    Blinged out Gnome
    Kim G.

    Great Marshalls conveniently located, when I'm in Rancho Mirage, I always stop in to check out the merchandise and hopefully discover a "find!" Even though Marshalls stores generally carry similar merchandise, clothing styles sometimes differ based on location. This location was clean, well stocked, organized, and since I was here during Thanksgiving, overflowing with holiday decor, wrapping paper, gifts and even holiday pet items. Even the popular gnomes were blinged out in sparkles for the holidays. There was a nice selection of handbags, accessories, and the best beach hats - no surprise! Lots of kitchen utensils, dinnerware, bathroom towels, sheets and bedding, too. Especially liked the offerings for outdoor seating and dining, but obviously no way to get it back to Portland. Lots of parking right out front and in a strip mall with lots of other stores for one stop shopping.

    Step up from.mot of your ROSS stores. Always more organized and fuller inventory. I think the cleanliness and overall organization always makes for a better picking experience.

I came in today looking for workwear and some travel appropriate dresses. This Macys isn't really my go to Macys but again, after a really good experience I'd keep in mind shopping this store again. I primarily shopped the INC woman's wear space and then went to try on some clothes. Kudos that the dressing rooms were clean and clear of excess clothes. Easy to spot too which was nice. I did happily find a nice dress for Europe and some workwear clothes and made my way to the register. Biggest shoutout to staff Israel who was working and helped me out. He was such a lovely gentlemen, so positive and friendly. Loved talking to him and just felt he brought such a joyous great vibe to our checkout experience. He was talking to multiple of us while ringing us up and acknowledging customers in the line. His attitude just made my day and I appreciated how helpful he was and personable, he didn't make it feel like a "cold" emotionless check out experience which sadly has sometimes become the case when shopping retail. Israel is a 5 star employee and next time I'm shopping I'll definitely keep a lookout in the register for him because he was a sweet guy yet very professional. Good work Macys.

Something similar to the Northridge or even Burbank mall when I first walked in. There's plenty of parking and a covered structure which is a major plus out here in the desert. The summer heat and walking back to your car after it's been sitting out, no bueno. For the two main departments stores, Macys on one end and JC Penny's on the other end. Macys also has a home store which you don't see as often. The other bigger stores, Dicks and Barnes and Nobles. Then inside you have the usual stores, nothing fancy. There's your usual H&M which is decent size, Victoria Secrets, Hollister, American Eagle, Tilly's, Bath and Body Works, Express and a few other retail store you would expect inside a mall. Nothing fancy but the usual. Then there's some small business which seemed like they're family owned. The mall isn't that big, a good length from one end to the other. I walked in on Mother's Day's for the first time which they were hosting afternoon tea right in the middle of the plaza. It was cute and raffles were given with prizes offered from the retail insides. In my opinion, it's a mall. Nothing major or special about it. You would think that if it is the only main mall in town, it should be worth it. But I guess it'll do.

The first thing I saw was how FRESH and HEALTHY everything looked. The ingredients were vibrant and clearly prepared with care. After speaking with the owner, I learned this is a FAMILY OWNED business that recently opened, and I was one of their early customers. That made the experience even more meaningful. For my first visit, I tried the tuna wrap and it was AMAZING. The owner was PASSIONATE about the food and took the time to explain the menu and the value is great. You can tell there is real pride behind what they serve. They also offer WRAPS, FRESH SALADS, AND BURGERS, so there are plenty of options depending on what you want. The atmosphere was FRIENDLY, WELCOMING, AND FAMILY ORIENTED. If I am back at the mall, I will definitely come again. IF YOU ARE AT THE SHOPS AT PALM DESERT, GO UPSTAIRS AND CHECK OUT IT'S A WRAP. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

I have always found the staff, friendly and helpful. A year ago, I decided to move to Palm Desert and continued my Residential Interior Design here. I've been to this specific store a few times now. I am not sure what is going on at this location, "Palm Desert CA ", but the staff look extremely unhappy and unfriendly. specifically one gentleman who calls himself the store manager, but he is not. I have seen him picking fights with different clients almost every time I go there. I have tried to strike a friendly note with him, trying to calm him down. At one occasion, out loud, he was telling a client that his position there is what people say to "choose wisely" at the beginning of your career. Once he was staring down at a client to a point where the lady started yelling " Are you staring me down? may I talk to your manager?" and with a great attitude, he responded, "you are talking to him." Long story short, last time I was there I was doing heavy shopping for a 85 year-old woman. Nothing big knickknacks and kitchen items and Home Staples. I was doing a small project for her here at the desert. she has various ailments and I had to be careful choosing the right products for her, which are light enough and easy to operate. Thus, it took me over two hours in the store to do selection of various items for her.. I think that had raised a red flag with the staff. I was treated so poorly there. I had over five workers approaching me and asking " can we help you with something? it seems you've been here for a long time . Every time I would respond, yes I am buying for a client. I need to make the right the selections. it takes time . I do understand store security is important and shrinkage is a problem, but not everybody is a thief. I do believe I am well dressed and I don't like a bum. At the end, yes, the same gentleman approached me aggressively with the same question. I broke out in anger, saying "is there a problem sir? " I'm spending over $800 worth of products here. Nevertheless, I was followed by him until I went to the checkpoint and paid for the products and left the building. Funny enough, he knows me from previous purchases through him, which always has been over five to $600. I tried to make a complaint to their head offices. I got a email saying that my concern has been sent to the store Manager Sylvia "something" and she will get back with me ASAP. This was a month ago and no response. Again, it's a pity. I love this store and most probably I will be shopping at their other locations, but this one definitely has some major staffing and management issues. Needless to say I will not be returning there. Who would like to be treated like this?......

If you haven't been to a Burlington before, it's the type of discount store that requires patience to look-seek-find the value. Things are a bit scattered with racks & racks everywhere. They should change their name to Burlington Rack. A few years ago, they rebranded and changed their name from Burlington Coat Factory to simply, Burlington. Great move and much more suitable because it's not all about coats & clothing here. The last time I went to Burlington in LA, I scored big-time... While wondering around I saw an Eddie Bauer black ribbed, thin down, zipper jacket, hanging somewhere it didn't belong and couldn't believe my eyes -- it was if someone planted it there for me. I said to myself, "please be a large-please be a large" (admit you've done that before?) And low & behold, it was a LARGE. Sooo I tried it on and it fit like a glove. North Face eat your heart out. I was even more blown away when I saw it was marked down from $139.99 to $35.99 (not a typo) Ever since, it's been one of my favorite Fall/Winter jackets, and for LA Kings games too...and perfect for layering. Moral to the story? Timing is everything...and if you exercise a little patience at Burlington, you might score a hat-trick too. {{{Happy Holidays...and Please Don't Drink & Drive}}}
