First off, I do not shop here often, but my sister lives right next the place and it's convenient at times. Every time I've been in this particular store, I feel like the staff purposely ignores me. Where is the customer service here? The employees either ignore you the whole time and almost seem like they're going out of their way to avoid you, or they're very rude when they finally do have to stop talking amongst themselves and help you out. The most worst service ever is this Walmart on 42 in Indio ca. The pickup for groceries and express is the. Worst here you will wait all day for your order to be ready. I sent third party drivers to pick my order and staff always tell them to cancel the orders because they have allot and they don't. Want To do it. You have orders so pick up the pace, do your job and fulfill them. Walmart workers workers are so neglectful when u click here for pickup your outside waiting in your car they take half an hour just to come and talk to you. I see workers talking to each other and laughing. This isn't the first time either, they always do this when I order for pickup and people next to me always complain to them and they just laugh it off be wise they don't care. read more

I like this store because it's close to my house but I hate the lawn and garden section. The workers there are rude and grouchy. Not friendly at all, Jose that works there is the worst. If you have more than 20 items in your basket and are buying stuff from the lawn and garden section they expect you to pay in front and and lawn and garden.. they need more checkers in that area and people that are glad to have a job. read more

I was searching for a product that the website said was in stock at the Indio and La Quinta stores. I gave my husband a print out of the item and asked him to buy it while I was at work. Apparently, at the La Quinta store my husband showed the picture to an employee who basically took a wild guess as to where the item was (detergent aisle) and because their wild guess was nowhere near where it actually was (home section near closet organizers) he didn't find it. When he picked me up he said that the La Quinta store didn't have the product, so I asked him to take me to the Indio store. Mikey in electronics was extremely helpful. Instead of taking a wild guess he took the time to look it up and point me in the right direction. Thank you, Mikey! I appreciate the professional and efficient way in which you helped me. read more

This store use to be great when It first opened. Now this store has been declining over time. It has been very dis-organized not stock every time we go get something they're sold out. We asked employee's if they're going to start restock again they tell us the shipments are coming in tomorrow but we can't guarantee it's going to be there. Recently there shelf's are like there's an emergency earthquake going on and everyone scrambled to clear the shelves. The last few times we did the pick up for the groceries there's been items not accountable because they ran out. If they know they're selling out of stuff why don't they over order on those certain items that's called good management that will be doing hospitality. so now we're going to Winco and grocery stores. read more

I never used to visit Walmart when I lived in the San Gabriel Valley. Now that I relocated to the Coachella Valley, I find myself at this Walmart at least twice a week making grocery purchases. They have great prices on pineapples, and the workers are readily available when the self-check out scanner has a hiccup. read more

Worst place ever. The store was not even closed and the man would not allow me to purchase a cosmetic item I needed. He was lazy and did not even make a effort to help just saying the section was closed when the product I needed was right on the edge. Found exactly what I was looking for (Raiders T shirt) in a matter of minutes, and this is a good place to walk around and shop a little when I drive from AZ to CA. Clean, efficient, and orderly... As Walmart's go, this store is okay. It's packed full of merchandise, good prices. I do have a complaint. I went to the fitting room to try on some clothes. There were two young ladies at the door, both of whom completely ignored me. I stood several minutes while they chatted, finally had to ask them to please open a door. I was also ignored on another occasion, at the self check registers. Two young ladies chatting, completely ignored me. I could have walked out with a television without paying for it and they wouldn't have noticed or cared. I will say a couple other employees actually smiled and said good morning. I know it's Walmart and people will go there, I prefer Target. Because Target cares about good customer service. I'm going to be honest Walmart is not my favorite place but the new super center in Indio has surprisingly changed my mind...I've been here a few times now and I save a good deal of money for a lot of groceries. Today I ran in for ground turkey and I love that they carry the family size portion of Jenny-o which makes it convenient for meal prep for the week. The self check out lines are always free so use them when you have a quick purchase. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Now that's my kind of shopping. I do want to let you know that I only buy groceries here so if you wonder thru the store it may take you longer than 10 minutes. Enjoy read more

This Walmart is brand spankin new. The employees are very nice and always ask if you are finding everything okay. The store is clean and friendly. Many check stands open and they have self checkout as well. Prices are always good, i believe they are open 24 hours for you night shoppers. Told by deli they could make a fresh chicken Caesar wrap and to give them 15 minutes to prepare it. Came by 30 minutes later and we were told that they paged us and would not be able to make it although the girl asked her co-worker to begin with and it would be fine. Nothing like having to straddle the stool just to close the door like at other walmart stores. I am a regular customer, but today my fiancee and I were really offended. We bought a few things for our new place and I decided to buy a 6 pack for myself. I understand we look really young, I'm 25 and she is 23, but we still deserve to be treated with common courtesy. The cashier (Savannah) asked for my ID, which I had no problem providing, but also asked for my fiancee's. I explained she left it at home and that she hasnt even touched this case of alcohol and won't be at all. Savannah replied "it doesn't matter, she needs her ID" as she began to take the 6pack away. I asked to speak to a manager. There was one nearby the registers. Her name was Lorrie, (unsure of correct spelling) her title was "Support Manager". I explained that the alcohol was for me and that the alcohol has been in my possession the entire time and will stay in my possession. Laury replied with the same comment "it doesn't matter she needs her ID and I can't let you have this". I curiously asked "since when has this policy been going on?" Because my fiancee and I shop here all the time. Laury replied "it always has" and she snatched the 6pack away and walked off without any explanation or apology. I understand policies must be kept in force and maybe these employees don't specialize in customer service, but how about a little common courtesy? Atleast a "hello" or "thank you" would be nice. My fiancee and I have never had a problem like this at any store and we shop here all the time. I know we look young, but we deserve to be treated equally regardless of our age. I just had the worst experience at Walmart. I purchased two slips for my mother inlaw a few weeks ago and lost the receipt. Went to return them. The sign states we will happily refund or exchange within 90 days....with or without the receipt...They did not. I was told I had to exchange, so I found one of the slips but they did not have the other one in the size we needed. So, basically I was told I HAVE to exchange the EXACT same product. I cannot get a refund. If this is their NEW POLICY then they need to take down their signs with their OLD POLICY. I shop at Wal-Mart a lot and I am visiting the area and I went into this Walmart and spent $100 but I returned $76 of it. I bought a cordless drill and I got home and the box had been opened and taped shut. When I opened it the battery charger was missing. I bought some chocolate cookies and the chocolate had turned brown. I bought 2 bras, same style, and when I got home they were not the size listed and 1 was not even the same style as shown on the box. I should have returned the 3 bags of popcorn, I buy this brand a lot and it is good but the 3 bags I bought here were stale. read more

I live close. The is convenient. That's about it. The service is awful. There are never enough registered which wouldn't bother me so much, but you can't check out liquor at those registers. Which brings me to another issue. They have all the liquor locked up. I get it. People steal. This would work fine if there was an employee to open the glass case to get what you want. There is a call button that no one answers. I've actually called the store on my own phone from the liquor aisle and was told someone would come. I've stopped employees walking by for and always told someone would be right with you. While I waited, at least 5 customers walked away. After 23 minutes, so did I. This isn't a one time issue. It happens all the time. The store is a mess. The lingerie Dept is a complete mess all the time. There are baskets overflowing in the aisles so you can't even get your own carriage through. Poorly managed store. One of the worst I've been in. This isn't the first time I've complained but nothing is ever fixed. FYI read more

This place needs some serious supervision. They are usually out of stock of some of the most basic food necessities. When you ask an associate for help they act like you're bothering them or they're doing you a favor for answering your question. Most of the managers or assistant managers there just walk around and chit chat with employees while there is no real work or production being accomplished. Not to mention that when you actually bring up a customer service issue with them, they could care less. Lastly, for most of the male associates there, do not reply to other male customers as "bro" or "dude". It's extremely tacky and unwarranted. read more

1 Star is too much!!! if I could I would not even rate them. I have to say that my shopping at Walmart has always been one of those, wish I was not doing this - compared to those who love the whole experience. I found a bike for my son on Walmart website, and it showed available in Indio. We drove there, waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for 2 men to find the bike in the back. We walk it up front and it scans the full-price, not the one shown on the Walmart website. The girl tells me to go to the front so they can adjust the price. Customer service was terrible. The clerk Adri*** was dreadful. The manager guy with the mustache and cheesy attitude should be ashamed. They stood there and refused to honor their own website price. She got crappy with us and told me I can pay online and drive all the way back the next day to pick-up the bike. One of the other people said "can't we just adjust the price for her"- but Cruella was having none of it, she said (in front of me) - "yeah, we could, but I'm not". I vowed to never go back to Walmart again... and you know what.... it felt good. I felt relieved, like kicking an old habit that was just ugly. We went to Target, bought a bad-ass bike for our son, and it felt good. At least at Target, they honor THEMSELVES!!!! you don't even need to show them proof, they just TRUST YOU and honor THEIR OWN PRICE! I wish the whole of society would recognize when we are putting up with bad, almost abusive, customer service for cheap, inferior products. When this store opened it was ok, went from ok to really a pleasure to shop. Now shelfs are empty, product all over the floor, long lines, associates don't speak and the cashiers stopped saying hello, did you find everything, and can't even say thank you. I have been to all three stores here in the desert of California. All are lacking in the number of registers they have open. There are always long lines at the maybe 2-4 out of 18-24 registers they have in the store. I have written to their corporate office on several occasions but have NEVER gotten a response. The Indio store is the worst. In addition their shelves are poorly stocked. I will only use them for pharmacy from now on. I will travel further in the future to the Target in La Quinta to shop. Walmart seemed to have put the Target in Indio out of business, too bad! read more
