as it's probably not and they're just trying to get you to purchase it only to find out after you pay for it it's on backorder.
