Wait time on food pickup is ridiculous. There need to be more accurate i'll be headed out to pick up

I like Walmart in Halls! I never thought I'd say that about any Walmart, but since moving to Knoxville in 2020, and having a Walmart, and not much else nearby, I've given it a chance. Now, I have to be clear, Walmart's shelves are messy, prices are sometimes not marked, cleanliness can be lacking in some aisles, employees don't care much about anything, let alone even acknowledge you, the produce department sucks big time, but I have come to accept that. Weird, because I'm not one to lower my standards, but, I admit, I have with Walmart. Maybe it's a Halls thing. Yep, I think it is! What I do like is that Walmart has a nice variety of food items, especially in the condiments aisle. I spend more than I should on things in that aisle. Walmart has good ciabatta rolls, Baskin Robbins Rocky Road and Chocolate Chip ice cream for $3 a pint, and they have a selection of small Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes for a fair price. If I'm in the mood, I stroll around the store to kind of "window shop," Hey, like I said, there's not much else around Halls, so Walmart is my thing. I also have to admit, they have so many self-checkout registers, rarely do I have to wait in line. I never thought I'd like self checkout, but cashiers around here are s-l-o-w, no matter what store you go to! Anyways, Walmart is my go-to store. I give Walmart in Halls four stars! read more

I have lived in 7 states and been to many more and this Walmart is the absolute worst of all I have been too. The absolute lack of customer service is a showing of the how poor the management cares. I know that customers service is on a decline but this store has never had it to be declining. What happened to the customer is always right when I remember working when I was in high school. (At a grocer) that's how we were trained. I had purchased some thing that wasn't even a big deal price wise so the first time it happened I just threw the two boxes away. It was just popsicles they were melted and sticky inside the box. However the very next week We bought 3 boxes and that was to make up for the disappointment my boys had the week before. What do you know every single box was exactly the same, so I called back the store and told them she said to bring the receipt and they would give me my money back then another thing we opened was messed up I call back to speak to manager Kim I was placed on hold only for her to pick up off hold and hang up, call back and she is at lunch. Ok so I hang the receipt up to deal with when I'm back up there. Well I go back it's been 21 days and well I can't return it bc it has to be within that week and they want the boxes. That's something I would have done if that's what was said on the phone I would have tied them up and placed them in out deep freezer until time to return but no one told me that was policy. But let be clear they inconvenienced me not once not twice but three times now. They aren't paying me for my time that I don't get it back or my gas. So I'm inconvenienced and more than a little ill with them (Carson,Josh,Jason,and Jessica ) all of maybe 20 years old. Carson was the start of it all and she works in loss and prevention it just baffles my mind. I didn't just take what those employees did though I called and talked with company and they told me this. They were so sorry that I was treated like that and Walmart does not tolerate employees treating customers that way. They gave me a greater amount gift card and two free months of Walmart plus. My advise is if you let them get away with there bad behavior towards the consumer then it want stop. So call it in and report them use their names and get them retrained. read more

We have been using this Walmart for about 4 years now. Over that time this store has gotten progressively worse when it comes to selection and customer service. I am not sure if the reason is a corporate problem or local management. I have filled out surveys and given reviews and I am sure I am not the only person that feels this way. This store is a joke. I would love to speak to the manager about it, but good luck. The shelves here are bare most of the time. You can never find what you need... I mean common things like eggs! I have legitimately been in this store weeks in a row on different days and found the same item out of stock week after week. I have been in multiple times to return an item and been in a line of 10 + people where one person is working the service counter. Other people working the "front" are standing around while this counter is drowning. I know that the others notice this happening because I have seen other customers call them out on it and they just look away and move to a different gathering place. When you ask a passing associate for assistance they just shrug their shoulders and tell you that it isn't their department. The associates here are rude and there are definitely not enough of them... at least available. Maybe they are hiding the same way management does. I have never seen a manager in this store. Not once. I have tried calling this store multiple times and the phone is never answered. NEVER. They have gone to self check out almost exclusively. Forget having a cashier check you out. I have seen more people pushing brooms around than helping serve customers. To avoid the pandemic issues where this Walmart is not enforcing requirements to wear a mask in the stores I have been using "pick up". That way I don't have to check myself out and actually do get some service. Unfortunately, with the pickup service you come away with a ton of "unavailable" items or substituted items that really don't match your needs. I mean if they don't have it on the shelf when you physically go in then I understand that they won't have it when you order. If you are in a rush and don't check the substituted items before you get there then you automatically approve them. I have had a couple of instances where I have not received all of my items or gotten the wrong item. Luckily, the app has great customer service. This store also lets people bring in their dogs. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have physically come in someone has their "yorkie" tucked under their arm or in their purse. Animals that are OBVIOUSLY not service animals. What happened to it not being sanitary for animals to be around food? I truly believe that this is a local matter because this is the only Walmart I have seen operate this way. I have worked in retail and this place is a nightmare. Unfortunately, it is the closest to a great deal of people's home. read more

Dont deserve any stars. Customer service is terrible at this store. First of all went to exchange a gingerbread man inflatable and the lady said they can't exchange because I didn't have a box. Which on the website said I didn't need the box then she came up with the excuse they wete out of stickers. Save yourself time and just don't go to this store. read more

Whatever your feelings toward Wal-mart, the concept rolls on and on. Generally, I'll always drive past a Wally-world on my way to patronize a locally owned business, especially in small town situations, where the economic environments can be crucial. However, there are those times, be they 'off-hours', time-sensitive mornings, inclement weather days, etc, in which making one stop simply makes sense. And in most cases, 'one stop' at a Wal-mart will generally accommodate one's shopping needs. 'My' Wal-mart on the outskirts of Halls Crossroads occupies a site that has mutated from a pasture field, into a (failed) sub-division plot, and following the mini-recession of '05, into what will eventually become the newest strip-mall on Norris Freeway. While the convenience factor is high when I need their services, I miss taking the dogs into that acreage during its 'pre-asphalt' days. This location could be classified as a mega-mart, with grocery, automobile, pharmacy, eatery area, banking, optometry shop, etc. all scattered within the spacious, well-lighted building. I have to offer a 'thumbs-up' on the new exterior style used for this generation of Wal-mart stores. While it 'is what it is' - essentially a big 'box', the newer earth-tone exterior and entryway is considerably easier on the eyes than their predecessors. Inside the store, the 'greeter' is gone, a nod to our economic times, though I am told that Wal-mart remains one of the nation's largest employer of handicapped individuals. It was always fun to exchange greetings and perhaps a word or two with them, and their passing marks yet another inroad made toward an overall corporate blandness that seems to be overtaking our larger business chains. The isles are wide, with well-stocked, well arranged, and accessible shelves. Each section of the store is arranged in a logical order, with extra wide isles separating each product division. Even the grocery section offers easy accessibility for carts and handicapped devices. The employees in this realm are not specialists, and generally will try to avoid contact, much like deer or other forest creatures. However, occasionally one will find an employee with personality, and a willingness to share their opinion (if asked) regarding product selection. Employees in the electronic and sporting goods sections are in dire need of specialized training in their product lines, or need to be instructed to offer 'no opinion' rather than incorrect data in lieu of no answer at all. The parking lot is well-maintained and well-lighted with more than ample room for larger than normal trucks, trailers, campers, etc. Access to and from Norris Freeway can be made through a signal on the south side of the parking lot, adjacent to a fuel center, where one can find the usual array of 'fetch and run' items. The fuel center offers diesel fuel, as well as all the normal grades of gasoline. The fuel center does not open until 6:00 a/m, so don't count on finding the pumps 'on' during off-hours. As a venue of 'last (or 'fast') resort' for the harried shopper, Wal-mart fits the bill. read more

This used to be a great walmart. However, it has gotten to where I completely avoid the place at all costs. Tonight, i went in there with my parents to get a few items. There were barely any workers on the floor and when it was time to check out, the only registers open were self check out. A very frail elderly woman was having to do self check out because no lanes were open. she could hardly lift her things to do it. Not to mention, the lines to self checkout were outrageous. I hate to have to drive to clinton hwy or out west, but it seems that's the best option right now. Or maybe I'll stick to target. I can't keep supporting this place read more

What can I improve on that has already been said. Oh, I know. A missing item of extreme importance was thought to be left at the store. Thirty minutes later, a frantic call to the store resulted in making numerous calls for 10 minutes with no one answering the phone or, and this is disheartening, I ended up pressing a button to Pharmacy, as 4 other departments did not pick up including CUSTOMER SERVICE, only to have the pharmacist say she requested TWICE a supervisor/store employee to answer her announcement for someone to either answer the phone or come to her to take the phone call...NADA. Now, supposedly, you cannot TRANSFER a phone call from there to the manager--who I would call a phantom manager--because when I came back to the store 20 minutes later, HE was supposedly in a meeting along with all upper echelon personnel at 2 pm?. In fact, on the rare occasions I have frequented the store (and this will be NEVER again from now on), he's never available. More disturbing, I give credits to the following for future patrons of the WORST STORE EMPLOYEES...a Pharmacy technician, let's hope she doesn't have anything to do with dispensing pharmaceutical drugs to customers...think her name started with a 'B' I can add to that, but I won't and lastly to Isisah, who of all places works in the Customer Service Department. read more

If you want to waste a LOT of time, then order something through the Pick Up section. I went early, man turned on the LIGHTS and then told me he hadn't clocked in. Which meant I stood there. I was to have NONE of that, so I called the store manager. Obviously ALL of the personnel don't know what or who the Store Manager is as they send me some higher up employee than they are and that's not saying MUCH, since I have long ago figured, if they found their way to work in the morning, then they have ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING. They know less of a product than I do so I know better than to go in and ask advice. Let me back up a minute. I don't call them up to ASK if they have a certain product since the store's mgmt. in its infinite wisdom, does not provide the clerks (I said it CLERKS, not ASSOCIATES) with a walkie talkie or cell phone so the clerks have to go look and then go to the nearest phone or back to the service desk. Oh, if you want to return something at the Customer Service desk, you had better HOPE that someone isn't trying to do a money order or cash one--or if they do checks, THAT takes up an inordinate amount of time for you. No special section for the Check Cashing section. You can tell the employees hate their jobs and I'm not too sure if it isn't the shabby treatment of them from Walmart. All I know is that I pass this store en route to local businesses. As frugal as I am, I'd rather pay more at another store than be ignored, mistreated, or get HUH when I ask a question. Anyone walk in the store and start to feel depressed...that's how it felt when I USED to go there. Now I don't. Note: Quite possibly working here is a training program for State Jobs. read more

I love the Walmart in Halls Crossroads, because I can get just about everything I need in one place. I used to work in and around Halls. I got to know several people who work at that particular Walmart. I still like to say hello to them. A few employees are always friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable for the most part. read more

Nightmare of an experience at the Halls Store in Knoxville, TN today, 3/20/18. My item rang up at the wrong price, I caught it, they did a price check. They confirmed I was right and rerang the item at the correct price. I never saw the clerk reverse the wrong price so I asked him twice if he had. He said YES MA'AM, I did! I paid and left. When I got to my car my receipt showed I had been charged "7" times for the item! I drove to the front of the store and parked as I was feeling very sick and late for an appointment. I went in to get my money back thinking It would only take a minute. WRONG!!!! There were at least "10" people in front of me in the customer service line and it took at least "15" minutes. I came out to "4" people surrounding my car telling me I was going to jail for parking illegally. The guy standing in front of my car was the Store Manager. He wouldn't move and there was a woman screaming at me on the passengers side. Another guy knocking on my glass showing me a fake badge. I took pictures and video's of all of them. They blocked me in and yelled at me to the point I was horribly embarrassed and humiliated. I was sure the people witnessing this fiasco thought I was attempting to escape a shoplifting incident. So horrifying! I backed my car up and left!!!! I'll NEVER ever be back!! Good news is...I'm running a fever so maybe they'll catch whatever I have! Hopefully that'll teach them to not get in my face, surround my car and scream at me. if I hadn't experienced this I wouldn't believe it. I have pictures and videos! read more
